  1. It also was shitty for him to imply that Pat was somehow hiding his past connection with Mike and Retro Magazine when Pat went into painstaking detail about it the first time they mentioned the Retro VGS on the CU Podcast. That's another thing that really rubbed me the wrong way. John's all pissed that his rep is being besmirched here yet he does the exact same thing to Pat.
  2. Really? He called out Pat for no reason, and pulled the whole "I don't want to start a war" while doing just that, His whole video came off as super defensive and attacking people for pointing out lies told by liars which apparently no one should do because ISIS and starving kids.
  3. My bad. Here's the post. So in his mind the only thing he did wrong was agree to port the game, not defend them after they were exposed and do softball interviews. Plus everyone who was involved in exposing them is apparently part of a lynch mob mentality by demanding accountability.
  4. Sorry, the URL code squished the link, should be here. Works on my end at least. He apologizes here, but then makes a FB post with this line: Dude. You were basically a PR outlet for them even after they were exposed, and you defended them when Pat and Ian did their first podcast segment calling them out saying something to the effect that they didn't have all the facts.
  5. Still, doing that and then going on FB talking about lynch mobs seems disingenuous though.
  6. I kind of lost respect for Gamester81 going for victim status on his FB page https://www.facebook.com/Gamester81/posts/1032603720133039?comment_id=1032696946790383&notif_t=feed_comment_reply On one hand he wasn't involved in the hardware so it is kind of unfair to blow him up over that, but on the other hand he did do that softball interview (that he since pulled down) and continued to let them use his company's game as one of their featured titles even after it was clear they were straight up BS'ing people.
  7. In a previous life, I was involved in a forum regarding tape/DVD trading. It was a good place to find rare items and maybe make a buck or two. What tended to happen a lot is kids would think they can make tons of money doing it, take orders for 100s of DVDs, and then fail spectacularly trying to keep up with the orders. Then that would be followed by panic, excuses, lies, tantrums, and when all that failed there would be a quiet admission that they bit off more than they could chew. I'm hearing a lot of familiar tunes from the Retro VGS people, so after this IGG finishes cratering into the Earth I'd not be surprised to see a long soul-searching post from the team on how gosh darn it, they were just too optimistic.
  8. Man. John (Gamester) is one of my favorite retro gamers on YT just for all the esoteric stuff he reviews, and it's disheartening to see him acting like the negative feedback RGVS is getting is nothing more than jealousy of creative people. I know his company is making games for it, but there's a level of intellectual dishonesty going on that's just unfortunate. I guess on some level it's my own fault for expecting more from people you're fans off.
  9. Agreed. Pat's usually spot on with his assessments of things going on in the industry, and he even was going above and beyond not to take a complete dump on it due to his relationship with Mike. Ian of course had nothing holding him back, which fits his role of being the uncensored id of the show. The company's response has all the professionalism of a toddler not given the toy he wants and having a tantrum over it.
  10. Tracking shows mine will be here tomorrow (well technically later today since it's 3AM now). I can't wait to find out what surprises await.
  11. I went to the Game Again in Cranberry, not a bad little store. Found some 2600 games and a boxed 7800 game I was looking for. The guy gave me a deal the second time I went in and ended up getting a Game Gear game for free since I was buying four other games. Also there's a new gaming store in Penn Hills on Rodi Road called Penn Hills Game Exchange. They have a lot of import stuff like Famicom/Super Famicom/Mega Drive/N64/FDS. I picked up Thexder for Famicom there, they have some non import stuff, but not as much. They've only been open for a couple of months so they don't have the largest selection, but they've already made my list of places to check. Plus it's nice to have a spot to get Famicom games that doesn't require you to bend over for international shipping.
  12. I snagged Meltdown and Crack'ed so those are staying in the AtariAge family.
  13. Bought a box of Famicom games from him, and the deal was great. Fast shipping and great communication.
