  1. Work it out!

Nah, better to "work it in"

  2. I was actually surprised at how well it works in the Vita. They clearly cut a few corners here and there, but its still a very solid port. It's a great deal of fun. I'm currently trying to beat it on all levels of difficulty. No easy task.
  3. If only this had dragged on a bit longer. We were closing in on 300 pages and 500,000 topic views. Crazy! But seriously, now that it's over I feel a bit relieved. I can get back to my regular schedule of doing nothing.
  4. I'm currently hooked on Earth Defense Force 2. And when I'm done with that game I'm going to tackle Muramasa Rebirth.
  5. Just when I thought this thread was cooling down. Just went I thought things had run their course. Another megaton hits. Wow, just wow. I almost feel kinda sad for these people. In their attempt to create a new business they destroyed their old business and forever tarnished their personal reps. Sad indeed. I'm also expecting AA server overload on day 7, aka "review day." I'll be here. My popcorn is ready.
  6. C-c-c-combo breaker!

  7. I have to admit that I'm still following the Facebook page daily out of morbid curiosity.
  8. DS Lite for all the weird Slot 2 accessories. New 3DSXL for the faster load times, better net play, and the second analog nub.
  9. How close are we to the end of the 7 day deadline? Has anyone visited the RetroVGS Facebook page lately? The page still has 19,864 fans. Do you think they were all legit or are some of these "fans" the kind you can buy in bulk on Black Hat sites and Fiverr? The average post on the RetroVGS Facebook receives around 250 likes. Their videos have received thousands of views. Coleco Holdings LLC has around 880 followers on Twitter. How much legitimate interest was there really in this product? I mean the IG campaign failed spectacularly, would the Kickstarter have failed too? Even with a working prototype?
  10. At this point they should just revive the original ColecoVision hardware and call it a day. If it were a truly faithful reproduction I would definitely buy one.
  11. This one. I actually saw this console at E3 2004. The Phantom was sitting in this tiny booth, and there was a video screen above it. It was clear that the console was just a shell and there was a PC under the table running the video we were watching.
  12. You know it's funny. The Coleco Chameleon has forever cemented its place in history. It will now join the ranks of other famous unreleased consoles such as the Phantom, Ultravision, DISCover, and so many other failed 'never ran' contenders. It's kinda ironic.
  13. You're the guy from the hamburger chain.

Did you hear about those girls they're dipping in wax at the wax museum?

  14. Passing out pills?! 90% of my work is surgery. Setting broken bones, digging bullets out of people, delivering babies in the middle of the night!

Wan't to pull my tooth? The dentist wouldn't do it today said it is to deep into my sinus cavity and I need to go to a more hospitalized dental office

      Didn't I see you on M.A.S.H.?

  15. So what happens next? Anyone want to make a guess? Also no one has answered the million dollar question. Why?! I already read one very intelligent post in this thread that speculated the RetroVGS people blew their funding early buying parts and the rights to the Coleco brand. And that this latest prototype was merely a scam designed to help them raise money to make a real product. That seems logical, right? But here's the thing... It's so painfully obvious that they were going to get caught. This community is filled with people who really know their stuff. That's part of the reason I come here. The discussions on Atari Age are fascinating because we have so many skilled and knowledgeable people in our midsts. Many of them are industry veterans, authors, or people have made their own products. There's no way the RetroVGS crew was going to get away with this scam. Absolutely no way. It just wasn't going to happen. Their lie was uncovered in a matter of hours after the pic was posted. So then why would they do it? They had to know they were going to get caught. After all, these people are familiar with this community. Again, is this just a case of incredible hubris? Contempt? Laziness? Is it someone's idea of a bad joke? Because if it was just a money scam these people are the worst cons in the history of the game. I'm sure many of you could think of a better way to fake something like this.
  16. It's funny that you mention him. He's making a great product IMO, and with a lot less fanfare, attention and support than the RetroVGS / Coleco Shameleon. EDIT: I guess that's what I'm trying to understand here. What the heck is the motivation here? Is it pure contempt? Is it total hubris? Is it lulzy trolling? I just cant see any logical reason for any of the decisions they have made with this product. To put it bluntly, I am baffled.
  17. I'll put it right next to my Beta Max VCR and that Ouya I backed on Kickstarter.
  18. I have an interesting conspiracy theory. Please forgive me if it sounds a bit crazy. This might just be the Mountain Dew and popcorn talking. What if we're all being deliberately trolled? I know the obvious replies to this question would include things like brand damage, trashing their reputation, alienating potential consumers, fraud, etc. Even as I type this post the idea that we're being deliberately trolled doesn't seem likely. But what if we are being trolled? I just checked in with my Facebook account and this story is all over the place. It's blowing up like crazy. What if they show up in a week with a totally working prototype and are like "ha, ha, fooled you!" This whole story does seem like obvious bait. Again, seems very unlikely but I just had to mention the idea.
  19. Eating popcorn. Reading the forums. Fun night!

  20. This is exactly why the super A.I. robots are going to destroy us all. You're just making things worse for us, hockey stick jerk.

    1. Hitachi

      Hitachi

I don't know why, but when I watch these, and they kick the robot or push it over like that, it makes me feel some odd sort of sympathy, then makes me feel stupid, cuz it's just a mess of metal, plastic, and wires... *casts eyes over at closest game console* nevermind.

  22. So I finally got to see Deadpool. Enjoyed it far more than I expected. I can finally put Green Lantern behind me. All is forgiven, Ryan Reynolds.

Me and the Mrs. loved it!

  23. I'm trying to watch Happy Days but there's way too much Chachi in this episode. They should warn you about this stuff before hand.

      But Joanie loves Chachi.

Its like the cousin Eddie episodes of Brady Bunch, or the Scrappy Do episodes of Scooby. Should be a warning.

      That was cousin Oliver.

Yeah, not a positive addition to the show.
