  1. Can anybody help me with this one? I just hooked up my Atari 2600 system for the first time in ten years and little fragments are appearing on the sides of the screen. I only have one game so idk if its just the game. (see the dotted veritical line on the left side)
  2. I just got it in the mail today and the Atari 2600 wire doesn't fit in the adapter. Did I buy the wrong thing?
  3. I just found this thread and this site searching for a Nintendo 64 controller to buy online. For third party controllers the brands I found are. GTron Innovation Retro-Bit Sumo Tomee Yobo Here are bad reviews I found. Innovation: "This is the worst controller I have ever bought, and here's why: The first thing I noticed was how noisy the buttons are. The last thing you want, while playing games which require focus, is noisy buttons - especially while enjoying the music. The next thing, was the how the A and B buttons are offset from the original N64 controller design. The picture above is not the same as what you'll get now. The A button is centered to the left and bottom C buttons. So, if you're used to the original button layout, you won't like this one. The last and most important thing was how unresponsive the joystick is. This joystick has to be the least precise and responsive joystick I have ever played on. You have to push it down all the way (in whichever direction) to make it respond. So, playing any sort of game which requires precise movement (especially ones that are timed) will make things very frustrating. An example of my frustration: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time In the Fire Temple, there is a room where you obtain the Megaton Hammer. In order to get it, you have to hit a switch which lowers the fire that surrounds the chest which contains it, and then you have to run around a very narrow edge of a big hole ... all the way around ... to get it. The switch is timed, so you have to run without hesitation in order to get to the chest before the fire goes back up. If you fall off the edge where you have to run, you'll fall down to a lower level, and will have to make your way back up to the room. I tried running around the narrow edge for a half hour with this controller and was unsuccessful in every attempt. It was very frustrating falling to the lower level over and over. Finally, I decided to use my Nintendo Wavebird controller, and I made it all the way around in ONE ATTEMPT, without even a warm-up on the controller. In short, don't buy this controller because it's noisy and unresponsive. It's funny how, on the box, it says "Precise 3d-Analog Stick" ... It couldn't be farther from the truth." Retro-bit: "I bought this item two days ago and wrote a review on it (same controller but different box, thats how I can write two about the same product). I gave it three stars out of five because the joystick was too sensitive and my on-screen character would start moving around randomly throughout the game which made it really hard when you wanted to shoot something. Well, two days later the joystick does not work. You have to push forward to go right and backward to go left (and that only works sometimes - I don't know how to go forward or backward)." "feels a bit funky compared to the original and the resistance on the joystick isn't quite the same but it works great otherwise." Sumo: "When you shake the controller you can hear rattling from what sounds like a loose screw. It still works, but the buttons and controls feel cheap. You get what you pay for." "When i shake this controller I cannot hear anything because mine has no loose screws in it. It works great with no problems and of course it may feel like the buttons are cheap; thats why you paid the low price for it!!!! buy a nintendo brand if you dont want to complain about the cheap plastic feel!!!" Tomee: "The buttons respond very well and the design is more comfortable than the original. The problem is the control stick which is very sensitive. Was playing F-zero X with it and trying to adjust the racer's slide bar was difficult due to the high sensitivity. Racing was fine with it. Pushing the control stick up or down takes more effort than side to side and the side to side sensitivity is extremely high. Not a bad controller to replace a broken official one but it may not be what you are looking for."
