If true, that's unbelievable and sad. One bad auction and he off and destroys the rest of them? He should know enough about eBay by now to know that it's hit or miss a lot of times. Sometimes your auctions go for more than you were hoping for, sometimes less. That's just how it is. What a shame....

You're right! Thanks a million!!!

Haven't had any luck finding the map. If anyone knows how to access it, please post!
-
My take is that you are supposed to have a copy of WTR for legal purposes only. But that's just a guess....
-
Okay, let me know what you find out. I've been sticking to the roads pretty much, so maybe going off in the countryside is the key. I'll try experimenting some more tonight also. Thanks!

David, I've been playing the game for a few days now, and I feel like and idiot asking this -- but where's the darn map? I press "option 1" at various points and have never had the option to view a map, no matter if I'm talking to someone or not. Only a couple of things I can think of: A) the map must be purchased at one of the stores? B) there a different versions of the game floating around? BTW, I have the B&C version of the cart. I've been working on making a map on paper, but the game is so huge that it's easy to get lost -- which gets frustrating....

The CPU is very hard. In my experience, you really have to master the "one timer" shot....

anyone bought any of these white repro box inserts?
else replied to Zwackery's topic in Atari Jaguar
Maybe Carl started including trays at some point later? They originally came with only bubble wrap, which is what I have. -
All the time man, all the time.......

Why fix Cybermorph and Iron Soldier since they already have sequels that address all these issues?

And remember, Coleco was based on the east coast -- Connecticut and upstate New York to be exact. Of course, Coleco protos have almost never turned up -- but I keep the faith that someday a huge stash will be found

A good joke to be sure. Tempest got we with the whole "this isn't an April fools joke, trust me guys, come on -- would I lie to you?".
-
No kidding. But wouldn't a Connecticut based company use the American-style? Nevermind....clearly by the confused smiley you sent me I must be wrong....

January 4th, 1984. Not only an April fools joke, but a BOTCHED April fools joke.....

I bought a set. These will be sweet for all the games from Songbird, which didn't include the trays: Hyperforce Skyhammer Soccer Kid Protoctor Protector SE Phase Zero So six is exactly the right amount! -
Here's an interesting thread on another forum where someone from the development team made a posting. He talks about some of the problems with the game (towns being too big, etc): Daemonsgate Discussion Also a review of the PC version from back in the day: PC version review And here I was kind of fired up to give this game a decent go -- but after reading this review and a couple of others I've lost all my enthusiasm.... :(

Sorry for so many posts. I found there's even a walkthrough for the PC version of this game: Daemongate Walkthrough Don't know how much applies to the Lynx version. Anybody every tried it?
-
Oh, it looks like it was called "Daemonsgate" on the PC. I wonder why they changed the name slightly. Now I get tons of hits on Google....
-
Ah, I think you're right. I just found an old thread that mentions this as well. Thanks!

What other systems did this game come out on? From the review on Atari Times: I tried a few google search, but didn't come up with anything....

WOW! This is an amazing find, considering how few Colecovision proto's have ever turned up. I figured many of the games such as this that the Coleco put in their catalog had never even been started. Here's hoping there more where this one came from!!!

Sorry for not getting back to you Raven. I was kind of waiting to see if anyone else had more information about the game that I could add. So far, it doesn't look that way. Feel free to do whatever you want with the manual. I made it in the spirit of giving back to the community! Edit: Raven, I just uploaded a new one (see my first posting, above). It's got a few minor corrections and formatting issues fixed that I noticed. No major changes were made, so if you've already invested a lot of time with the previous one it's nothing to worry about....
-
And to paraphrase the rest of what Carl said -- in all likelihood, no game ever will....

There seems to be a crazy oversupply with a LOT of Lynx games. I've always wondered about that. Atari must have been expecting the Lynx to take off like a rocked and ordered a TON of most of the games..... The ratio for most games seems to be about 20 copies of every game for every 1 Lynx produced!
