  1. This makes a lot of sense. On a case by case basis, many times judges look at the intent of the law. For example the intent of the law isn't to prevent a user who purchased PAC-MAN from playing ...... PAC-MAN. It's designed to keep copies of software of the internet, but they're already there. IMO the "format-shift" precedence and also the right to use a backup of copyrighted software by the purchaser would satisfy the intent of the law unless it specifically states "One cannot download ROMS". It doesn't really seem like a grey area at all unless you are putting the roms on a Harmony Cart and still playing the original at the same time or on a different system and getting double use out of them. Thanks for all the replies
  2. Hi, I had a couple of questions. First, are "Self Published" roms legal to download and play on an emulator on Harmony cartridge? If not, is there a list of the roms that are legal for download? Second question. Is it legal to downloaded roms for cartridges that I already own and use them on my Harmony cartridge? I know that most of these companies are no longer around or no longer care but I want to keep everything on the up & up. Thanks a lot!
  3. Hi, I was wondering if "Self Published" game roms were legal to download in the download section. Also, is there a list of all the roms that would be legal to download? I have already downloaded the roms for the cartridges that I own for my harmony card and want to keep everything on the up & up. Thanks!
