  1. I remember playing Target Fun at Sears (our Sears was primarily a mail order store back then so I didn't get much time) before I got an Atari. I'd always check out the kiosks at Sears and K-mart when we went shopping. One of my fondest memories was going to mall near my grandma's with my cousin. My cousin talked the salesman at Sears into opening a brand new Grand Prix box so we could test the game to see if we liked it. I had just been released and we felt like we were the first to get to play it (at least at that store). We liked it so much I decided to purchase the game, much to the relief of the sales guy.

Someone at his house picked up the phone and confirmed he does live there. The woman on the other end said that he's a very good person and is surprised he would do something like that. She says she will ask him to call me back. [Sounds like a possible landlord].

I have to ask. What is the definition of a landlord in Canada? I'd be surprised if he was renting such an expensive place and if so, more surprised if his landlord lives with him.

He's relisted it again, claiming the cart is real. What a scumbag. He knows damn well it's fake.

It's not even a good reproduction. At least he is now saying that the box and manual are fake. Everyone should send him a message to let him know the cart is fake also. He's clearly a novice regarding Atari and may appreciate our help.

  5. I used to buy double density disks and use a hole punch to create another notch to use the other side. I think everyone did that. However, I was being silly and meant they should have had you turn the disk around (same side up) to load the other game. I don't think it would matter or the disk drive would even know. Would have been cool to mimic the carts :)

  6. That's an old post but is probably still pretty accurate. I know Al hurt his hand or wrist recently which slowed down the manufacturing process. That may still be lingering. My past experience has ranged from a week to maybe a month or so. However, the quality is always top notch, he's a great guy and there's something about getting a new game that still excites me.

    Which games did you order?

Happy birthday to the tracker! As noted, it all began one gloomy Sunday in October 2008 when @cvga decided to start logging how much his 9 year old daughter played Seawolf, and from that it has grown into a multi-million business fun for everyone and 2,235,314 minutes (that is 1552.3 days or 4.25 years) of tracked gameplay over 9517 different games for every possible and sometimes impossible console, computer, handheld and others designed before the year 2000.

I had forgotten about that. She really enjoyed Seawolf but just moved and fired like crazy. I remember her playing one incredibly long game and getting an unheard of score while I was working on something and not really paying attention. Turns out she died twice with only one ship left which rolled the counter backwards to the maximum number of ships instead of zero. Fun times. She's 21 and a senior in college now. Time flies.

Phil, you reminded me of my first wristwatch.  It wasn't digital, but it was from Bradley.  It was a Mickey Mouse watch that I had when I was around 8 years old.  I found a picture of one online.  Man, I used to love that watch.

JayAre, that's a cool watch. Do you still have it? I don't have the Hot Wheels one. A much older kid on the bus asked if he could look at it and refused to give it back. I told the bus driver, the kid claimed he didn't know what I was talking about and I never saw it again.
