so I made mash potatoes tonight for dinner, and my daughter had one bite, she asked if she could have more. I said of course, and I turn around to grab a little bowl for her and when I look back she had walked off with the entire gallon container I had made them in.

Why is it, the book I want, is the one I can't find.

Woo, just saw I made 2000 posts. Let's party!
-edit, lets take the suggestion from @cvga but party like it's Back in '89!

Wow, I just 'liked' a 16 year old comment because I didn't notice it was a necro-bump. That's a new one!

The last skating rink near me closed its doors forever and the building is up for sale. The 1920's skating rink near me packed it in nearly a year ago and it still had all it's 80's arcade games.

Pole Position for the 2600 arrives in the mail today. Ever since I played the 7800 sequel, I've become interested in other ports of the game.

my gamedrive was stolen today.
I had been scheduled to receive my gamedrive today, Order #24830. It was stolen from my front porch before I got home. I found the box a block away, ripped open. Before we discuss any possible replacements--i wondered--could you possibly deactivate the QR code that is associated to my lynx gamedrive? Maybe stop the thief from using it?
Order #24830, any help is appreciated.

Is 1478 a good score in Kaboom... Or am I bad at the game?

I was able to knock the wasp nest down. About a dozen or so wasps appeared looking around frantically. I guess the next step is to spray and call someone. Terminix's phone wasn't working.
-
We discovered a nest in our basketball hoop (support bracket). One of the plastic caps had come off and hornets built a nest in it. They weren't very happy (possibly because our shots were so bad). They came storming out so we taped up the opening and then killed them one by one as they returned. I'd prefer not to kill them but I more heavily prefer them not to be so close.
Thanks for the dawn/water tip. I'm going to create a spray bottle.

My mom passed away this morning. She was not only my mom, but a friend.

I dare you. Go up to a tough-guy, pull on his mask, and let it snap back!

Have been craving getting a good 80's digital watch lately, metal with a metal elastiband. A Casio, Seiko, or Timex i think. What else should i look into? Swatch?
-
Timex just restocked their 40th anniversary Pacman stainless steel 34mm watch. It's $80 and they've been offering some type of special (15% off, free shipping, etc) many days. I ordered one that is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
You can see tons of them on eBay. They were selling for $200+ but now all of the sellers are offering "discounts".

There are almost weekly complaints about thieves taking stuff out of unlocked cars on nextdoor.com. When did people stop locking their cars?

Last Wednesday, on the 27th of may, my cat, Toby, died of kidney failure. He was about 13 and a half years old, having been born in December 2006, and as I am only nearly 16, I have known him for all of my living memory. I didn't interact with him all the time as he was often out, and I didn't usually worry or notice not seeing him for most of a day, so it has felt surprisingly normal after his death. That is not to say I don't miss him. The first day after his death was the worst, though we had sort of already started mourning before he died when we knew he was on the way out.

Thank you Geico for having RATT in your commercial. Now listening to a Youtube stream. I forgot how good these guys are.

Covid 19 test came today.
Hopefully this one will come up clear, though I have been feeling a bit rough again in the last 48 hours, I have to admit.
At least I'll know, either way.
This one is part of the bulk sample screening program which should give feedback to the government about the progress of the virus and give them data to respond as necessary.
As I said before, even if I have this for another month or two I will have felt I have been very lucky to have come through.
Stay safe

Although I had never seen one episode of Jeopardy!; I heard the name a couple of times referenced in US tv shows and clearly remember it being a quiz show that Monk's annoying but endearing next door neighbour won his fortune on, before meeting his untimely fate a couple of seasons later at the hands of a nefarious magician.
Last year, completely out of the blue and without any warning or promotion
Netflix put a whole bunch of episodes on its UK Platform one morning.
None of us have ever seen this show, I can't remember it ever airing here in any form even as a UK version and as a no-nonsense quiz fan I was instantly hooked and promptly devoured the lot in 4 days.
Too many UK game shows have too much chatting away to the contestants and they are stretched out to an hour.
I prefer shorter, tighter, quick fire quiz shows where no-one really cares how you earn your money or what you like to do when you have down time.
Are you any good at quizzing is all I want to know!
I'm not 100% with the answer as a question business but other than that brilliant,
The only problem is I now want more Jeopardy! but it has been ages and they haven't bothered to put any more on.

What do you get a Mother on Mother's Day who just lost her daughter?

I'm 1/3 in shock, 1/3 sad, and 1/3 angry.
