Atari demonstrably bans people they find inconvenient. No more, no less. It's not for personal attacks, hate speech, the "trolling" catch-all, or any of their other silly excuses.

The Parker siblings, the Werners, Lucas...these are simply useful idiots for the cause. Foot soldiers. Enforcers. Atari won't disavow these morons because they'll gladly do Atari's dirty work.

I would like to know if they get good money  for doing that. Seriously it's about a console and games we love; the old Atari and PacMan a four switcher that when I seen it fell hard for video games.

With all the basement talk, I figured I might as well point out what a typical troll/hater's basement looks like.

I mean a troll or hater basement? I tell you this basement belongs to a fan that loves arcades and pinballs machines.

I loved those when I was young but I couldn't use my lunch money on them, saw many kids do that in the PacMan behemoth arcade machine.

By the way, when I shared my article thursday on Facebook, I tagged the Atari VCS account as usual. But I found out later that it had been 'untagged'. I had no idea it was possible to do that... 🤨

Yes, anyone tagged can untag themselves on Facebook

  4. Any idea over the price? I'm on a tight budget but definitely will buy, I'll begin to put money on my piggy bank. Had to buy a car because my pick up transmission gave up, that eats up a good chunk of my paycheck.

    Thanks

  5. The Atari cartridges do fit tight on heavy sixers, I recommend you to get the Harmony cart to protect your games, the labels and the cartridge itself can be damaged with the puting and pulling frequently.

    Enjoy!!!

2019-Aug-3:  Version 2 of the demo ROMs (NTSC and PAL60) have been added to this post.

Version 1 demo ROMs can be found in this post

    Hello all!

Yesterday, the Champ Games 'secret project' was revealed live on Zero Page Homebrew's Twitch stream:  Galaga for the Atari 2600!

This game was developed over the last 6 weeks by Nathan Strum (graphics, game design), Ross Keenum (music and sound) and myself (design and programming).  It is about 90% complete with just a few bugs to be fixed and bells & whistles to be added.

Here are a few pics of the game in action:

    Game features:

    • 1 or 2 players (alternating) with plans to add in a 2 player co-op mode
    • NOVICE, STANDARD and ADVANCED skill levels
    • a special CHALLENGE game mode where you compete with only CHALLENGE stages
    • all enemies from the arcade included (thanks Nathan!)
    • all music and sound from the arcade included (thanks Ross!)
    • High scores for all game modes; will support save to Atarivox/Savekey
    • Will support Nathan Tolbert's multi-tap (QuadTari) for 2 player with Atarivox/Savekey
    • A/B switch to enable/disable auto-fire (A = no auto-fire aka like the arcade; B = auto-fire with button held down)
    • Pause game via Color/BW / Pause (7800) switch
    • Technical details:  the game uses the new CDFJ driver (Stella 6.1 or better) and runs on both the Harmony & Harmony Encore.  It also runs on the latest community build of Stella on the Retron 77 (thanks Nathan for the confirmation!)

A video of the reveal and the game in action can be viewed on ZPH's Twitch stream archive (link above).

We are planning on releasing a playable demo ROM sometime in the near future once a few bugs are fixed.  A cart release has not been planned yet (I haven't talked directly to Al about it since the reveal) but I'm sure it will be available in the AA store at some point. :)

Thanks to Nathan and Ross for all their hard work in getting this game together in such a short period of time, and special thanks to James & his team at ZPH for taking the time to debut the game on the ZPH Twitch stream.  It was a lot of fun! :D

EDIT: I just realized that the screen shots are super small (not sure why).  I was trying to give Nathan a break from having to do all the work but obviously I should leave this stuff to the experts!

I would like to know when this game will be in the AA store, thanks. And if not how much for the full game rom, good evening.

    Thanks. It's all good.

They still have the ability to post, I never banned them. And when they post it will be marked as Official as I've automated that process. If they've abandoned, then that was their choice.

Please @The Historian explain this to me I'm a peasant and need some learning to do, thanks and good evening.

Don't forget that "Atari" also likes to use their money for paying lawyers.

That money spent on lawyers could be used to make excellent games for the AtacoBox or to make a working machine ready to ship, I mean it's tiring to be pulling the whistle cord continuously.

  9. Exciting news from of all places China? After Pres. Trump slapped them with steep tariffs? All other console makers are considering moving their products elsewhere although I don't know for certain if tariffs will impact game consoles. If someone knows more than me please post the info.

    Thanks

There is a Mario Bros. for the 2600. That's not what's being laughed at here. What's being laughed at is all the games that Atari doesn't own and won't make a red cent from being talking about during his TV time about the new console for which they are surely trying to sell from their own Atari IP stable of properties. When the first thing out of the interviewers mouth is the title of a Nintendo property, it doesn't do him any favors. Hell, even Pacman is a Namco property.

Yes indeed Shawn, that is why I made the comment, also there were many games made by Activision ironically founded by former Atari game developers because at that time Atari didn't pay them royalties on sales and neither gave them credit for their work.

It warmed my heart that the first thing he asked he asked him about the Ataco Console was playing Mario. The "oh, fuck me" look on Fred's face was priceless. When he said "everyone is playing video games" and Varney replied "I don't", that was also a nice highlight. "You will!" says Fred,"No, I don't play them!" Jim insists!  :rolling:

I was sending a message to the seller of the shells and stumbled upon an Atari cart of Mario Bros. on Ebay. The first game I saw in the Atari 2600 was Pac Man but if there was a cart of Donkey Kong (I have one), Mario Bros. wasn't far from the tree.

Also, those shells you bought are missing the second piece of plastic on the end needed to hold the pcb in place even if you where to try and use them for anything on the Atari. You got hosed if you bought them thinking they could be used as they are. I'd try canceling the order as you did purchase under false pretense. This is what a proper M-Network shell would look like for the Atari 2600 with both pieces:

Image result for mnetwork 2600 atari

    Will do, thanks Shawn

I have one or two same as your photo. I'm a newbie in this, always wanted an Atari and computers but I kept getting dolls as toys. I grew up as disconnected as you can be in the 80's. My enthusiasm for video games never waned although I didn't have a console, I first saw an Atari 2600 four-switcher at my neighbor's house and I fell in deep love with the console and PacMan.

When you get the package, just keep it sealed, looks like a new breed of collectors are onthe rise and will pay top dollar$$$ for sealed crap, $22K for a super mario bros game?

Anyhoo Atari should have hired Woz instead of Jobs, today instead of Apple Computers it would have been Atari Computers, people would be saying "Im going to sleep over-night in front of the Atari store to get the new Atari Phone"

Maybe Atari is trying to minimize the chip count to under 50 hehehe xD

    Sealed crap? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As long as I can get it sold before the pigeons realize how crappy the "unconsole" is.

I read an article at PowerLint an old one, that the Ataribox would retail at least $249 the cheap one and the expensive one for $389, I could buy a Nintendo Switch etc. with that dough.

Oh and I have an Atari 4 switcher and carts not the cool ones but...I'm happy.
