  1. If you enjoy games for a certain console you should own said console if you can at all. Buying a digital copy of a game you can emulate on your PC seems odd to me, and the digital copy you got for your Wii will die with your Wii. My hard copy of Mario RPG is playable on any SNES, so if the one I have now dies I can always get another one.

If you are going to buy hardware for a game it should be the hardware the game was made for. Use your Wii for Wii games and your SNES for SNES games.

Just my two cents of coarse. The local classic gaming scene does say I'm a purist so take that into account here as well.

There is definetely something to be said about playing the original game on the original hardware with the original controller. For me a lot of what I love about video games is the nostalgia I get from them. The nostalgia is greatly reduced playing roms on a computer, at least for me. I suspose if I had never beat games on the NES, SNES, genesis, TG16...I probably would be completely fine with playing VC games.

The only other reason I collect for systems like NES, SNES, genesis, etc is because they seem more reliable with regular use than newer gen systems like the Wii.

  2. How does your bid compare?

This chart shows how your bid compares to the average price that similar items have sold for on eBay in the last 15 days.

    Your max bid Average price

    US $20.00 US $1,003.00

This information is intended only as a guide. You should always read the item description and pricing information carefully before bidding on an item.

According to ebay the average price of a "Final Fantasy 1 Nintendo Nes Original Rare Classic!!!!" is $1,003.00. I'm curious how ebay came to this price...

  3. I don't have, nor have I even seen, a multi-tap for the TG16. I knew they were out there, but I never looked for them. Something about the one controller port is actually kind of appealing to me. Not many people I know want to play a system they have never heard of before with someone, everyone wants to play for a while solo so the single port doesn't bother me. Also, it stands out. You don't normally see one controller port on a system.

The controller for this system is really cool to me too. It feels different to me then anything else and I don't really know why. I do know the buttons are softer or something. Just cool.

I agree, the controller for TG-16 is really nice. I wish there was some mod or adapter to use it on my NES.

  4. If you haven't already done so do yourself a huge favor and buy Bonk's Adventure. I played the hell out of that game on my buddies TurboGrafx-16 as a kid, recently bought it on virtual console for the Wii, its aged very well and is still a blast!

I will eventually get Bonk's Adventure, It came with 4 games: Bloody Wolf, Keith Courage in Alpha Zones, TV Sports Football, and Power Golf... and a multitap with 3 controllers.

    I eventually want Legendary Axe.

You might want to keep your eyes open for a controller extension. The TG-16 controller cords are ridiculously short.

  5. Isn't it actually backlit, like the old indigo style watches with the bluish greenish backlight? I always thought that was how they did it..

Anyhow, I always wanted one, but have never been able to find oe, even looking up Gameboy Light will on Ebay will only net you the various maglight and worm light options. I would have sure gotten one if it had ever poped up though. :(

Search for "game boy light" then sort by price. The one your looking for will be like 60 USD and up. There are quite a few on ebay right now.

  6. So I'm lookin for a Turbo booster or booster +, controller extension cord and controllers. If anyone has extra or spares that could be sold, let me know!

Also the only game I have right now is ninja spirit so if anyone has games they'd let go of for a good price...let me know!

  7. BUMP

Well I've been able to get rid of Master Builder, I realize how common/not mint the rest are so I'm willing to darn near give these away to whoever wants them if they are of ANY value... I realize the shipping on most of these is probably more than they are worth so as I said above, I'll trade for ANYTHING Sega related, instruction manuals, old cases, fliers/inserts, etc... Heck, I could be willing to give them away if I know they are going to a good home!

I just bought an atari 2600 from a member on here and should probably get it sometime next week. As I've got no games how much would it cost to get yours shipped to ohio?

    Thanks,

    James

  8. The PC Engine library is far better than that of the TG-16. If you're planning on getting into the TG-16/PC Engine, I'd suggest getting a PC Engine Duo-R since it's reliable and it allows you to play both HuCards and CD games.

Yeah, my plan is to use my TG-16 for US hucard games and to eventually get a PC Engine Duo-R or RX to play everything else.

  9. I am looking for a tg16 system if any one has one I would also like a duo a CD add on or any japanese pc engine systems If you have any NEC systems I want them just PM me and we will work out a deal thanks

I just picked a tg16 up from ebay a few days ago. Just some advice if you're gonna get one...try to find one with a turbo tap and controller extension cord as the turbopad cord is ridiculously short. Also Turbo Booster is a plus.

Also a bit of advice...I've heard that the TurboDuo is prone to sound problems. From the research I've done the PC Engine R or RX is the way to go in a combo system. You can't play US hucard games on one without some modification. My plan is to play US hucard games on the Turbografx and eventually get a PC Engine Duo to play US and japanese CD games.

  10. So I picked up a TurboGrafx off ebay because I used to play one with my brother when I was about 10. I did a bit a research before I bought it and I'm lookin out for a Turbo Booster or TurboBooster +....but the one thing I forgot!!!

Is the controller cord is like 2 feet long!!! Who seriously makes a controller with a cord that long? Sure two feet is a bit of an exageration but its really really short. Guess I have to find a turbo tap and a cord extension. Maybe this was just NECs way of getting people to dump more money on accessories that make the system actually playable.

  11. Next, there is another "model I" system that still has the "High Definition Graphics" logo on top, but does have TMSS in the system BIOS. The way you will know it has TMSS is to start the system with a game inserted. If it immediately goes to the game's start screen then it does not have TMSS. If the system first takes you to a screen where you see "Produced By or Under License From Sega Enterprises LTD.", then it has TMSS. This is less desirable among collectors.

You can actually tell 100% if a genesis is TMSS free just by looking at the FCC ID on the bottom. The TMSS free consoles were (all? or mostly) the ones that came with Altered Beast. If a genesis has the FCC number FJ846EUSASEGA then it does not have TMSS.

  12. So I sat down with a friend to play some Road Rash 2 on my x'eye and when playing split screen with music on we aren't getting any bike noise. Anyone able to check if this is an issue with the game? I don't have a genesis to test with at the moment so if anyone can check I'd appreciate it.

Nevermind, it looks like you only get bike noises with music set to off.
