COvid 19 Day 19
Ok so yesterday I felt pretty good, No I felt better than that, I felt I'm getting somewhere now.
Last night shocked me because by the late evening around 7 pm I had the most excruciating headache.I took Lemsip, (contains paracetamol) didn't help.
I took a dose of cough medicine (didn't work & today the cough is back *a bit!) this didn't help either.
So I thought fuck it, and took an Ibruprofen which until recently had been my go-to pain relief for migraines.
I work up around 11, having had a very good nights sleep (I think the cough medicine might make me drowsy, which is good) and the headache though still there, is 100% manageable.
As someone prone to Migraines yesterday was on par with a really bad one.
Feels like I am now on the second day and it has subsided. Nice.
Because I am taking Iron because I have Iron Deficiency Aneamia as well, some of these symtoms might cross over with side effects. I am taking quite a heavy dose.
I am just thankful that I was taking medication for the IDA before I got this.
If I wasn't and taking it religiously, I think I would really be in trouble because IDA takes away a lot of your energy and the lack of oxygen in the blood seriously effects your ability to breath. But on that score I have been doing very little. Minimal housework and watching tv on the sofa and in bed and reading. That is the limit to my exertion for now.
Get over this and I'll happily to tackle other issues like my Underactive Thyroid.
I tell you I have more bits broken than working, but I won't give up!
Stay positive people. Catch up on reading which can be a wonderful escape from boredom.
Look after yourselves . Do take this seriously!
If you have an opportunity to stock up on some of the things I have been using to self medicate I recommend you do so. They can always stay in the bathroom cupboard for other occasions and it is good to have some stuff when needed.Even if it doesn't all work on a physical level I know it helps on a psychological level, regardless.
Thank you all for your kind words , encouragement and support !
It means a lot to me and I am touched by the kindness of strangers in a time of need. This is from one of my favourite things of all time, Jeff Wayne's magnificent War of the Worlds re-interpretation.
If you know WotW you will see the irony in this post. I'm not trying to be clever, well only a little, I just LOVE this song, and it features THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WORTH LIVING FOR.
Only when you feel you might not make it, do you go through all the things you have to live for !
Ps
Some of the lovely things people have been doing during this crisis really does restoresome of my faith in humanity.
Be lucky!

Yep, that's Bonk from Bonk's Adventure (or Revenge, or Big Adventure, etc). I love my TurboGrafx and have all of the US released games other than Magical Chase. Ironically, since we've been staying at home due to covid, my hair is out of control and I haven't shaved he isn't representative of a profile pic at all
Hang in there!

Covid 19 Day 18
Got a good night's sleep yesterday and woke up feeling good this morning.
I've got a lingering background headache, which is probably not helped by my spending most of yesterday on here staring at my laptop!
I've got a low-level background or very occasional cough. Mucus is coming up often but it is just of the normal type no dark colours no foam. I am assuming this is my body's way of forcing out the germs.
This morning I noticed a marked improvement in the pain I had been feeling.
Previously I had had sharp and tight squeezing pains to my sides; as well as stabbing pain in my chest when I breathed deeply or when I would go into a coughing fit which would also trigger a deep almost agonising head pain.
The cough is very infrequent now. I can't cough in that deep way anymore and there is no associated head discomfort.
We are getting there !
I know I was making an analogy about getting a train home. I think I just made one of my four connections.
I'm tired and I am feeling a bit weak but I am on my way home.
Round 10 of 15. Have some of that, you fucker ! -
COVid 19 Day 15
Chest was very tight last night. I was still able to sleep for a few hours.
Specific pain now in two small regions and it hurts far more if I lie on my back.
Frothy White Sputum coming up regularly and I am more wheezy.
I'm still able to take big gulps of air when needed and I am doing so.
I am breathing in as slow and ponderous as I can to try to keep some control. Fortunately I never have smoked.
Hard to distinguish if my Asthma is playing a part or it is this.
Can't tell if the Frothy White Sputum is part of this or as a result of my GERD. Probably a combination of both. I'm using my Inhalers.
Despite having various existing health conditions I wasn't considered 'at risk' so don't get any priority in ordering food or anything and everyone is buying up all the 'proper' food like meat cheese bread pasta. I'm living off mainly junk. I'm running out of soap and the only stuff out there because of people's greed is the cheap nasty perfumed stuff that sets off my Eczema.
Going to rest now. Feeling a bit sad. Stay safe ! -
COvid 19, Day 13.
I just wanted to pop on quickly and to take a moment to thank all of you that have left kind messages and indicators of support. 🐼🐹🐨🦘🐰
Complete rest has made me feel a *little better, and although I might have a long way back, I am buoyed by your thoughts kind wishes and I am determined to give it my very best shot.
Once again I'd like to remind you all to take this thing seriously as initially I thought it was going to be a mild case of flu, and maybe for 80% that is the case, I'd estimate I am in the last 15-10%.I'm taking a good shoeing, but I am hopeful, and I am feeling more positive as a direct results of the nice things you, people I don't even know have said.
Thanks again & keep safe -
219 CEOs stepped down in January 2020 and over 1,000 in 2019? Weird.

Wife's family waiting for an ambulance down in Cardiff. Mother-in-law showing symptoms of Covid-19. Having severe breathing difficulties. Seems to be a bit of a hotbed down there. Friend's daughter tested positive a few days ago.

I think within the past three days, I've only had about a day and a half worth of sleep.

Is it time to sell off the stock portfolio before it loses another 5-10k or more like it's 2008 all over again? Or would that be alarmist?
-
Does anybody still save their change and wrap them up in coin rolls to be converted to cash at the bank anymore? I stopped using Coinstar since they started to increase their fees.
-
I am recovering from my first (And hopefully last!) kidney stone I've ever had. Doing better today, but I'm going to take tomorrow off from work again to get myself back in order.
-
Zork is awesome.

I don't know about others, but I don't get excited about promises for hundreds of thousands of imaginary dollars. Not until they're real money that I realistically can earn, it gets interesting.

I am surprised the "expert panel" predicted such a close score in the Ohio-Michigan game -- 36-34, 28-24, etc.. Buckeyes destroyed Michigan. I knew it wouldn't be that close.

Went to an Amish country store this weekend, you would not believe the deals. A big bundle of string cheese with about 50 sticks for $5. Its pretty far out in the sticks but worth the trip

It's feeling like a beer and A8 kinda evening. Oil's Well, Miner 2049er, Galactic Chase, Alley Cat, Blue Max... what else?

Just when I thought I cleared out all of my spare intellivision stuff I find another box full of games

Certainly will be happy to be discharged from the hospital. They’ve been treating me well, but two weeks is enough to not be sleeping in my own bed :-)
-
Tornados in Ohio. I'm hanging out in the basement.

maybe there is some wisdom in the whole don't catalog your collection as I now have a spare copy of casino poker for the channel f, which will be for sale in a few days (forgot my flea market finds at my brothers house)
