Actually, the AEMS installation guide explicitly says that it does. . . Asgard AEMS Installation Manual.pdf

Both pass AMSTEST V4. The differences are the addition of an activity LED circuit and tabs to lock it into the PEB slot better. It also has some of the circuitry needed to expand the board to 4M, but only on the output side of the 74LS612, so that part of the change has no function yet.

The demo does, in fact, play on a 99/4A. I made a couple of test cartridges with the BIN file and demonstrated them at the Chicago Faire a few years ago, IIRC.

TI-99/4A - Resources & Lists, PDFs, and some Lists
Ksarul replied to Schmitzi's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I have an extensive list of TI books, @Schmitzi I attached it here. It is missing some titles, as I had done an update a while back that was lost right after I made the update in a disk crash--and unfortunately, also before my next backup. TI 99 Book Listing.doc -
Oddly enough, I think I do have one. I know I have one of the SW99ers boards, several of the boards that I made as a test run with Dan Eicher a long time ago (using the SW99ers GERBERS), and several of the newer variants that I build now.

Are you looking to power a PEB with this or just a console? I used to use a 150W for my console while I was in Germany, but that was overkill. If you can find one around 75W, that should give more than enough headroom for the TI console power supply.

Did you check to see if these were in the TI Gamebase? @OX.did a great job of finding a lot of the more obscure titles to include in it.

The Universal Beige looks closest, but it is actually between that and the Bone White.

Any "new user says hello!" thread?

Herzlich Willkommen! -
Hangman is a little harder to find than the other two of the easy-to-find Gamevision carts (easy is relative here). The ones that are nearly impossible are Yahtzee and the Gamevision Demonstration carts. The easy three are probably in the $30 to $50 range, depending on condition and whether or not they include complete boxes, etc. The two nearly impossible ones are pretty much whatever the market will bear. . .but are definitely in the $200 plus range.

That was some serious vehicle abuse. . .

Yes, the SIZE command will show a lot more memory than usual.

That's the one I've been using @arcadeshopper. . .

I have loaded the cart pretty regularly on my TI system with AMS memory. I've had good luck with some copies finding the AMS memory and configuring the system to use about 64K of it. I demonstrated this at the Chicago faire a few years ago. . . What is curious though, is that all copies I've made have the same code base, but only some of them actually recognize AMS memory consistently.

Cassette deck cable DIY - question on the remote jack

It is interesting to see how you made this trick work! -
Hey, I recognize that console. It was fabricated by a German user a long time ago. Note that the box with six connectors is one of several that he built, each with different cartridges inside. I ended up with several of them, along with a number of the mutant single cartridges, a couple of interesting multicartridges, and one of his modified consoles.

That being the case, the wiring in the depths of the transformer was definitely damaged by whatever caused the initial problem. The only option at this point is to replace the transformer (or the PEB). I hope none of the PEB cards you have were in the box when you made the test--or when the original problem happened. If you DID have them in the PEB, you might want to try this test again--with no cards inserted (and a new fuse). If one of the cards you received with the PEB was damaged (before you got it), it might have blown the fuse this time too.
-
I would just put something over the hole to cover it and protect it electrically, especially if your work didn't expose any other wires within the transformer.

PEB and Sideport Connector KiCAD or Eagle component

All of mine are in ExpressPCB or Robot Room format, unfortunately. -
I have a couple of hundred of the appropriate fuses on order. They should arrive soon, as they are already through Customs.

Excellent! I'm glad you were able to reach it successfully. If you can get a picture of it and post it, that would be very useful. If you can't, I'll try and get a good picture from the next PEB transformer I have to do surgery on. . .as this is one of those questions that always resurfaces, and many of the responses can be a bit confusing.

I got the transistors off of eBay. They were NOS Motorola 2N2222As in a TO-18 case with gold leads, but there are a lot of sellers with these out there--some with and some without the gold leads. Here's a search link. I got mine for a good price when I was initially collecting parts for the HRD build-out. They came from two different US sellers, and I bought their entire (limited) stock, as I wanted to use some TO-18s in my boards (although I have also built a few boards with the more common, plastic cases, to verify functionality). I didn't put a specific BOM-by-source into the manual on purpose, as available parts sources change somewhat quickly--or make no sense based on the geographic location of the builder. It is also why I supply the D9K diodes and the 74HCT254s with the boards. They are both somewhat difficult to source in the right quantities for a single board build. I'm definitely OK with someone posting a list of their sources for each part though, as that may be helpful (and if several builders find different sources for the same compatible parts, the consolidated parts list would be even more helpful). On compatible chips, I've even been acquiring some of the old Soviet chips equivalent to the more common versions we usually use to test those as well. I now have about half of the chips I need to build a whole board with mostly Soviet parts for the board logic. . .if I ever get the rest of the parts I need, I will definitely take a picture of that one. .

DX10 Home Computer Software Development System
Ksarul replied to jbdigriz's topic in TI-99/4A Development
We have a posted set of the console GROMs that @FALCOR4had in his documents collection, but I think we are still missing a few pages ofit at random points (also missing from his set). Someone else had some of the missing bits, but again, I think we may still be missing a few pages to complete the set. On the console ROMs, I don't think we've got a good original source code set of those yet. Heiner Martin did his own commented disassembly of the whole console in his book, TI Intern, but the comments were his own, and nowhere near as complete (or accurate) as what is in the TI originals. @urbite and I reconstructed an editable copy of the original source for Parsec a while back, and I did a similar exercise for the source code included with the BASIC Support Module documentation. -
TI-99 Photos Thread! Post your systems here!
Ksarul replied to slinkeey's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I don't think I've ever seen one quite like that, but I do have a pair of them that look somewhat like one of the old 10-disk plastic floppy boxes (although I think even 8-inch disks would have some wiggle room in them, as it is two rows of cassettes side-by-side in each half of the case).
