  1. I took out the chips one at a time and still only 1.9 volts output from the regulator. I broke a pin of the stupid ribbon cable and the chip near the cartridge slot yet when hooked it up to the tv after testing with each chip out and it does the same thing black static screen with static sound. If I keep messing with this thing I feel I am gonna break it for good.
  2. problem with this board is there are green caps (I think thats what they are) at on end of the chip sockets making it impossible to reach that end. I am afraid if I try to pull out that end I could break those things.
  3. could a voltage regulator from a four switch be used in a heavy sixer?
  4. Okay I am getting 12.5 volts going into the voltage regulator and 1.5 coming out. Is that normal? I checked the gray capacitor and the red resister, the voltage going in was 12.5 volts, Did the voltage regulator blow?
  5. Okay I got a voltmeter from Walmart today. How and what do I test on the board?
  6. Adventure - more castles and more dragons. Also there is a nasty bug in when one dragon eats you are there are others on the screen they eat you from the first dragon's stomach. Asteroids - asteroids mostly move up and down not left ,right ,and diagonally like the arcade
  7. I looked at the system board and the chips are in sockets. Does this mean someone worked on it before?
  8. I don't wanna wreck another atari 2600. I have a soldering iron ,solder remover ,and solder. I did some reflow work a few years ago on my intellvision which fixed it. Many many years ago I killed an atari 2600 when I replaced the joystick connector with one from a dead commdore 64. That unit never worked again.
  9. What about the foil over the switches do I need it? The foil on the heavy sixer tore. Maybe someone here might wanna fix it for me.
  10. I don't know how to do that. Could swapping a switch from a 4 switcher work I have two? I know the red resister by the switch gets hot.
  11. I don't see anything wrong with the power switch. is there anyway to open the power switch?
  12. The picture poped and jumped for awhile and on adventure the black bars were in the center of the screen. Then I tried to fry pacman and now all I get is a black screen with little static. Is there any way to fix this? IMG_28621.MOV
  13. How did you change the playfields? I don't see them in hack o matic.
  14. My dad waited in line at a Sears store at Jamestown Mall in St. Louis to get the game. We played it like crazy. Dad and I used to get the ghosts stuck in the tunnels. They would go in and out of the tunnels and never come out until you finished the level. One of my favorite tricks to play in the game was to eat a power pill before the eyes could turn back into ghosts and then they would sit in the box and look like the game was staring at you. Too bad no one has tried to change the layout of the maze or put tunnels on the sides.
  15. Do you notice how pacman covers the dots when he moves to the left but they are visible in his mouth until he eats them while moving to the right? Can that be fixed? I recently got Sears Tele games Pacman because thats the version we had when I was a kid. My dad waited in line at Sears at Jamestown Mall in St. Louis to buy it. Now Jamestown is closed and waiting for the wrecking ball.
  16. Do those things allow you to change games with the power on?
  17. Are you trying to get all the pong consoles? Do you have any other cartridges for that Telestar Arcade?
  18. Here are the roms i made. I changed the layout of the screen and pacman slightly. Collision detection is messed up. pacmanb.a26 pacmanb2.a26
  19. The roms are there but the disassembly didn't save for some reason.
  20. I was changing the binary numbers of the lines with the stars It says the rom was saved but it doesn't appear on my hard drive anywhere and the disassembly is not saveable.
  21. I was changing the playfield in atari 2600 and stella won't save the changed rom when I type save rom in the prompt window and it keeps saying disassembly file is not writable why? The playfiled data is between LFE0A and LFE11
  22. I got it and I adjusted it already. Gives off sharp blue now and ghosts are blue when power pills are eaten.
  23. I don't know how to turn the color potentiometer and where it is located.
  24. I think I found the problem. This component near the power switch is leaking white powder and it's on both sides of the board. Anyone seen this before?
