  1. I think it's more by luck than by design that it all fitted inside the Jaguar shell. Had to use a couple of space saving tricks but it's worth in for the end result. I was quite willing to use some sort of case spacer to give more room if it didn't fit. But looking at it now I'm so glad it all fits.
  2. When it's all finished I'll invest in one of those display turntables, I can see it now. My mate Dave doing overtime on his vaping cigarette because we couldn't find a smoke machine. Me in the background flicking the light on and off rapidly as I broke my strobe light back in the 90's. Cue the dramatic music .... You get the idea, it'll be a big reveal. Better than the one for the Tesla cybertruck..
  3. One of the last pictures I took while in the freezing cold man cave. A side by side comparison, which do you prefer?
  4. Progress report.... Testing undercoat coverage. A bit more filling and sanding to do but it's starting to look good
  5. Thanks, it will look a whole lot better once it's be filled, sanded and spray painted. The hardest bit will be getting it to look like a 'retail' unit.
  6. That is just a small bit of all the stuff I have that's being worked on. I'm always adding components and spare parts to the ever increasing number of storage box units I have.
  7. The idea wasn't mine, there has been a mock up of something along these lines from years ago. It was never shown working as far as I know, only a couple of pictures of it from a couple of angles. It never had a lid open button so I've no idea how that would have worked.
  8. At the moment it still uses 2 power supplies but I'm looking into getting a 9v 2a supply and running it all from that.
  9. I don't want to ruin the thread with random pics, all the progress pics are on twitter, with loads more on the phone that I've not bothered to upload. I just want to make it easy for people to follow the process of doing it and maybe if they are crazy enough do it themselves.
  10. Space inside is very tight, had to remove a cart connector and replace with a riser card. It will retain the original lid mechanism and lift cutout.
  11. I've been busy on twitter doing updates about the Atari Jaguar and CD combo unit I've been working on. I thought I'd update people who don't really use Twitter on one of the first major milestone I've reached. https://photos.app.goo.gl/imgZJH63REHoe4bW6 You can follow the progress on my Twitter feed. https://twitter.com/jagfumes?s=09 I'm happy to answer any questions people might have.
  12. A couple of the red ones would be great. I'll msg you a bit later.
  13. Yes, it's a long way off being finished. Have recently purchased some bits for plastic welding. Will update after I've practiced a bit on some scrap jaguar shells.
  14. One of the matching paint codes is RAL 7021.
  15. Thanks for tracking that one down. now to order that or an alternative colour match, will show you how it turns out when I've done it.
  16. I remember reading somewhere, can't for the life of me remember where. Someone had found an 'exact' match for the Atari jaguar shell colour in a car spray paint. I'm currently modifying a Jaguar and would like to return it to its original colour after I've finished plastic welding and filling the shell. Any info or a link to the topic would be really appreciated.
  17. I think I've still got some empty skunkboard PCBs somewhere.
  18. I've repaired a clock jaguar back to working condition, and a jaguar that had been hard modified into a Jamma plug in. If a Jag looks like it's beyond repair then I just use them for spare parts.
  19. I think an apology is in order Jeff.
  20. Telegames still has new protector se for sale
  21. If possible try and buy from the original source, that way you are supporting them. Anyone can buy a new cart pull it to bits and rehouse it in a different case. It doesn't make them rarer or more sought after. It's just an original that's been tampered with.
  22. I use these people. https://jlcpcb.com/
