  1. EDIT 1: Hi guys, I'm sorry but the Atari ST equipment is not available. I have to apologize. I went to my parent's home yesterday. After looking thru all my atari STUFF, I couldn't find the Atari ST... I looked for hours.. At some point, I was under the impression that my mom (known for this) had thrown it out... However, she told me that she had not... After many hours looking, My father told me that he had delivered some boxes a few years ago, but I was sure it wasn't the case. Anyways, this morning, searching my emails from eBay, I notice that I have sold all my Atari ST (and one C128) at the end of 2013. It is not clear how I forgotten about this and I apologize for this. I'm sorry about this. I'm going to ask Al to lock this thread and I'm going to create a new one. Orignal Thread: I'm keeping only my 8-bit equipment and maybe a couple of computers (I'm not sure yet if I will sell Amiga 500 and C128 with Disk Drive that I have). I will be adding more information soon, but here is the basic information. I want to see if there is any interest before going to eBay: I have a few Atari 520, 1040 ste, disk drives, atari mega, with monitor and "hard drive (removable media"), some other software, lots of used floppies, and some original software that I purchased. My zip is 33183. So you can calculate the shipping. If anyone is interested, please PM. I will be updating this thread with pictures and information in the upcoming weeks. Once I have the equipment information with more details, you can post your offer via PM. I also have some Itanium 2 Servers and old Solaris. HP Workstation ZX6000 Itanium 2x 1.3GHz 8GB 2X 73G 15k -- This one for sure was working last time I worked with it. I have debian installed. and HP INTEGRITY RX1620 1U SERVER Dual 1.3GHz 4GB ver 2.18 -- This one did turned on but I needed a special cable to connect to console, since it doesn't have a video card, as far as I remember. Sun Blade 100 Ultra SPARC IIe computer workstation In addition, I have an Alpha Server -- it was working. I tried to add more HD but I wasn't able to do so. Of course, the OpenVMS license expired because it is the hobby license but you can still get it (it must be renew every year). For the OpenVMS I may have media. (for the alpha -- I don't have media for OpenVMS running on Itanium). Let me know.
  2. Hello, Due to space, I have decided to streamline my collection of retro-computing, in particulars the ones that I don't use. To be honest, Atari 8-bit is my only interest. I have a few Atari 520, 1040 ste, disk drives, atari mega, with monitor and "hard drive (removable media"), some other software, lots of used floppies, and some original software that I purchased. In the coming weeks, I will be placing pictures. I hope to place videos too. To be honest, I don't feel like turning them on but I I think it is needed for you guys to know if it is working on not. My idea was to offer it here to see if there any interest before going to EBAY. My zip is 33183. So you can calculate the shipping. If anyone is interested, please PM. I will be updating this thread with pictures and information in the upcoming weeks. Thanks, EDIT: I have to apologize. I went to my parent's home yesterday. 3. Carlsson, I started the thread, so I can tell you why I did. In general, was out of curiosity because I never used a C64. In specific (and for a personal reason), I have a C128 with disk drive I purchased (in fairly in good condition) a couple of years ago but I haven't used. I'm actually trying to organize all my "retro" computing items to streamline all my collection only to Atari 8-bit and maybe keep a couple non Atari (I'm getting rid of the ST machines for example). The only computer I used before using a PC was the Atari 8-bit, so that's the one that I'm comfortable to have if I need to choose. So, while It is not a C64, I was thinking to keep the C128 if it was worth it (but of course, may be I won't, since i can just run an emulator). Those were the reason for the threads. I was also watching some videos on youtube, of this guy that compares video-games (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBM13bF3uFgCMVGAuAbIc4Q), in particular Atari 8-bit vs C64. I notice that there were times than that Atari 8-bit version was much better but the C-64 was not and other cases that was reverse. So then I started thinking, based on my total lack of knowledge on C64, maybe there were games (worth mentioning) that were in C64 but not in Atari. Anyways, I hope that clears your questions. The post by everyone has been very helpful to me.
  4. So there was a C++ then based on the link I found, right? anyone has info about C++ on the atari 8 bit?
  5. I don't know much about Commodore 64. I wonder was there any game (worth mentioning) that was available for C64 but not for Atari 8-bit?
  6. Thank you. There are few C compilers. I think CC65 is the most popular, right? I was surprised to know that there was a C++ compiler there as well. It is probably a very old version but nevertheless. it may not even have templates, I wonder and for sure not C++11, 14, 17 ready but it is very intriguing.
  7. I meant, this seems similar to MIST, http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=96
  8. I was reading the tools for windows to develop for Atari 8-bit. In particular, I sow Eclipse for Macro-Assembler. What tools do I need to develop using C? For what the answers that were given (including this link: http://hdm.atari.pl/development.html),it is clear that I need at least CC65 MADS Atari Emulator and figure out how to compile CC65 and MADS together (I sow a few links about this) I think I can compile on a windows computer and then try it out in the emulator. Maybe the Eclipse plugin WUSDN may be helpful (but not sure if it will work with CC65 and MADS) and not clear how would I debug either. Can you provide some more insight into the process, to be a bit more clear? In a separate note, I think there was never a C++ compiler for Atari 8-bit, right? thanks EDIT: I also found this: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/255940-mads-in-visual-studio-code/
  9. Was this 800XL was a New Old Stock? Also, what is a Chelco ? Is this one of the revision of the board? was this the best out there for 800xl?
  10. How do you upgrade an atari 130xe to 65816 CPU? any info on that?
  11. I'm been reading the code. This is very interesting. I hope to have a time to play with it.
  12. Very interesting. I read the power point and look at the code a bit. It seems ( I didn't know) that I could compiled directly without the need of a emulator or real atari 8-bit hardware. , right? I do have to look how are sprites included. interesting.
  13. Hello, I'm wondering what known games have been written in C for Atari 8-bit and if not known, at least home-brew. Any source code? Any resources to see how it works in C? (not the language but getting a basic game going -- sprites... )
  14. Is this the same called MIST?
  15. undeadmechanic, Thanks. I was asking about the the actual paddle (not the button). as you move in from one side to the other, doesn't that give you a range. Say for example, 0 to 255 (or less than that) I asked this because one may map values to the other buttons there. Anyways, interesting to have more than one button for the Atari. I don't remember any games that used more than one button.
  16. Does the Paddle gives you also a range value (0 to 255)?
  17. For the use of an Atari 8-bit, which one is better to use and why? what are the difference specs?
  18. Hello, Looking at some monitors online. To see if I may purchase one. I see Commodore 1702, 1802 , Magnovox 40 rgb , ... I wonder what is the difference between 1702 or 1802. What other options for monitors like those do I have? Thanks
  19. Without going on a tangent, I wonder how different was the gameplay with the coleco controllers. I never tried them. All of this as I have been thinking to get me coleco console now.
  20. Yeah, I'm sure I had the 2600... but I was so young that because it said "Coleco", for some reason, It seemed to me that was for both systems.... Coleco looks a lot better for the same game obviously.
