just got a NES top loader also with Metroid, Legendary Wings, 1942, and something else... Games work on 1st fire!!!! YES!! No more blowing on cartridges 10 times over!
Actually contact cleaner does wonders for front loading consoles...used it on mine combined with brasso and each game fires up first time like a top loader
I cleaned the contact on the top loader with q-tips and rubbing alcohol, I am now cleaning each game 1 time before I put them in and it's firing instantly.
