  1. "Console generations" get stupid when you start trying to justify where mid generation consoles like Jaguar and 3DO belong in the progression. Better leave that nonsense to Adam Koralik videos.
  2. Only someone experienced should attempt the RGB mod.
  3. Never heard so much belly-aching. The design is cool. I always played on a big red too, but by no means does the design need to be that. They need to fix that button layout, or I can see myself rewiring it. It's too bad Neo Turfmasters isn't included so far, because I can see that game working with mini controls, unlike action games. You can always plugin a controller though. The ability to buy and download more games will really put this over the top. I can see kids wanting this system, which I think could make it a winner! In that regard, the design is great. I did not buy the Nintendo mini systems, but I will definitely buy this. Probably only because I'm a huge Neo fanboy though. I already have all the games.
  4. Hopefully whoever mocked it up simply fucked up the button order. Count me interested. Wonder if it'll run in AES mode or freeplay.
  5. I got the X on launch day. My original fat Xbone is boxed up and in storage. Weren't there any Xbox One X enhanced games that you had to download update patches for?
  6. The AES shows no boot screen without a cart. The screen should be solid blue with no cart. https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=System_self-test
  7. Sega Saturn. As I have often mentioned in my videos, when I got Neo Geo a bit after that, it was forced to measure up, and the newer games certainly did.
  8. Those gx TV's should have had scart inputs for RGB. They could have sold the cables. That would have been a real gaming TV. Imagine the collectors today.
  9. Love SNES pads with L amd R on the front for SFII! I remember wanting the High Performance one they sold at Toys R Us back in the day until we finally bought one.
  10. I'm sure my brothers and I can record footage. I'm just saying it would be nice to bring in an outside consultant for insight into the ins and outs of thr fighting system.
  11. If Japan hadn't swept in to revive consoles in the mid 80's I doubt I would have become the gamer I am today. Offerings from Western developers of the 80's and 90's were usually bland by my tastes at the time, especially on consoles. If only I had figured that out sooner, I probably would have wasted fewer weekends on bad game rentals.
  12. I'm sorry if you don't like collecting. I try to hold on to the items I had growing up and add things I've always wanted from time to time.
  13. Thanks guys! I make a point of playing all games with two players whenever possible, since footage of mutiplayer games on Youtube is overwhelmingly 1-player and that annoys me. I do plan to get help reviewing fighting mechanics in future videos, since I'm casual and it isn't my forte.
  14. Decided it's time I jump ahead and review a new Neo Geo game for once:
  15. MS didn't invent that. They continued it directly from Sega. I agree with you aboit the arrangement of the PS shapes. I also wish they hadn't swapped X and O as enter and cancel buttons in Western markets.
  16. I wasn't considering the NES. The cartridge loading mechanism was a design flaw that can be corrected. A popular console, but an exeption to the rule.
  17. You've got some dirty carts and slots if it takes you more than two tries to get a game working. Can't believe you're even mentioning the issue in this discussion.
  18. Sure, my coworkers are the same. But your argument in this thread is too extreme for a mainstream audience.
  19. Don't bring your retrogaming opinions to work. I work in IT myself. Nothing good can come from it.
  20. If you're investing in a nice joystick and want it to work on as many consoles as possible, PS2 compatible is the best way to go.
  21. I'm surprised you guys are having trouble 'tating' in the age of cheaply available small LCDs.
