  1. Yes it's part of the game design. At the beginning of the game you have the option to start at waves 1, 6 or 11. Similarly, after every 5th wave you can pick the next wave or warp 5 or 10 ahead. So after wave 5 you can continue to 6 or warp to 11 or 16.
  2. It doesn't look like anyone has a strong opinion either way. Go ahead and warp after 5 if you'd like. Amazing scores by the way. I can't even imagine how one would even begin to build a 700k combo.
  3. I assumed since we were starting on wave 1 that we'd going through the waves sequentially. I'm personally not skilled enough at this game for that to make a difference one way or the other. How does everyone else feel about warping after stage 5?
  4. 70,950 Don't forget, like I did, that you can press up to throw the top tile back onto the ramp.

  7. I was thinking about this some more today and I have to agree with mdb30. The tie scores should all get the same points. Any sort of tie breaker I come up with at this point is arbitrary and unfair because it wasn't in the rules when we started the round. There was no way for anyone to optimize their game play for time or lives or whatever. I had also thought about scrapping the LSC points altogether, but then that's not fair to those who participated vs those who didn't. So for this round at least 10,000 will get you 25 and it'll scale down from there. In the future I'll be sure to add some tie breaking criteria to these things from the start. Chalk this one up to ignorance and a learning experience.
  8. I wasn't sure what to expect with the LSC. Before posting this I never tried to get through the first level without firing a shot (i.e. I didn't play test it). I just thought it would be a fun and interesting twist on the game. I frankly thought there'd be a bit more score variety. However, since several of us have found the optimal path to hit 10,000 I've been trying to determine the fairest method of awarding season points to these tie scores. I think it makes sense to award points according to when the score was posted. Therefore, at this point bubufubu would take 25 for posting first, mbd30 20 for second, etc. Please let me know if you feel that's in any way unfair or if you have a better idea.
  9. 2,479,000 Nearly completed the fourth loop. Made a dumb mistake at the heart and it all went to hell. I thought I had it that time, but those friggin' spiders weren't having it. I guess that'll stay a goal for another day.
  10. 1,722,600 This attempt started off terribly. I didn't think I was going to make it through the first loop. Nearly completed the third.
  11. Whew. That's a lot of Contra. I'm guessing that took about 2.5 to 3 hours. You earned that one. I'll be happy if I can complete the fourth loop.
  12. Out of curiosity, how many loops does that take?
  13. That concludes round 2. Points Awarded: Magmavision2000 174,900 +25 mbd30 167,700 +20 Razzie.P 164,800 +17 empsolo 83,000 +14 asponge 69,700 +12 tman03 29,500 +10 roadrunner 20,100 +8 AtariSphinx 16,200 +7 fakecortex 10,700 +6 jblenkle 8,100 +5
  14. Up next is one of my personal NES favorites. This round has both a high score and a low score competition. Each will be awarded separate season points according to the standard scoring chart below. Normal rules apply for the HSC. Just play until you run out of lives. For the LSC play through just the first level and note your score between levels 1 and 2. Please indicate if you're posting an HSC or LSC score. Finally, I'm going to automatically take last place in the HSC with regard to season points. This is one that I've played a ton so I don't feel right choosing it without some sort of handicap. I hope you all enjoy. HSC Game Rules: Manual No Continues LSC Game Rules: Complete the first level and record your score between levels 1 and 2. Screenshots are not required. 15. 69,700 I really suck at the bonus round.
  16. Nah, I don't normally need to add much, if anything under the rules so I can see how it'd be easy to miss.
  17. I just removed it from the scoreboard. Again, sorry for the confusion.
  18. Version 1.4 was specified under the game rules when I originally posted. It's rare we have different versions like that, but next time I'll make sure I call more attention to it. Sorry that you wasted time with the wrong version.
  19. 25,800 This is a new one for me too. I've got long way to go!
  20. Me too. I tried, but just couldn't get it done. 🤷‍♂️

  22. Up next by request is the old school fighting game Yie Ar Kung-Fu. I couldn't find much in the way of a manual, but this one's pretty straight forward. Kick and punch your opponent until you knock them out. Then do it again. There are five different opponents. The game loops after the fifth and the difficulty increases. As far as I know the game will continue to loop forever if you have the skills to keep going. Have fun!
