Yeah, I'm not gonna get down on you for linking to your forum. You came bearing gifts, so that's worth something! It's a nicely designed calendar, I'm definitely going to have it printed up and it's going to be my 2015 office calendar.

I like it! Awesome way of taking something from the store and turning it into something cool for your needs.

If it's a well-done classic review, I don't mind them. Especially if they talk about it with a modern lens. There's some games from the days of yore that aren't as easy to play now, and it's nice to know about those. Ultimately, YouTube is a place where folks can upload videos for free, so you're going to end up with a lot of junk.

Oh no! Allgame.com shutting down Dec 12th

I wasn't able to pull the entire thing either. In the log file it mentioned finding over 100,000 pages and the program died. So for pulling large websites like this, it doesn't seem to like it. Looks like the Internet Archive is the best way to go! -

Mines sitting at nearly 2 gigs as of now (Had to restart the whole bloody thing because of a harddrive error). I'll let it run as long as I can, we'll see what happens. Worst case is utlizing the Web Archive as RandomTerrain pointed out. -

I must admit, I haven't checked. Was your transfer completely finished? Mine isn't done, it's a large transfer and my internet isn't running the quickest today. -

Looks like the file is going to be pretty large, so I'm going to have to split it up into multiple smaller files. Where would be a good place to upload it when the time comes? -
Thanks for the replies! I'll have to think about which direction I want to go. Getting a Coleco controller and USB adapter costs more than getting a Flashback, 2 Vision adapters alone are almost $65.

I'm pulling a local backup of the site using WinHTTrack. If anyone wants a copy of the backup, I'm sure I can upload it. -
Ah, I didn't even notice that. My bad then! Sorry Nerdlandia, I might be way off-base with my comments. My apologies.

Consoles you just can't get excited about
TPA5 replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Xbox One and PS4. There's not nearly enough console-exclusives that are decent enough to make me even consider dropping several hundred dollars on a current-gem system. -
Any component in any piece of hardware is going to have a set lifespan, whether it's thousands, ten-thousands, or perhaps even hundreds-of-thousands of hours, eventually it will fail. Leaving the DS won't necessarily do any immediate damage, but it will "shorten" the life of the unit in the sense that the components are wearing down at a rate that's faster than if you were using it for gaming only. While I want to say that the difference would be negligible in the long run, you never know.

No offence mate, but those prices seem pretty par for the course to be honest. Not trying to get down on your or anything, but a game like Rogue Ops for instance isn't that uncommon. I can get a CIB copy from eBay for $22 with free shipping. I've seen minty Goldeneye CIB copies for less than $60, I wouldn't consider a CIB Wave Race worth $30, not sure what games come with the N64 but $110 isn't a stunning deal, and I'm not sure how Ecco the Dolphin for the Dreamcast is rare and somehow worth $75, and $100 for a Donkey Kong 64 is pretty par for the course, if not even a little high. I'm not trying to get down on you, but when you make it sound like you're all about putting the player first and beating eBay prices, I shouldn't be able to beat your prices with a few minutes of surfing eBay.

So let's say for someone like me who wants to try the ColecoVision, but doesn't want to commit to the price of scoring an original console plus games, would this be a good option? I already have enough consoles in my house I don't have the time/money to collect for, so I'm not sure I want to be adding another one.

Any PC gamers here cause I have a question
TPA5 replied to TheObscureGamer's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Well, I stand corrected then I must admit. Anything above 30fps is playable, since consoles generally lock the framerate to 30 anyway. -
Man, I wish I could find a $20 TI-99/4a where I live.

This is why I will purchase a Wii U. Hands down.

Will XBox live go down on Christmas day?

I would be embarrassed to take credit for a DDoS attack. -

Where are you getting those numbers from in terms of FPS? I must admit I am somewhat dubious to think that rig can run those games at max settings with those kind of numbers. What resolution is that at? I mean hey if it does that's great, go for it, but I just have a hard time imagining that rig pulling those kind of numbers. -
I think this one works with just good old infrared lights, like a TV remote. At least, the Wii clone I saw worked like that. So it's not really detecting motion, just essentially triggering a button event when pointed away from the screen.

I was thinking, "Aren't we all nerds here?". Good find mate, you paid a heck of a lot less than I did for my Atari 8-Bit! And you got the printer, which is awesome.

From the "Stupid Sellers" category - should be self explanatory

I think he took the pictures in the middle of a hurricane. -
I like almost everything about this, but I wish the physical shape of this item was a rectangle, instead of a disc. I don't mind the extra bit of cable, but I'd rather all the connections came out the front.
