  1. Send me all your unwanted Atari 5200 and 7800 games. Come on, you know you want to. All the cool kids are doing it.

  2. PM Sent! I'm in the market for cheap 7800 games.
  3. These conversions are amazing. Is it me or does that Rampage actually look better than the 7800 version?
  4. Atari 5200 Paddle by Dr Manhattan, on Flickr I just wanted to say that I made one of these paddles for myself. I was really surprised at how easy it was. The only thing is the POT on my 5200 paddle only had two posts and not three like the one pictured above. So I messed around a little bit and found a spot where I could sodder the second connection. I glued everything together and paddle works perfectly. It really makes playing Kaboom a lot of fun. Thanks Zylon!
  5. I just found out there's no such thing as the real world.

  6. I've always love Atari 2600 box art. I would actually like to make some of these into posters and hang them on my wall.
  7. I heard he spent the last 5 years of his life hold up in the Dakota doing heroin and watching TV.

  9. Thank you for the reply. That is a really helpful topic. (And Atari Joe is right, that Red XE gun is sweet!) I'm glad I'm not the only who has trouble navigating Best Electronics. (Although now that you've directed me to that page I'm going to purchase a bunch of stuff.) Speaking of which, I see a product called "BE's Sega Controller to Atari Systems Adapter." Do either of you know if I could use this adapter with my SMS light gun? That would save me a lot of trouble. I'm only a novice when it comes to soddering. One last thing. Hasn't anyone tried that C64 gun? I'm just curious because I think it looks kinda cool.
  10. I'm in the market for a 7800 light gun. I hear the Atari XE Light Gun works well on the 7800. I've also read that you can convert the Sega Master System LG for use with the 7800. And according to the 7800 guide on this site, Best Electronics sells a light gun as well. (alghough I can't find it on their site.) Which light gun is best for use with the 7800? Which do you prefer? What are the games that work with the light gun? My list so far includes Alien Brigade, Barnyard Blaster, Crossbow, and Meltdown. (I've heard Cracked is a light gun game without light gun support. Is that true?) And one last thing. I found this C64 Light Gun on ebay. Do you think it would work with the 7800? (Here's another C64/XE/7800 light gun.) I look forward to hearing your opinions.

  17. Love it. Fantastic library of portable fight games. Still my favorite portable to play fight games. The last two years of the GBC were pretty rough. I'm happy the NGPC came along to help me though that dark time. I'm an avid portable gamer and the NGPC is one of my all time favorite portable game systems.

  19. I like the NES pad but I hate the idea of playing my Atari 7800 with something that says "nintendo" on it. I know that's a petty concern but I'm an obsessive Atari fan. My main concern with the Joypad is the buttons. They're kinda low in relation to the d-pad. Without trying one in person I don't know how deep or repsonsive they are. Button depth is always important to me. I'm not a huge Sony fan but I've always loved the buttons on the PS consoles mainly because they are low and easy to pound.
  20. I have been spending a lot of time with both consoles lately and I'm just curious how you all feel about this subject. Which console has the better library? Atari 5200 or Atari 7800? Please tell us whether homebrew games factor in your decision. I just spent 4 months in Upstate NY playing 5200 and 7800 games. After all that time I'm starting to lean towards the 5200. In fact I honestly believe this system is highly underrated. Don't get me wrong, I still love the 7800. (I love all Atari consoles.) I just always get the feeling that 5200 is treated as the "worst" Atari console, and that's a title it does not deserve. Its really a great system with an outstanding library. So which library is better in your opinion? I'm eager to hear your replies.
  21. Is it too late for me to order one of the beauties? I have actually been anticipating this product ever since I learned about it at CGE. I meant to place my pre-order but unfortunately I've been stuck in Upstate NY for the past 4 months and was unable to check my internet on a regular basis. Please, take my money!
