  1. @TrogdarRobusto I'm more into modern gaming now (Xbox, PS) and on the digital side of things. I love the perfect pixels on our modern displays. As much as I think it's great to see more Atari physical products, to me it seems like they are all one-offs. "We'll get to that <feature, game, legacy console, etc> next time!" Like many, I don't have much physical space to "collect them all" as much I'd like to. For digital, I wonder why Atari doesn't create an all-in-one that could be updated over time should you acquire more gaming rights in the future. The thing is, you have this with Atari 50, a fantastic app with all generations of legacy Atari. Let's say XBOX finally gets ActiBlizzion done, Atari gets into talks and now Activision games can be made available for it. You could release an update for Atari 50 to plug in the holes in the timeline, maybe offer the Activision pack DLC for $9.99 or something feasible. Atari 50 now starts to become the all-in-one. Later down the line, Atari 8bit/PC side of things comes along, other IPs/licenses secured, update/DLC, etc, etc. Over time, you have a digital museum of all things Atari checking off the preservation box and one modern place to play. If Atari can't do this with Atari 50, maybe a new app then similar to Sega Genesis Classics or XBOX 360's Game Room. The hub being a retro game room that you can customize. New games being offered over time and can be added to your library. Imagine some of the homebrew games on AA being offered in this new application. I don't have to worry about modding, digging out old consoles, just launch the app on my XBOX/PS/PC, see the new games available, buy/download/play in glorious 4K. Having access to someone at Atari is great and this merger I feel will lead to new possibilities, but as with many things, being cautious is always good. The amount of ideas on this forum is second to none, hopefully they can be realized. Al has been a champion of this since the get-go.
  2. Too young, way too young. Deepest condolences to Curt's family. ?
  3. Since tech has changed so much since it's announcement, if something like the XM was announced today, would this be easier to build? With the rise of FPGA, Analogue and so much other retro gaming goodies (Arcade 1Up etc.), from a tech standpoint, has anything made it easier to build? Was curious about this, not to change the topic (move if need be).
  4. Wow, I've been eyeing the Mega SG since it's launch, consider this ordered, glad I waited. ?
  5. Bought the Steam version during the sale, love the pixel perfection on it. Hope to see it on Xbox store someday or maybe since GamePass is super popular, maybe get it on there? BTW, RushJet1 released the FM Edition of the soundtrack: https://rushjet1.com/album/rikki-vikki-fm-edition I play the soundtrack via Spotify on Xbox One X when I'm playing Forza Horizon 4, I can't get enough of this music. It's so good, especially the boss music, all 3 are amazing. - 1P Cavern Guardian - A Bolt of Misery - Eternal Misery
  6. Got mine, loving the box and contents. Pic here: https://twitter.com/romeoteknik/status/1101662289420275713 #1-127 #1-128 Where can we get 7800 box protectors from?
  7. Put in 2 orders separately since I didn't see a quantity selector. Stoked for this!
  8. Maybe a quantity limit will be in place? Amazing work, love the catchy music and still can't believe this is on the 7800! Thanks to John for the video and heads up. I'd like to see this on the Xbox One as well, maybe thru ID@XBOX? Link: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/developers/id
  9. Requested info submitted. Kindly do the needful.
  10. Will Atari Flashback Classics Volume 3 ever be available at Best Buy or Amazon? Why is Gamestop the only place currently to buy it? I don't see it listed as "Only at Gamestop" so it's not exclusive to them.
  11. Wow, excited to see this come out and 5200 games! Sadly, no 5200 Activision games. Damn I want Pitfall 2. 5200 had the best version of it with POKEY music and the extra bonus stage. Maybe one day.
  12. Great job John, I doubt they will put a sticker to identify these aren't arcade roms. They are already made and expect casuals and folks looking for stocking stuffers to purchase this. Such a shame. It's laughable that it can't even run the NES roms properly. Also, check out the fake positive reviews on Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bandai-Namco-Flashback-Blast-Pac-Man-PAC-MANIA-Retro-Gaming-Yellow-818858029629/370082388 3 of the positive reviews all have this: "I am writing this review as part of a contest" Seems shady to me.
