      Just for one day.

  2. I too, have always wanted to make my own carts. Simply for the idea of doing it myself. I'll never be able to afford all the homebrew and repro carts I would like to play. And nothing beats playing games on a real cart. Unfortunately, I've done some reading on the subject and it appears some hozer has ruined the entire game for everybody. I'm afraid to even ask questions about this subject for fear of being branded a hozer. But it would be cool to make my own carts, with my own label designs. (And speaking of label designs, although this may be controversial, I think someone needs to release a complete set of Activision labels so people can replace their original, ruined cart labels.)
  3. Captain Kirk and Atari 2600. Two great things that go great together!
  4. I don't have to remember the Dreamcast. Mine is still sitting right in front of me.
  5. Panzer Dragoon Saga. Its worth buying a Sega Saturn just to play this game. I actually got my copy of PDS for a mere $5. I had stayed up all night with my friends, and in keeping with tradition, we decided to go to Toys R Us to goof around. There was a clearance sale on all Saturn items. Got PDS, HOTD, and Burning Rangers. All $5 each.
  6. I bought Panzer Dragoon Saga and waited two years before I played it. (..one of the best RPGs I've ever played in my entire life.) For several years I masqueraded as the retail buyer for a certain "music and more" retail chain, just so I could go to e3. I went so often people at the company starting thinking I really worked there. They would get mail, occasional phone calls, etc. (I went seven years in a row this way. Later I got a real job and now I masquerade as a gonzo journalist.) In the 90s I drove around with a 19" color TV on the back seat of my 84' Toyota. It was covered with a blanket. In the trunk was a 2600 in a paper bag, along with some games, an extension cord and all sorts of hook ups and controllers. I was always ready for retro gaming. (Come to think of it, that last one isn't shameful at all, more like a badge of honor.)

Almost did that today.. sore throat and cold.

  9. For several years in the 90s I used to drive around with an old 19" color TV on the back seat of my car. I actually caught a guy trying to steal it. In the trunk of the car was a 2600 and some games in a paper bag.

How did you power it? Are there battery packs that accept standard AC in? Or did you use a converter for the lighter plug? I'd buy a van and put a Commodore 64C with monitor and disk drives so I can play Test Drive while I drive!

  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5qxJGGeW-Y Great little promo for the InvaderCade. A mini Space Invaders themed arcade cabinet for iPad/iPad2
  11. Combining all 3 classic Atari console into one machine? That's a dream come true!
  12. Someone make me a cheese burger. Lettuce, onions cut very thin, mayo, brown mustard, ketchup, and lettuce. With a Coke on the side and some fries.

  13. Checking the marketplace twice daily. Take my money. All of my money.

  14. I have 3 versions of the VG Pocket. The original, seen in the OP pic, and the Capsule and Tablet versions. The latter had much better games and you could even buy custom fitted cases for both systems.
  15. I just picked up Star Fox as well. Lots of fun. Haven't played it in years so this was a good excuse to pick it up again. Really looking forward to the Holiday Season and Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land

  17. Top 10. Adventure, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pitfall, Pac-Man, River Raid, Atlantis, Seaquest, Kaboom, Megamania *Atari Pac-Man is on this list because its such an important part of the 2600 experience. Those graphics, that chomping sound. They're iconic. When I mentioned "that chomping sound" I'm sure some of you heard that noise in your head. That's Pac-Man related brain damage.
  18. This one is my personal favorite.
  19. From best to worst. Activision, Imagic, and M-Network games separated into their own groups. Mystique/Playaround games stored in a dirty shoe box hidden under my bed.
  20. Friends, I want you to send me some free video game merchandise. You don't want it. You don't need it. Those old games and consoles are just cluttering up your home. Just send it to me. Pick up that phone now and give me a call. I want you to dig deep. Give all that you can. Operators are standing by. Call now!
