Why is the Intellivision 2 less popular than the original model? What shortcomings does it have?

@DZ: Thanks for proving my point.

The fire buttons aren't actually buttons. Think of them like the D-pads on those goofy Turbo Touch 360 controllers for SNES/Gen.
The keypad on the I/III Intellivisions is plasticky too, and its buttons don't have any "clickity" feedback, either. They're actually harder to press than the II's, which are really just (quite sensitive) touch pads.
Ugly? Pff.
