Looking for help to diagnose a problem with 130XE
TXG/MNX replied to crtfreak's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I should start with ram and os best is desolder all and solder sockets in that case you can easy swap defective chips. I got a syscheck and that allowes me to test if all rsm is bad and rom the best diagnostic tool. For 99% of the systems I repaired had defective ram. Just 1 had a defective rom. Hmm when its turned on longer it works sounds like solder issues. Black screen mostly is rom or ram defective should just take a few minutes to resolder those joints -

C or Assembler for game development
TXG/MNX replied to zzip's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
Cc65 is nice but I think mads pascal mixes pascal & asm well and I have seen very good results in speed I think cc65 cannot beat Sent from UMI hammer with Tapatalk -

Maybe you can release an cd image for download for people that want it. That way you save the trouble to burn/master them. Add a cd label and cd cover. In the download. Sent from UMI hammer with Tapatalk

Soccer Kid + Frog Feast combo cartridge by Songbird
TXG/MNX replied to Songbird's topic in Atari Jaguar
I am in where can we pre-order ? -
Hi, add the Jaguar option also to kickstarter I like to donate for this game. Secondly I like to order both the CD and Boxed cartridge version when done. Are you considering to add a nice FMV before the game starts from CD ?
-
You also got an issue with the option and other button they are on the xegs case just buy a broken 65xe,130xe or 800xe these all have the same kbd.
-
It would be nice to have something like antonia 65816 with 16mb ram and option to select original 6502c and 65816, just by a switch. Include an ide aswell when you can make room route a blackbox/mio on the board that would make it ultra awesome Sent from UMI hammer with Tapatalk

An 800xe is like a 65xe but there is a batch made that had a bad gtia. It looks the same as the 65xe or 130Xe

Would it nice to make the board in m-itx size ? Then we can put the board in a m-itx case.

Native was never completed, to bad it was a nice game. They ran out of memory, only when they could build a CD version at the time they could maybe build more levels. You can find all info on the website of Duranik. I know they got skunkboards maybe the can finish it or make another great game. Duranik has good quality games. Mdgames did work Duranik I believe with some releases. Sent from UMI hammer with Tapatalk

Your memory footprint of the GPU is 4KB so the full ram of the GPU is used, the only solution to use bigger GPU code is to swap GPU code in/out.
-
Can you tell us how the GPU code works? Options: 1) Load gpu code and then that gpu program did wait for a command to be set, then the gpu wakes up, stops the 68K, and when it finished it will waiting for command and the 68K is running again. 2) Load gpu code and the gpu is in control, shutdown 68K and starts the 68K when the GPU is finished and GPU stops 3) load gpu code, 68K in control start and stops gpu 4) load gpu code, gpu program runs local and 68K parallel at the same time.

Atari libraries and demos for music/audio

I got also a midi-board for the alpine, never used it, did you get it working ? -
I wonder which version of Speedster this is. There are several versions, like 'normal' and a K-MART and WALL-MARK. Atleast I read about this. the only difference is that when you see a pictures of the parking and store there is a picture of a mall, which show a text. The same with Skycopter.

You should also rrad about the known bugs in the gpu and some instructions don't give the result back so you must add a nop before reading the result or write your code interleaved. And there are some rules when using external ram to make it work. Because there are situations is does not work. Write your experiences here and questions ofcourse this thread is very interesting to read.

Drivers install unsigned. To find the option you need to go to recovery options.
