Real SNES vs Wii Virtual Console
PeculiarSatyr replied to Jifremok's topic in Classic Console Discussion
There is definetely something to be said about playing the original game on the original hardware with the original controller. For me a lot of what I love about video games is the nostalgia I get from them. The nostalgia is greatly reduced playing roms on a computer, at least for me. I suspose if I had never beat games on the NES, SNES, genesis, TG16...I probably would be completely fine with playing VC games. The only other reason I collect for systems like NES, SNES, genesis, etc is because they seem more reliable with regular use than newer gen systems like the Wii. -
most comfortable/ best controller

I'll give the N64 controller some love. -
Real SNES vs Wii Virtual Console
PeculiarSatyr replied to Jifremok's topic in Classic Console Discussion
One thing to consider. What will last longer with normal use. I'd bet money my two SNES systems will still be running fine long after most Wii systems are dead. -
What do you collect besides video games?

Average Price of Final Fantasy 1 NES Cart
PeculiarSatyr posted a topic in Classic Console Discussion
According to ebay the average price of a "Final Fantasy 1 Nintendo Nes Original Rare Classic!!!!" is $1,003.00. I'm curious how ebay came to this price... -
I think some SNES games thrown in would be pretty awesome. Gonna try to participate some but will probably have to pick up most of the games because my collection is being very slowly rebuilt.

I agree, the controller for TG-16 is really nice. I wish there was some mod or adapter to use it on my NES.

I will eventually get Bonk's Adventure, It came with 4 games: Bloody Wolf, Keith Courage in Alpha Zones, TV Sports Football, and Power Golf... and a multitap with 3 controllers. I eventually want Legendary Axe. You might want to keep your eyes open for a controller extension. The TG-16 controller cords are ridiculously short.

Wikileaks seems to be trying to distance themself from their anon backers. Today I guess they're trying to take amazon.com down and failing miserably thus far.

I bought a modded 2600 and a repro cart from horseboy. A+++ He went through great lengths to make sure that everything worked out well. Probably will buy more from in the future.

I really need to get one of these. Maybe after christmas I'll be less poor -
Search for "game boy light" then sort by price. The one your looking for will be like 60 USD and up. There are quite a few on ebay right now.

So I'm lookin for a Turbo booster or booster +, controller extension cord and controllers. If anyone has extra or spares that could be sold, let me know! Also the only game I have right now is ninja spirit so if anyone has games they'd let go of for a good price...let me know!

Collection of old 2600 items, some rare
PeculiarSatyr replied to Torr's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I just bought an atari 2600 from a member on here and should probably get it sometime next week. As I've got no games how much would it cost to get yours shipped to ohio? Thanks, James -
My linkhttp://cgi.ebay.com/NES-Turbo-Grafx-16-Video-Game-System-Two-Games-L-K-/380285000000?pt=Video_Games&hash=item588ac09940 Just came across this. Looks like it comes with a Turbo Booster Plus.

Yeah, my plan is to use my TG-16 for US hucard games and to eventually get a PC Engine Duo-R or RX to play everything else.
-
I just measured the cord for my turbopad. 45 inches. I'm not sure if the cord got damaged and someone cut it down or if the stock cords are just ridiculously short. Just for comparison my stock NES controller cord is 90 inches.

I just picked a tg16 up from ebay a few days ago. Just some advice if you're gonna get one...try to find one with a turbo tap and controller extension cord as the turbopad cord is ridiculously short. Also Turbo Booster is a plus. Also a bit of advice...I've heard that the TurboDuo is prone to sound problems. From the research I've done the PC Engine R or RX is the way to go in a combo system. You can't play US hucard games on one without some modification. My plan is to play US hucard games on the Turbografx and eventually get a PC Engine Duo to play US and japanese CD games.

So I picked up a TurboGrafx off ebay because I used to play one with my brother when I was about 10. I did a bit a research before I bought it and I'm lookin out for a Turbo Booster or TurboBooster +....but the one thing I forgot!!! Is the controller cord is like 2 feet long!!! Who seriously makes a controller with a cord that long? Sure two feet is a bit of an exageration but its really really short. Guess I have to find a turbo tap and a cord extension. Maybe this was just NECs way of getting people to dump more money on accessories that make the system actually playable.

You can actually tell 100% if a genesis is TMSS free just by looking at the FCC ID on the bottom. The TMSS free consoles were (all? or mostly) the ones that came with Altered Beast. If a genesis has the FCC number FJ846EUSASEGA then it does not have TMSS.

Nevermind, it looks like you only get bike noises with music set to off.
