ColecoVision 2: Electric Boogaloo.
But seriously folks, I like the Phoenix name. It seems very appropriate. A great system reborn from the ashes.

So I recently purchased a Nintendo Switch. My favorite nephew also got one as well. I noticed there are a few Neo Geo titles on the Nintendo marketplace. Does anyone know if these games have unlimited continues? I'd like to play them together with my boy. I think it would be a great way to introduce him to the Neo Geo library.

You know what would be really cool? An app that kept track of homebrew game releases.

Retro Pie is terrible and nothing will ever be as good as original hardware.

I have a very tough time choosing between SMB3 and Super Mario 64. I love them both for different reasons.

I would buy this in a heartbeat. You're talking about one of my all time favorite portables. If there's a wait list I want to be on it. Preferably at the top

BTW, your Lynx car was AMAZING.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes I am a very happy owner of an MVS, took me two years to find the "right" one and bite the bullet. My plan is to make a video every 2 weeks more or less and do my top 5 games of the moment.
I look forward to this journey immensely although I suspect my atari 2600 is weeping in the corner and already plotting revenge on the MVS!!

Hey, I really liked your video. I just subscribed to your channel using my DigThatBoxRETRO account.
I'm just curious, where did you get that consolized Neo Geo? it's a really nice looking unit. Honestly I'm very interested as the front loading cartridge set up might work better with my current entertainment center, so I might be interested in buying one of these myself.

Ok, I have two important questions for you die hard Neo Geo fans.
For those of you who own the AES or a consolized MVS, what kind of TV or monitor are you using? Are you playing your games on CRT like a purist? Or are you using a modern TV?
Now for my second question. How does everyone feel about the HDMI mods for the MVS? Can I get your opinions? Here's a video.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. I'd like to see some preliminary case designs and some other proof of concept stuff. There's a part of me that worries this project will never see the light of day. However if it does, and it's done well and the price is right, I would be a day one supporter.
Putting my initial pessimism aside, the OpCode people are behind it and they've got a proven track record. It's certainly an ambitious project, but if something like the RetroUSB AVS can happen so can this. Perhaps these types of "neo retro" consoles will be the wave of the future? Perhaps they will phase out SOAC and emulation based multi machines? Only time will tell.

This has always been a dream of mine as well. I know the Harmony cart can run all these games, but I've always liked the idea of having them in cartridge form. It would be especially cool if the labels used some of the original box art. There's just something so unique about the whole Starpath library.

That's really great news about the prices on the AES carts. I'm the kind of guy who will buy an SD Cart but still will also purchase original carts as well. There's just something about owning original carts.
By the way, is there a good price guide online for AES carts? I might actually buy a few from a local collector but I want to make sure I'm getting a decent price.

The CGE2k10 version is so valuable I actually used it to put my kids through college and I don't even have any children.
Seriously though, that's the one cart I would never sell. I still remember sneaking into the show floor early while everyone was setting up their tables and seeing it at the AA both. I saw a sign that said "Halo 2600." I asked the guy at the table, who turned out to be Albert, were they going to be selling a Halo game for the 2600? He replied "you didn't see nothing!"
The next day that was the first game I bought at the show. What a great time.

My first thought upon learning about this product was "how much are those modules going to cost and where am I going to store them when not in use?"
I also thought it might be a pain in the ass to keep switching between modules. Although I'm definitely not a fan of the Retron 5, I'd rather have a single console with multiple cartridge ports.
I honestly with the people from Hyperkin and Retro BIt would get their acts together and bring in some real experts. I believe the multi-console idea has great potential, just as long as the hardware is well built and it's not running buggy, stolen emulators full of input lag.

Hey everyone. As you know I'm in the market for Neo Geo hardware. I've had a few false leads over the past year. I almost purchased a two slot arcade cabinet just a few weeks ago, but the guy pulled the sale at the last minute. I also almost purchased an AES console, but when I went to see it in person it was in far worse shape than the seller had originally described. So now I'm considering buying a consolized MVS. It's something I had considered as an option in the past, but honestly the AES was always the system of my dreams back in my youth. Owning one would still be a dream come true.
That's why I'm giving strong consideration to the Neo Geo Omega from Arcade Works. I'd love to get some opinions on this console. Have any of you had experience with it? My only hands on time with the Omega was at E3 when it would occasionally appear in the Video Game History Museum. It's a really amazing looking piece of tech. It has all the benefits of MVS hardware with cool AES styling.
What do you folks think?

Outstanding seller! Great communication. Fast shipping. Polite and friendly service. Truly a great person to deal with. Thanks very much for an excellent transaction!

I just saw something interesting on the Stone Age Gamer Facebook page. It seems they're teasing a possible SD flash card for the Neo Geo AES.

No need to develop an "app." Maybe someone start a "New games" announcement thread, and homebrewers just make a post linking to their for sale threads onsite or not. Then everyone interested simply subscribes to the thread, and make it clear the thread is for new game announcements only so it doesn't get filled with "that's awesome" type posts. We have similar threads in each console's respective forum that link to publicly available homebrew ROMs, so why not somebody do the same for sales?
This is a very good idea. I hate to sound spent-brained, although I did party a lot back in the day, but I just can't keep track of all these new threads. A single thread for new releases would be a god send.

Wow, I don't know how I missed the boat on this one. This game is incredible. I would definitely purchase a physical release if any more become available.

This is brilliant! Thanks very much for making this. I can't wait to try it.

I vividly remember seeing a display unit at my local Sears when I was a kid. I immediately thought this was the greatest thing I had ever seen in my life. My entire young world revolved around convincing my parents to get me this system. About a year later I got my wish. I would own dozens of video game consoles over the years. However I never stopped playing the Atari 2600. Even when all my friends moved on to 8 and 16 bit consoles I was still playing Atari 2600 games.
It's funny because MANY years later nothing has changed. Still playing Atari.

This whole project is absolutely brilliant. I've been looking for an idea for my first Raspberry Pi project and I think this is it. Thanks for posting. I will definitely keep my eye on this project.

I just want to say something. I don't care who you voted for, I'm cool with you either way. We all have one great thing in common, we all love Atari. In a time when people are so bitterly divided it's great that we all have something that brings us all together.

I want to show my interest and support for this project. I would definitely be one of your first customers. Thanks for doing this.

ColecoVision System box replica

This might sound like a strange question but have you ever considered making mini versions of your box replicas? That is something I would love to have in my collection. A nice assortment of mini replica boxes for all the classic game consoles.
BTW, you do amazing work.
