Now you fixed 2 player Doom would your code also support more players like aircars :-) Will test it tomorow to see if the error doesn't occur on my consoles (I got PAL systems) I gues you only tested on NTSC models. Can you tell me which type jag's you had for test K or M models or both (mixed) Last thing, DOOM+ would be nice, this time a way to load new levels from CD... But for now I gonna play DOOM again, It always bugged me the game crashed...

yep interested and did send mail already

best practice on serial lines (3 wires) tx/rx/gnd without handshake cts/rts best keep it max. 19.200, the jaguar doesnt have a fifo buffer.
-
adding package numbers inside the data to be sure you still get the correct package and increment it when new package is send this way wrong packages could be detected aswell
-
AWESOME tool hope you can add the 320C and 320D modes aswell soon... I was playing around with the 7800Basic but stopped because I found the graphics converting to hard. This seems nice, also cool it's commandline so it can be scripted.

Nope I was mistaken thats why I did edit it. The source is for cd encryption it does download the hash info to pc. I got all games titles original :-) Sent from UMI hammer with Tapatalk

Here is the download link of the software http://www.mdgames.de/cden16_source.zip

I know in the cd encryption utility there they did use xmodem for transfer, it works at 19.200 when using it, at 19200 you will see in you terminal package on pc error's but these error's will be resolved in xmodem with re-send the package. Maybe this xmodem protocol or something like that can be implemented in DOOM seems to be reliable with the result, I always got good downloads so the error checking and resending works ok. When you need the sourcecode of the cd encryption utitlity let me know I can send it to you.

Yah right there is no working mpeg card if so then point me in that direction. The stuff we have on the mpeg card was released by Glenn Bruner he also confirms its not completed and working. I never read/heard of any other mpeg card development for the Jaguar. Sent from UMI hammer with Tapatalk

Hi The jaguar has fmv but no cards use it because of the amount if space it uses. So some games are available on cartridge and cd the difference is that the cd version has the fmv. For example Iron Soldier 2 For movie playback there is cinepak codec support. Atari licensed cinepak and its inside the jaguar development kit. But games not always use cinepak the Atari gamefilm engine was based on cinepak. Iron Soldier 2 doesn't use cinepak I think. I read people did use FLI/FLV on the jaguar but never did see any released code of this. Also other custom formats have been used. Brainstorm the makers of the development kit software for he Atari Jaguar did make a software mpeg-1 player at that time without b-frame support they wanted to sell it to Atari but they had just bought cinepak so project died. Atari did make an internal project for mpeg-1 cart that would allow people to play mpeg-1 movies but this project wasn't finised only does exist as pcb layout and little info. No working version exists project was 20% done I think. Sent from UMI hammer with Tapatalk
