The Free Arcade Token promotion is back! Same rules as last year. Find the secret word on the web site, send in your mailing address, get a token in the mail. (or in this case THREE!)

This year they have 3 new tokens. Copper, Red Brass, and Emerald Green. Each token is made for a different event. The first is for E3 Expo, the second is for Comic Con 2012, and the 3rd is for the Classic Gaming Expo 2012. The mail-away is the only way to get all three without attending the events. All three tokens are limited to 1000 units each.

There is also an early bird special. The first 55 people will get all 5 collectible tokens.

There is also a crazy bonus attatched to the lucky Emerald Green Token.

It also will grant the owner special access to our Emerald Token Club. This will allow the owner early access to future tokens, the ability to vote on new token designs, contest bonuses, and other secret privileges that are yet to be revealed!

  2. After I get all copies of Boulder Dash 2600 shipped, I'm going to put together a large run of Halo 2600 carts, with manuals and boxes for those who want them.

Please add me to the list of interested parties. Thank you very much.

  3. Let's talk about this for a moment.

Would you be open to the idea of an Angry Birds game on the Atari 2600? Do you think the 2600 could support such a game? How would it work? What would it look like? Give me your best speculation on this subject. I'm very interested to hear your replies.

IMO, I think a talented homebrew developer could pull this one off. It might even be really fun too.

  4. So I talked to some people. According to them the price has yet to be set and the license agreement hasn't even officially been finalized and signed yet. I am not saying this price is wrong, but either someone is lying, giving out bad information, or there is a lot of confusion going on.

My guess was $85 to $100 US.

The "$500 price tag" sounds like a joke on the old AVS pricing.

  6. This is a status update and a plea for help.

I have repeatedly sent messages to SNKplaymore about this product and I still have not received a reply. Usually when I contact this company, as I have done in the past, they are fairly quick about their response. Their silence on this issue is a bit puzzling. I think if it was a hoax they would have just told me flat out.

If you have any information on this product, please contact me. If you know anyone I can speak to, please send me a PM. Thanks very much for your help.

I believe Tommo handles SNK Playmore U.S.A. distribution. You could possibly contact them. http://www.tommo.com

Thanks for all the great info StoneAgeGamer! I have sent a message to Tommo and I am now just waiting for their reply. Hopefully we'll get some good news.

  8. You know Journey had a different front man for a while. Some guy from the Philippines. He's actually fairly good.

Anyway, he's in his early 40s. I bet he played this game when he was growing up.

    Don't stop believing, man.

  9. NSCX.com has this on their website as a HOAX.

That's what people said when the Atari Flashback 3 was revealed.

It would be nice if NSCX.com shared their reasoning with us. When you visit the site there is just a picture of the machine with the word "hoax" above it. Nothing more.

Three things make me think this is a hoax. The original article disappeared from the web quickly, the strange ordering of the L+R triggers, and if you look closely, one of the pics looks shopped when you examine it closely.

I don't agree with the logo missing a "p." I've seen SNK related merch (toys, etc) that still have the old logo. I just think "SNK" looks better on a product than "SNKP" but maybe that's just me.

I actually sent an email to SNK Playmore. They have yet to respond.

  10. I am definitely going to attend. I'm thinking about getting a table.

I wonder what surprises Atari Age will have in store for us? And will there be another Retro Gaming Rumble?

I'm bringing lots of money for new homebrew games. And since this is Vegas, gambling money, and cash for coke(-a-cola) and hookers.
