Do you live in an area where there are arcades with an as good or better selection of working games than that place? You are very lucky. Not everybody looks at arcade games as either Pac-Man or so what.
Fortunately for the folks that live around here, the Chicagoland area has quite a few legitimate arcades. Not that they're taken for granted. Frankly, I'm waiting for the Retrocade to reopen because the place was really nice and their games were always in good condition.
Don't forget Star Worlds in DeKalb.
As I was reading this thread I was thinking the same thing before I got to your post. They have a decent selection, but it's definitely a hike if you live in Chicago.
I also wanted to mention (while we're on the subject of hard to find games) that if you're into pinball and in the Chicagoland area, Enchanted Castle in Lombard has a fairly nice pinball room with about 15-20 tables. I took the kids over there not too long ago and was pleasantly surprised to find this.

I know absolutely zero about prototype carts, but can someone explain to me why the cart in the first image in the auction is clearly not the same cart in all of the other images? It's almost like the guy accidentally uploaded the image he used to create the forgery.

I remember this commercial. The kid with the "toy robot" that's like "WTF?" always seemed ridiculous to me even as a child. Although I agree with the sentiment.

Would I be able to jump in mid-season?
Yeah. Anyone's welcome to jump in anytime.

That's a good theory, but you're the one who is incorrect, not me. Just because Nintendo slapped their logo and gave it a parts number does not mean they made it. If you open an NES Advantage, you can see ASCIIware's logo printed on the pcb, along with manufacturing information that clearly and unrefutably links it with ASCIIware, not Nintendo.
Well, I opened one up and no there is no ASCIIware logo printed on the PCBs. The only identifying marking is JAKING which I assume is Shenzhen Jaking Electronics, Co. All that means to me is that Nintendo outsourced the manufacturing of the device to this company. I don't see anything that irrefutably links the device with ASCIIware.
I took some shots of the boards so that you can see for yourself.

if you don't hit these dead center they actually get stuck.
Seconded. I still kind of like the stick, but the iffy buttons suck.
Yes, those buttons can stick occasionally, especially if a bit of dirt gets down in there,
I'm really surprised to read these posts. I've been using mine for going on 25 years and I've never experienced a stuck button.
NOT made by Nintendo, it was a licensed product of ASCIIware
This is not correct. The original NES Advantage was manufactured by Nintendo. You can tell because it has the Nintendo logo on the device and a NES-026 part number on the bottom. Third party licensed products are not going to have those markings. Case in point is the Super Advantage. Nowhere on the controller does the Nintendo logo appear. I don't own one, but I'm guessing there is also no SNS part number on it either.

I got through the entire first course on one life and then proceeded to lose all but one to a frackin' tank on the edge of a crater. grrrr.

I just lost three lives trying to get through that exact part. I didn't make it.

Have always loved this game. One of my all time favorties.
Me too. My buddy and I used to play this at the roller rink when we were young. One of us would man the joystick and jump while the other would handle the fire button. Good times.
