  1. Hi. I just recently got a 2600 system and while it did come with an archer, I could not use it on the TV that I have. So, are there other game/tv switches that could work with different types of TV sets, or ones that can go into composite sites? It is sort of driving me nuts.

  2. I was thinking about starting a new thread on my present question, but I already have this one, so I may as well conserve other people's cyberspace.

For some reason, the assembler/compiler programs of 5200 code do not work on my computer, which uses Vista. I suspect that it is an incompatibility issue. Does anyone know of any programs that would work with Vista?

  3. I now understand that it is no different to making 2600 games. This answers most of my previous questions.

Hi. I am interested in making an Atari 5200 game in 6502 Assembly code. How should I go about doing so, as in:

-What assembler/compiler would be the most optimal to use?

-How could one create a ROM or BIN from a compiled game?

-What emulators are used to play 5200 games?

-How does one transfer a BIN image to an actually 5200 cartridge?

And additionally, are there any source code files for 5200 games?

    Thank you.

  5. I think that he went away from the company because Capcom never seemed to respect Inafune's wants and demands for the Megaman series. For instance, the X series was supposed to end at X5, but Capcom decided that three more were necessary; this completely obliterated Inafune's constructed storyline. Megaman Zero was also supposed to have the original X as the main villian, but Capcom didn't want that, so it was changed.

  6. Try running it from the command prompt instead of double-clicking the executable; that will at least let you see what the text is saying. The easiest way to do this is to open a command prompt window, drag and drop the executable into it, and press ENTER.

It's probably expecting some command-line parameters (which it wouldn't get if you're double-clicking it); if so, the text is probably a "help screen" to show you what the parameters are.

    Doesn't seem to work...

  7. Do the rest of you get the notion that the video games that are contemporary suck these days? I seriously look at the games available for the PS3 and the like and I am not impressed; I don't feel like getting a current-generation system at all. It seems as if the only decent games that get made are for the handheld systems.

Not to mention that everyone seems to hate the 14th installation of Final Fantasy; that, and everything seems so "Western" oriented now. It is like everyone just focuses on the graphics, and whatnot.

  8. I haven't heard of any atari console clones. Though this gallery of old soviet arcade games is a bit neat. One of them looks quite super-sprintish.

Speaking of the Dendy, I have a chinese famiclone called a Liko KL-235 which was made for the Russian market. Oddly I got it at a Big Lots here in the states. I expect they got a lot of returns, because of the odd power supply and 'unamerican' output...

    That is very interesting.