  13. I'm pretty sure a revised NT Mini will come out. All they need to do is remove all the analog inputs and just make it an HDMI only system to keep in line with the Super Nt and Mega Sg. This should reduce the price significantly. Will FM sound work in the select Master System games? A kinda side question, but does anyone know where Analogue manufactures these systems? If in China, do they worry about IP theft and the usual issues in having your products made over there?
  14. Wow, that's great Sega news. I guess they realized you need to up the quality when the competitors are outputting awesomeness. Plus, I'm sure alot of the comments from fans, since the initial announcement, were to not use AtGames. https://twitter.com/SEGA_OFFICIAL/status/1042216730049753090 Google translate: "[Notice] We will change the release of "MegaDrive Mini (tentative name)" announced at SegaFe's 2018 to 2019. We had been developing for the launch this year, especially the response from overseas customers is great, again we will prepare a model that reproduces "GENESIS" in North America and European version "Mega Drive" in Europe, It is scheduled to be released at the same time in." "Moreover, in order to achieve the quality which can satisfy all of Sega fans more, we reviewed the design centering on the original members of MegaDrive and took a system to cooperate with domestic developers with proven software development. I'm sorry for all the fans. Please wait for a while with expectation"
  15. https://youtu.be/xZXF0aMEQPI?t=13m5s I'm glad Game Sack went thru the AtGames Genesis HD in this video and shows how bad the emulation is. Low fps, framerates issues, sound, etc. (https://youtu.be/xZXF0aMEQPI?t=15m30s) It seems the whole focus was the "HD" part and nothing else. If games can't run properly like they did on the actual Genesis, really shows low effort being put into these consoles. What exactly was changed in the emulation from previous editions? This has me question the Mega Drive Mini now, which I am interested in. Why doesn't Sega do it themselves?
  16. Atari VCS PR calls RGT85 "fake news". haha real professional In response to this video:
  17. This stuck out to me: "By Spring 2019 when Atari VCS ships, we plan to have new and exclusive games for you to download* or stream, including reimagined classic titles from Atari and other top developers that are ready-to-play, with even more to come! (*Subscription required for advanced services and cloud storage.)" Then in the specs box at the bottom: Subscription Needed? No. Includes cloud and other services. So which is it? What exactly is this "subscription"? What are these "advanced services"? Are they seriously going to offer an Xbox Live Gold/PS+ type service? If so, they need to explain it more thoroughly rather than hide details behind a small asterisk.
  18. Marc, will you re-start this project? I see it was cancelled prior. I'm interested.
  19. I just saw this on NintendoAge: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=180982 Site: https://www.watagames.com/ Is anyone from AtariAge part of this?
  20. Why don't they just release every single Atari game ever made? Wouldn't that alone be alot of exclusives? 2600, 5200, 7800, Jaguar, all the Atari computer games, all the Atari arcades, etc.? Why is this not possible? For once, I thought there would be one company that would be a real "all-in-one" console with its history. Nintendo would be the first to come to mind, its amazing history and with Virtual Console, it was starting to be that, but their method of the slow drip releases and, to this day, still not setting up a competent online account system, where your digital purchases would transfer over, kinda tells me they will always be slow and late to the party and perhaps the old guard at Nintendo Japan doesn't allow for it. The mini systems were a great idea, but they could've done more. Who ends up doing this?....Microsoft. Xbox One has free backwards compatibility (360 and OG Xbox) with its history of titles, not as big of history as Nintendo, but an "all-in-one", nonetheless. This is what happens when you invest a team dedicated to such projects and I wish Game Room returned in a new way. For Atari, they could set up something similar, with an online store. Get third parties on board to release theirs. But from the looks of it, they aren't looking to invest much.
