  1. Now, I’m very intrigue to try a c64. I never played with one except here and there. All I know about 8-bit (not that is much) is Atari. I have read about other 8-bit systems but never caught my interest.
  2. Cool!! I hope someone knows more about this.
  3. Let’s hope that maybe in 2022 things will be better to have a 8 player game which 8 player game is great for the family ?
  4. @Mr Robot Would this cause a delay or this delay would not be noticeable? Would the input be placed in a queue and as it went around, it pop only one sample?
  5. How does the Atari can set apart the 8 controllers?
  6. Great. I find using git-bash provides many of the functionalities (maybe not all of them) than Cygwin. I have used Cygwin. That's great to know. I have a linux server at the university that I use and my mac (which is in my office right now). But it is great to have this for Windows as well, as I used it a lot. Thanks
  7. For me, it showed 75. Who knows how much did it show for the buyer.
  8. i’m case this question was lost in the previous answer: I'm using the zero-installation files (it is a lot easier to get them working than setting up, at least for right now... but I will set it up later). It is working. However, if I create a new file, say hw.asm and then says open with MADS, I will get it to work and show the right syntax colors. When I open Eclipse, it goes away, only for my file and I have to do open with MADS again.
  9. I think it has to be ATARI text. It seems to be ">" character as EOL (at least it seems when I pasted) into Eclipse. I could write a program to replace that, remove the line numbers and clean the file. Before I do, if there is anything done, I would rather use that.
  10. Hi, I'm trying to convert the following listing from Atari Roots https://www.atariarchives.org/roots/chapter_7.php, The first two in the chapter (maybe the only two) to use in in Eclipse editor compiling with MADS. I know I will have to make some changes. My problem is adding the new line (CR) to the file. I could do it by hand, which I think I will do for now, or I could write a small program to do it. However, there has to be something easier. I searched the forum but I couldn't find how to do this. I don't think the files were saved in Linux because Sublime will open them fine. However, sublime and other editors just see it as a one line. I'm using Windows right now. Maybe they were saved as atari text files? Thanks,
  11. I'm still amazed that we have this and thank you @JAC! I'm going to ask a question but I have to confess, I didn't read all the pages in this thread or watch all the tutorials. I will watch the tutorials soon. Here are two questions. 1. I'm using the zero-installation files (it is a lot easier to get them working than setting up, at least for right now... but I will set it up later). It is working. However, if I create a new file, say hw.asm and then says open with MADS, I will get it to work and show the right syntax colors. When I open Eclipse, it goes away, only for my file and I have to do open with MADS again. 2. Has anyone made this work (and I'm assuming that it is possible) for the 16-bit compilers for the 65c802, for example using @drac030 's ASM compiler (ELSA) ? ELSA: Thanks
  12. That's good to hear. And yes, 1088XEL do uses original Atari Chips. I'm not sure about 576+ (but maybe it does too, I think). Of course, then we have FPGA, which I'm planning to get sometime next year. And the emulators.
  13. I don’t know much about electronics but how long can the atari 8-bit equipment last ? This is why I think is great what @mytekis doing. I can’t wait to receive my ready to go 1088xel
  14. I agree — maybe 500 tops but even at that is a lot. I’m waiting for my 1088XEL, and I hope to get the xld and then 576+ I still look at hardware and is tempting but I agree
  15. Something interesting happened. Note that I did not win the auction. As soon as the auction ended, the seller contact me. I had not win the Auction. He said that the buyer did not want to pay shipping (I do think the shipping is a bit high to be honest). This sounded suspicious to me. I wonder if this is possible but maybe he had another account to bid and increase the price? I'm not sure if eBay monitors this. I purchased something after I lost, so I told the seller that he can feel free to relisted. He said he will relisted for buy now 500 + shipping. But the winner won for 591 + shipping. So, if he is willing to bring it down to 500, I wonder why he would not find a way to fix this with the buyer. Of course, I do think that is bad that a buyer does not stand by his/her word. However, this seems to me a bit strange. I sold some stuff in eBay years ago (maybe like 15 years ago). So, I'm not sure if this is common or not.
  16. Hi, I'm looking for two books: * Atari Roots * Atari Graphics and Arcade Game Design Ideally in good condition and no smell. I have the print out and PDFs but I want the actual books. Thanks
  17. I found this book https://www.amazon.com/Programming-65816-Including-65C02-65802/dp/0893037893/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=65c816&qid=1606500684&sr=8-1 Is there any other book or resource that you recommend for the 68c186? Of course, the different question if I would have much time to do anything. The Atari Roots foe 6502 atari seems good. I have done assembly like this but never in the Atari. Very cool answers @ivop and @drac030 Thank you so much for taking the time to feed my curiosity.
  18. If someone developed a game or graphical application on the rapidus, could you go directly to vbxe? wouldn’t the joystick be a problem !
  19. Would Rapidus be able to access vbxe directly or would need to use the 6502 or some other component? Wouldn’t a game slow down to read the joystick input ?
