Which came first - Basic Math or Fun With Numbers?
orrimarrko replied to orrimarrko's topic in Atari 2600
I don't know if it exists or not - I was just assuming that would be the progression. So if it doesn't exist, then there would just be the "four" in the progression then? Thanks, Steve What about Hunt and Score?? -
Go on... I couldn't see any difference. Do you know what the variations are? (I hope the sarcasm was caught here...) Interesting though. Does anyone know the story on that strange packaging (no box, but cardboard backing)?

Thanks! LOL - I'm glad I got that part right, at least. How about the rest of the post? -

Shrink-wrapped Stadium Events over $2000.....
orrimarrko replied to Smitty's topic in Auction Central
Say WORD, son! Amen brother - my sentiments exactly. I've always thought this way. -
I know there are certain games that were renamed and reissued. My question is, what are those games, and which came first? Basically, what is the timeframe for the two titles? For example: Hunt and Score and A Game of Concentration are the same game, I believe. Just like Basic Math and Fun With Numbers. Which came first? Would it look something like this: 1. Basic Math - text label (gatefold box, "61" version) 2. Basic Math - text label (regular box) 3. Fun With Numbers - text label (regular box) 4. Fun With Numbers - picture label (Atari Corp reissue - regular box) 5. Fun With Numbers - picture label (Atari Corp reissue - grey box) Is this correct? What other games did this occur with? Thanks, Steve

Just wondering if anyone knows why there are multiple entries for NTSC games in the AA database. For example, when you look up Fire Fighter, there are two NTSC entries, and one for the "White" label. I'm just wondering what the difference between the two NTSC entries are (if any.) Thanks, Steve

Well, I now have two 5200 boxed games - minty as can be. That leaves a long, long list. I have Kaboom and Pitfall!. Anything else is NEEDED - so if you have a minty fresh new or opened/complete 5200 game for sale, please let me know. Thanks, Orri-

http://www.worldofatari.com/5200/atari_5200_accessories.htm Couple of "issues" with that site... Have you bought from them before?

Keep them sealed or open - that is the question...

Say word, SON! Exactly. -
Looking for a new or minty fresh dust cover for the 5200. Just let me know! Thanks, Steve

Hey Al, Did you give any thought about the insert printing? Personally, I'd pay a couple of bucks to buy a professionally printed insert on glossy paper.

orrimarrko replied to orrimarrko's topic in Atari 2600
As far as I'm concerned, sealed games (regardless of the system) are for investment only. Meaning, if you collect "sealed only" games, you're doing it for the money (or anticipation of the money.) That guy who bought the sealed Stadium Events didn't do it for the love of that game - it was an investment. If you buy sealed Atari 2600 games and open them, that make a lot of sense to me. Personally, I've done this a lot lately. It accomplishes two things, in my opinion. First, it saves me time from finding a complete one. Second, it at least allows me to get a new cartridge and manual. Hopefully, the box is in great shape as well. Since condition is very important to me, and I'm very picky about condition - buying sealed games and opening them is an easy way for me to get what I want. I have no problem opening sealed games whatsoever. What made me start this thread was to see what the general consensus was on the subject, especially when it comes to box damage from leaving it sealed. Everyone has their own reasons for collecting, and I don't judge anyone for doing what they like, in that regard. Just because it doesn't make sense to me, doesn't make it wrong. However, I want to keep my new games in as pristine condition as possible, which is why I asked if I should leave them sealed, or simply cut open the shrinkwrap. Thanks again everyone for your input. Wrong! Wonder was sniped with a few seconds to go. (Unless your post was sarcastic, in which case, I apologize.)

In all seriousness - does anyone else feel that this was a LOT more money than it should have gone for? Honestly, that would put Tooth Protectors in the top 5 (price-wise.) However, I guess it makes sense - if Springer is going for over $300, it looks like everything CIB or better is going for more cake than normal... Uggh! (as he feels his future earnings slip away...)

Just a noob question here, but since I'd like to know for some future day (down the road)... Does this mean that the overwhelming majority of Bomb boxes are found with a little "P" sticker on them? Meaning, of course, that's the only difference between a PAL box and an NTSC box? Aren't all of the Bomb boxes just the same with two windows to see the manual inside? And with the Mangia' box, is the only difference between the PAL and NTSC boxes a sticker as well? By the way, does anyone have pics of these boxes (with/without stickers?) Thanks, Steve

Is there a comparison picture of a "heavy sixer" and a "non" heavy sixer somewhere? I just got a six switch last week, but have no idea whether it's a "heavy" sixer or not. Thanks, Steve
