  1. It will work. You may want to buy a US equivalent voltage supply eventually. I reccomend unplugging the adapter when not in use.
  2. I had a 1080i 46" Sony projection set I loved back in 2008. But I wouldn't go back to it now. The built-in speakers were good though.
  3. RGB modded AV Famicom with a converter is my NES.
  4. AVGN is a lot more knowledgable about movies than games. Watch his movie videos.
  5. All right. I'll give you the N64 because of the built-in anti-aliasing. But not the NES. RGB mod that thing instead of doing HDMI, which will eventually be outdated. Spend the money on a Framemeister you can use on all your consoles.
  6. On HDTV's it's Framemeisted or the highway. Stop drilling HDMI holes in your consoles.
  7. I can do that too. My brother and I should make a no miss video on 2-player mode.
  8. Elmer, after finishing every one of my videos, there's always something I wished I had put in. You're making me wonder what if I'd gone that far and went into that level of detail for the fans. It's a good thing actually, because I'm new to this and my methods are ever-evolving. I really appreciate the feedback.
  9. I knew no matter what I did you wouldn't be satisfied. I had people like you in mind when I made it, but also wanted to keep it accessible. I didn't play the game back in the day, and found it hard to understand what people had trouble with. But for what it's worth, I didn't miss these points. I thought the armor parts were obvious enough to today's players and didn't want to go that far into it for the video. The time I spent focusing on the power ups was enough for most viewers I think. I also mention picking up energy for the armor in the NES portion.
  10. Alpha Mission II is up. Please leave comments. Thanks for watching!
  11. CGQ, I just wanted to mention I'm a big fan of both your channels. Since starting our channel, my brother and I have grown disillusioned with Youtube's algorithm. I worry I'm not seeing all the content I would really enjoy.
  12. I remember "tapes". Man, nostalgia is a powerful thing! It makes me a warm fuzzy feeling to remember that now.
  13. Point taken. However, I must correct you there. These aren't just random Neo Geo games. This is a series! The videos are being made in order of the game catalogue numbers. It would be easier to just review whatever I feel like, but that's not the constraint I set for myself. We are concerned as a young channel that our initial focus has been too hard core: PC-88 and Neo Geo. That's why I recently made the Star Fox 2 examination video. Although I do think that the Neo Geo is kind of in vogue right now. Unfortunately the third basement brother has been MIA up to this point. He plans to make more Sega and Nintendo videos, so the channel is currently missing that third pillar. I must stop complaining about Youtube's system now, knowing that I have no choice but to work within it, as others here have rightly pointed out. Back on topic, I have to admit that I watch a lot of Youtube. The gaming shows (along with communities like this one) make me feel like this hobby still matters. It can be a double-edged sword. All the attention may bring the johnny-come-lately's who drive up prices and may not even stick around very long. I have no doubt though that some of these new gamers will become valuable contributors to the hobby. I also have to thank content creators like John Hancock and Metal Jesus for showing it's okay to be a collector.
  14. -Best Buy. The store manager was changing games and showing it off. Crash and Burn and Dragon's Lair. Saw the CD-I for the first time at the same store. -Dayton's which was later bought by Macy's. Not an electronics retailer, but had a small appliance section in the basement. It was just the kind of overpriced item they would carry. Of course Pebble Beach Gold Links was running on display.
  15. Watching a 3DO mod on youtube discoruaged me from ever doing one. Not sure if it's reasonable to do this for customers on much of a scale. Hope it can be made simpler. Good luck on this.
  16. That's obviously what we're debating right now as a channel. Thanks for the encouragement, btw. It has already slightly negatively affected my job and although my wife is a big supporter, she is not happy about the schedule. I have no interest in youtube fame, and don't expect money. Just a decent handful of views and comments would be nice to acknowledge my efforts. A few thousand views would be good at this point. I'd like to know that what I'm doing is good for something.
  17. I've quit watching channels because I got annoyed by finds/unboxing vids. But do keep in mind you don't have to watch all their videos. As long as the good stuff is easy enough to distinguish.
  18. These are career Youtubers. Look how many hits they get. You take the latest headline, switch the camera on, and talk about it. I'm not going to say they're all crap. I do think Youtube needs to eventually build in a better way to distinguish actual content and just talking heads. Not sure how we do that when the clickbaity stuff gets the views. I was hoping to get some of their views when I moved up my planned Star Fox 2 video after the SNES Mini was announced, but that hasn't worked so far. Nope. Take any headline. Look for ones about the Everdrive voltage then.
  19. While, I see your point, I also think there are enough Metal Slug videos already. That would kind of spoil the point of the series.
  20. dj_convoy, so in 5 years then, when I get to the "monumental" games? My wife is mad about the loss of my Saturday mornings now.
  21. I don't know if Youtubers are "ruining" the hobby per se, but I do watch a lot of their stuff. Under-researched or clickbaity vids are annoying though. I try to over-research and I get my vids peer reviewed before posting anything. I think I started making videos too late. It's very frustrating to sacrifice your whole weekend three weeks in a row to make a video and then struggle just to get to 200 views. I am grateful that people are watching, and it's quality over quantity, as it seems to be the correct audience watching, but it's annoying all the same. We're not great with social media or anything so we don't know what we're doing wrong. I've heard things could change after hitting 1,000 subs, so I hope that's true.
  22. Just watched this. I was really impressed by your commitment to the console, even considering the monster collections you have for other systems! Love it! I have a 7800 collection that's about 2/3 complete. Most games are complete in box, because that's not very hard to get. I only have a few homebrew carts I picked up, including Plutos, Sirius, Burger Drop (POKEY) and an NTSC Sentinel. You have officially put me in my place.
  23. I don't remember the DC being that loud. I had two different early Asian models from before the North American launch. I think the original Xbox 360 is louder.
  24. Original hardware modded with NESRGB on the Framemeister or a CRT.
