  1. By the way, it's not that it has more sound effects, it's that it can play more at a time of the ECS is plugged in, so it is a bit enhanced. dZ.
  2. The ESC as a computer module is crap. Absolute crap. (I know, it was my first computer!) The tape support was for user programs made in BASIC. All real games came in cartridge. You could make your own programs, but the computer module was so crippled that it was rather pointless. However, it does include additional system RAM and an extra sound chip that adds three more voices, so it is definitely worth it. In addition to the ECS-specific games, some home-brews take advantage of the additional sound capabilities. For instance, Space Patrol uses them to play additional simultaneous sound effects during game-play. Newer games may do more. -dZ.
  3. Oh! Sorry. Looks cool! By the way, I suppose the bunkers are MOBs. Are you XORing the bullet on the GRAM card on collision?
  4. There's something missing in your To-Do list: - Threaten the player somehow. LOL!
  5. Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Ross Hmm, I suppose that isn't legal. Let's try again, Can't Get Used To Losing You - Renegade Soundwave
  6. What do you mean "original" and "pretty much impossible"? The Intellivision should have no trouble replicating it (minus the vector graphics, of course), but original is one of the very first video games and is kind of lame by itself. It's more like a mini-game. -dZ.
  7. Kids In America - Kim Wilde
  8. Is that the third or fourth mini-game? AWESOME!!!!! I always wanted to explore the surface of Mars, scientifically of course. -dZ.
  9. The "maybe" is mine, I've never heard of it. -dZ.
  10. Beautiful! Watch out on that last shelf of the first photo... it's sagging!
  11. Don't forget me... I should be in the list...
  12. Break Out - Swing Out Sisters
  13. Only In My Dreams - Debbie Gibson (Sorry guys, but... it's in my vinyl collection... a remnant of my DJ'ing days back in the 80s)
  14. Dude, Whatever it is, you know I'm in!
  15. A language is fine, but like GroovyBee said, the hardware has such constraints, you would need to include some sort of abstraction with basic drivers and kernels. Otherwise, you'll end up with PEEK-n-POKEing most of the code just to get anything done, which of course negates most of the advantage of the high level language. Obviously, the ideal is to have both, a high-level language with built-in kernels and game programming framework. P-Machinery aims for the second part, which I think is sorely missing right now. Adding a high-level language around it may come later. dZ.
  16. That is correct. There is jzIntv, but it is a command line program. If you feel comfortable with typing commands, I would recommend it. There is also a GUI that somebody made for it that is a barebones launcher, but at least you get to post and click. Here's a link to jzIntv for the Mac. Let me know if you need help with it. dZ.
  17. Hmm... I wonder how Carol drives with a stick... Can anybody offer some feedback? -dZ.
  18. OK, back on topic, which was off topic to begin with: Never Say You Love Me - David Lyme
  19. Nah, that one's Carl. I would work on Pac-Man, though... oh I have. LOL! Seriously, Pac-Man is one of my favorite games of all time, and the thing I like the most about it is the simplicity of design that results in such sophisticated game-play. -dZ.
