  1. Interested in the C64. PM coming. -Rob
  2. I generally do not modify my systems (or have them modded), but I don't have any particular issue with it being done, as long as it is done well. When it comes to playing imports, I prefer to use adapters and the like to play them (Saturn Action Replay, NES Famicom adapter). Most of my systems have not and are not likely to be modified, with the following exceptions: TG16: Region Mod- would have preferred to use an adapter card, but I found a guy that would modify the system for less than the cost of one of the adapters. PS1: the usual mod chip. I'm not big on playing burned games, but I did want to be able to play some japanese games, so I picked this up on the cheap. Aside from this, I intend to figure out how to wire in some connectors on my Intellivision & I may toy around with softmodding one of my xboxes & PS2's. -Rob
  3. I wound up with several sets of the Double Player controllers/receivers and I wasn't particularly impressed. I found them to be somewhat flakey, with delays & apparent missed signals. On a certain level, I'm still impressed that these types of things were avaiable at all back then, but when I compare them to the first-party wireless Sega Genesis controllers...well, the NES ones seem more of a novelty than something I'd actually use. -Rob
  4. Sweet! Can't wait to receive mine (though mine is likely in a later batch). -Rob
  5. Just completed a trade with jc78_2005 and everything went great - he was quick to ship & kept me informed. Thanks!
  6. I purchased one of these about a year ago & have had the same scrambled video problem. Finally decided to work on it this morning and found the same thing - moving the cable caused the output to change. Replaced the cable with one from a broken 5200 & it's back in business. I still have graphical issues (some flickering & distortion at the top/bottom), but it's playable. -Rob
  7. I think I did fairly well this week. Here is what I got from a Value World: All the above was $25- I'm very pleased! Then I picked these up separately at a Salvation Army: Basically 6 bux for the cases, 2 for Xevious. Also got Mutant League Football (not pictured) for the Genesis from Value World. Came without a case, so I just printed out a new cover & used it to repurpose a Madden case. -Rob
  8. Most of the stuff I pick up is @ thrift stores, but I just picked up a NES-themed clock for $2 at a local flea market. And here are a few other recent buys: Taito Legends & Geometry Wars: $12 /ea Contra Hard Corps: $4 Robocop vs Terminator: $5 And the 360...I have had my 2007-build 360 for a few years now, and breakdowns have been becoming quite common. I believe I've had to fix it 5 times now. So...out with the old, and in with the new. And bonus: I won a $110 gift card @ work, so that defrayed the cost of it quite a bit. -Rob -Rob
  9. Very nice! Now, I think I have enough cartridges for a solid...10 second video, lol. -Rob
  10. Had a moment to snap a pic of the contents of my box: Thanks man! -Rob
  11. I have a model 1 and a Telegames version and I actually prefer the Telegames unit. Besides liking the look, I have to say that the removable contorollers are quite convenient, as they work nicely with a generic extension cable. -Rob
  12. Hm, I don't have any deep-seated opinions on original hardware vs emulation, so I have used both. As I enjoy both the tactile and visual feelings of yesteryear, I prefer to collect & use the actual hardware. Seeking out systems/games/accessories has been rather enjoyable for me as well; you never know what you'll find when hitting up the local flea market or walking into a thrift store. If I were solely in it for the games, rather than the search & recreating the old experiences, I probably would switch completely to emulation. That's not the case for me, so it's back to figuring out how to wire everything to a single television... -Rob PS- yeah, I actually have that last part figured out, lol. It involves switchboxes and cables...lots and lots of cables!
  13. Sweet! I do believe that I need to place an order then- this could help me out -Rob
  14. Well, my television currently has 19 devices hooked up to it (most of which are game systems), but my television has three inputs - two composite and one coaxial. The composite systems are fairly easy to work with - just grab the biggest switchbox available (I currently have one 8-port and two 4-ports) and hook them to the AV ouptuts. The RF units have been a bit more of a pain. I have been unable to find a big enough switcher for the coaxial units, so I have had to daisy-chain a few switch boxes together (six systems currently use RF). So...I guess this wasn't much help, lol. Since you already have the RCA to coaxial adapter, I'd just try to minimize the number of switchboxes involved in this. Aside from the usual faulty cable, the picture quality has been fine on my setup. -Rob
  15. I'd like to get in on this- my post count is low, but I did sign up last year. PM on its way. -Rob
  16. Wow, that looks great! Never have seen/heard of it, but I'll be on the lookout for that one. -Rob
  17. When I initially started collecting, I was fine with getting either CIB or loose carts (even with bad labels). These days though, I prefer my Genesis & Master System games to have their cases (don't care about the manuals tho). When it comes to other systems, I don't have any particular need/desire for the cases. Now, when discussing disc based games...they all need a case if they are in my collection. I recently printed a number of covers (From Here) for some of my Sega CD and Sega Saturn games, so I could put them in standard DVD cases. -Rob
  18. Was noticing this as well - It'll be interesting to see exactly what happened. -Rob
  19. Interested in the PSX. PM coming. -Rob
  20. PS2 - Emphermal Fantasia Ugh - talk about a chore of a game to play; having to wait like 10 minutes to get to the boring gameplay. I bought it used for 5 bux and traded it in shortly thereafter for 4 bux. I think it's the only game I ever traded in -Rob
  21. Wow, I can't say I've heard of him, but I'm glad that he is finally being recognized for his accomplishments. -Rob
