That said, I've always wanted to own a working wood grain six switch system, which I see you have two. I'd like the one in better condition along with a copy of Combat without any label damage to either its front or top labels. This is very sad news indeed. My father bought a Commodore 64 shortly before I was born and throughout the late 80s when I was very young it was not only my first computer, but also my first game system. Thanks to BBSes and other kids, I had a huge amount of pirated C64 games including some of the best games even to this day including Ducks 'Ohoy, The Great Giana Sisters, Ultimate Wizard, Jumpman Jr., Boulderdash and so many more. load "*",8, 1 jack. RUN "Rest in peace".

Softmodding doesn't allow me to exchange the harddrive without severe difficulties, and even then I could only access the first 137 GB out of a 750 GB drive. Modchips allow up to 2 TB drives to be easily installed.

Not exactly a classic console but not modern either, I want to add in a modchip into my Xbox version 1.1 so I can install and use a 750 GB IDE seagate barracuda harddrive with it. I don't really require multiple dashboards or anything fancy, just as long as I have the large harddrive support across E and F partitions. As of now in 2012, what is the best Xbox modchip to go with? I'm leaning towards the DuoX-2 GS more than the Aladdin XenoFX, but I want to hear from those who know about this stuff. Thanks.

True. The only reason I didn't bring up the RP2C03 is because most people don't have access to one to install in the first place, and there is little reason to install one outside of Europe anyway unless you plan to then also install a RGB to S-video adapter. But again, that's different from preforming a composite mod on an NES-101 "toploader" - all you're doing is utilizing the hardware that's already there, not adding in new hardware.

Well, obviously only do this if you know what you're doing. Even so though, its not very hard at all.

The "toploader" only lacks an external source for composite video. The PPU it has is exactly the same as the NES-001 "toaster". All you need to do is solder a few wires to the PPU, build a simple video amplifier and add in two standard RCA jacks in the back of the case.

Interesting discovery, but this begs the obvious question of why you would bother with the RF adapter at all when the NES has superior RCA composite jacks?

because they can, and people will buy it - assuming it gets a reasonable price point.

Actually, The Famicom launched with Popeye, not Donkey Kong. I'm Canadian. SMS list would be a bit more tricky, but I should be able to do something like that in the future. Unfortunately, I don't own a Master System myself, and am only really familiar with it in emulation, and I don't really have all that strong a grasp on its library. Before I do such a list, I'm going to tackle systems I DO know well such as the GBA, SNES, Original Xbox and GameCube. I think the next list I'll do will be Xbox games.

1. The list is honestly the games that I like - nothing more, nothing less. There are a lot of popular games I didn't mention at all on purpose because either I don't like them or don't like them enough to warrant them on the top 100. 2. I completely do feel that all six Megaman games deserve places on the top 100 NES games. They're ALL really polished games and even though the later games were stigma of "same old same old" they are in fact excellent games that are superior to many of their 16-bit rivals at the time. I love Megaman, but you didn't see me put RockBoard on the list. RockBoard is not great even though I do like it. 3. TNG gets the pass, but 25th anniversary didn't, even though I love TOS more than TNG. No love for Dragon Warrior is correct, but Battletoads is alrigtht..just not top 100 material for me I'm afraid. 4. Uh..okay? 5. Yeah.......SMB2J and SMB2 USA both are good games, but they're so different from each other I prefer to always refer to the Japanese version with a J and the one that came out for the NES and Mario USA as it was called in Japan. 6. Dozens and dozens at least, probably closer to 300 games. I really went over the NES, Famicom and FDS library to create this list. There was a LOT that ended up on the cutting room floor. I think I might do a more brief list of an additional 100 games just based on the extra that didn't make the top 100. Maybe do something like "`100 honorable mentions" or something. Of course, even then I'll have to cut out some games I like for the sake of the list.

Smart kid for ignoring IronSword for Megaman 2. IronSword sucks, and even the end label pisses me off. It just says IronSword rather than Wizards & Warriors II, so it looks wrong when you place it in between 1 and 3 on the shelf. But yeah, the whole exchange is great in his complete lack of any reaction or interest to IronSword even after his mother attempts to drum up interest. Mom: "Oh look IronSword: Wizards & Warriors 2!!!!!!!" Kid: "...........I finally got Megaman 2!!!!!!!!" Priceless.
