  1. (Off topic-- why do straight jpg attachments get rotated 90 degrees sometimes?)
  2. Thanks for the post! I think the world needs a sealed adapter that's around $20 that sits between an existing controller and the 5200, so you can still use CX52 for start/pause and the keypad. Do these exist? I've seen the $89 ones of ebay, and of course the masterplay.
  3. 2150. This is a pissy little game. Once the bad guys started firing, I gave up. May revisit this game with digital controllers someday.
  4. When turned green, the paths have to lead back to that starting point they indicate. I tried it a handful of times and it's growing on me. (I miss the days when games could be slightly different from each other, though of course you still had gluts of shooters or maze munching or whatever)
  5. 3090. Once you save the earth, you have to save it again, eh?
  6. Yep, I understand. Part of the interest for me is the fact that it would NOT be with paddles, and Super Breakout takes you right back to the console's release and all the hopes and dreams :-) Just think of all the people ripping open the box and firing up Super Breakout! :-)
  7. This would be awesome! I think you'd be very surprised how many people would buy this at the $50 level. The Atari 5200 has been out 30+ years and will easily be out 30+ more... getting these boxes out there in the hands of the users would be a great gift for the Atari community-- It's only going to get harder and harder to get Masterplays and the like,.
  8. I'm in, and I'll vote for Super Breakout (cavity variation) and Kabaoom! (default settings).
  9. Ah gotcha, I was thinking too hard. So if you only have two out of three games there ya go. Thanks!
  10. Can you explain the bold quote for a newbie? Thanks!
  11. Bah, not enough playtime. Here's 20750 for the bottom.
  12. I'm just trying to finish the race :-) First time playing PP on the 5200, and I'm impressed by how good the OE controller really is for this game. Actually, the GAME impresses the hell out of me. There's a lot of action when you're weaving between cars! I can't imagine how excited someone in 1983 would be to have this at home all for themselves!
  13. Seriously. This needs to be done so our generation can pass it on (with documentation) to future generations.
  14. 19780 Not a bad game. I used the MESS emulator and there was herky-jerky scrolling left and right and lots of monster flicker, but it was still kinda fun.
  15. 15,280 Megamania was one of my favorites from my 2600 days, so I don't think my muscle memory was able to get past the 5200 controllers. I spent three sessions (30-60min each) and got better and better, but just couldn't get past the dumb mistakes. I do think it's a wonderful game, however, and it has that perfect amount of frustration and "I can do just a BIT better next time!" that has me going for the reset button. Part of the fun for me was finding my old Ken Uston book in storage from 1983 which talked about strategy in this game-- he recommends on levels 2, 4 etc to shoot out the middle to create a safe area (had I known this earlier it would have helped-- I kept running out of energy on those types of levels). Someday I'll have digital joysticks! :-)
  16. I don't even have my package yet, but your enthusiasm, backstory (helpful son), prices, and email updates make this one of the most awesome transactions ever! Thanks!
  17. I think you qualify for the Activison Patch at 45k, right? Good job! :-)
  18. Is there a formal effort to make those Atari 5200 games work flawlessly with digital controllers? (e.g. Ms. Pac-Man) (A patched/fixed ROM, for example)
  19. Wow. Any tips for keyword searching? Just look for PC controller, then grab something the size of the Atari 5200 plug? Or is there visible product number/markings indicating it's for the 5200? thanks!
  20. Ok, I'm done. I don't know if I ever want to pull this game out for another few years! 16,700 points.
