The most memorable thing about "Superman III" to me was the transformation scene in which the evil woman (don't remember her name) was taken over by the supercomputer. The makeup and effects look quaint today, but when I was a young kid, it genuinely freaked me out.
"Superman IV", on the other hand, was a preachy borefest that I mostly forgot immediately after I saw it. I think the average episode of "ALF" had a higher budget.
Superman IV was produced by the financial movie giant "Cannon" in 1987 - run by Golan & Globus. I wonder why the script and the special effects were so bad ...
