  2. I believe Good Deal Games sells the English edition of Revival. By the way, thanks for the kind words.
  3. You're right about the joystick metal restrictor. I thought you meant that the game code couldn't register change events with the joystick already pressed (like some games do). It is true that with the physical joystick, it requires more effort--and thus, time--to switch directions than to start from the center point. -dZ.
  4. I passed it on to Joe. I don't think he is interested though. By the way, there's a good D2K review as well on the same issue. You should get a copy. dZ.
  5. Says the guy who first rolled the "color coded" score.
  6. Here. The game is free, and it is exactly the same version being sold. The difference is the collectible cartridge, box, and glossy manual, only available in the purchased version. The fluidity of the controls of Christmas Carol on the real Intellivision controller disc are hard to beat, and worth the price itself. -dZ.
  7. LOL! Perhaps someday. No plans for it, though; Christmas Carol is an Intellivision exclusive title right now.
  8. Have you at least played the ROM? It's free, you know.
  9. Actually, in the arcade, you can hold your direction, and change it at any time. You can make decisions early and "corner" by just chaining directions, whether you were holding it or not. As a matter of fact, that's how I play: I only tend to release the joystick on long corridors. Fun fact: this functionality was reproduced in Christmas Carol (which started as a Pac-Man port many moons ago). With the Intellivision disc, it turned out to be tricky, since the most "natural" use of the disc is to roll your thumb around it. Nonetheless, Carol does a pretty good job at letting you "corner" and flip directions on a dime, just like the Pac-Man arcade--something I feel is sorely missing the AtariSoft's port. Now, on to the topic: I agree, you cannot treat Moustrap as Pac-Man. You have to let go of the controller and only press it on intersections. It's treated sort of like a switch, in that the next direction is only acknowledged at the necessary points, and only when the disc is push from rest. At least from what I remember. Mousetrap is one of those games I remember having as a kid, and I seem to recall enjoying it--but I can't really stand it now. -dZ.
  10. I just received a copy of the English edition of the Revival homebrew magazine, Issue #45, which showcases Christmas Carol in a wonderful review by Michael Thomasson, of Good Deal Games. The French edition has another review by editor RayXambeR. Both give the game an 8 out of 10, and offer some very nice compliments. (shucks!) Below is a photo of the two page spread on the magazine, for those who don't have a copy. That said, Revival is an outstanding magazine, published quarterly, covering the homebrew scene of all retro-consoles--including our very own Intellivision scene! It is always a good idea to support their efforts. You can find out more information about the publication on their web site. Thanks to Michael and Cyril--and all other reviewers as well--for giving my game a chance and for taking the time and effort to write their reviews. Thanks also to all who played the game. I'm really overjoyed by the community response. -dZ.

  16. I believe William posted an animated GIF (or is it gifeo now? Kids and their slang!) with a fair amount of game play in it.
  17. Sorry, I didn't see the common word. I missed it. DOH!

  19. Hmm... What? I don't see which word you based your song on... That's all.
  20. LOL! It has nothing to do with Intellivision. I guess someone thought they were smart by making a portmanteau of "Intelligence" and "Vision." Meh. -dZ.
