Barnyard Blaster Review... That is an interesting one. :)
DJ Clae replied to gorfcadet's topic in Atari 7800
The art makes me nostalgic for old Apple II games, but sadly there's little going on gameplay-wise. Turn it on and shoot stuff for a few minutes until you're bored. I agree with the review. -
Top loader NES AV mod from CatHouse Games
DJ Clae replied to MegaManFan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, it's simple. You most likely will need to mod your converter too. -
Trying to Review Every Neo Geo Game on Youtube
DJ Clae replied to DJ Clae's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Kraut Buster is a new game for Neo Geo from NG:Dev.Team. I decided to do a video review for my Youtube series: No King of the Monsters yet, but it's a new game at least. This video is not part of the main series. I'm still reviewing all the games in order. -
Such is not always the case with modded Duos, since a lot of people opt to replace the composite video with CSYNC. Make sure to buy the cable with the sync stripper inside when you go RGB.

Top loader NES AV mod from CatHouse Games
DJ Clae replied to MegaManFan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I already did what I reccomend in my Youtube video -- NESRGB + Blinking Light Win. I would like to see NESRGB on the toploader. Unfortunately there's no good way to do expansion audio on the US toploader, since they removed the pins. -
I can appreciate the clean review format and presentation. I agree, this is a good port.

Can't wait to get mine!

I wasn't aware of any issues with the N8. I've had a decent experience so far.

The save states that were added to the original SD2SNES are spotty at best. They don't work on special chip games. But I also couldn't save on the original Jelly Boy/Smart Ball for some reason.

Retro King Console - including games from Atari Age
DJ Clae replied to Inky's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Good luck, guys. -
Looks like I picked the wrong time to buy an SD2SNES last year. The value of save states (not used for cheating) on an adult schedule should not be overlooked.

I thought the caps had gone out on a lot of my arcade boards over the years while I kept most of them in storage. Now that I have time to work on them again, it turns out the majority of the boards are fine. I noticed most of the ones that had problems were just missing green. Turns out the jamma pin for green on my supergun just wasn't making a good connection for some of the boards. Bent it back and all is well again with most of my games.

What Is Classic Gaming's Greatest Need?
DJ Clae replied to blainelocklair's topic in Classic Console Discussion
An easy way to recap our failing old consoles and arcade boards without being a soldering master with 5 hours and a box of spare parts laying around. -
Golf Paradise/Swing Away Golf for the PS2 was my brother's and my go-to golf game for a long time. I can't get into any bland Hot Shots games because I've forever been spoiled by the precision and ease of Golf Paradise. There's always Big Tournament Golf/Neo Turfmasters for quick pick-up-and-play.

Ranking the NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy according to difficulty
DJ Clae replied to mbd30's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, I agree. Ninja Gaiden 3 and Streets of Rage 3 have the same problem. Don't forget Contra Hard Corps. -
Ranking the NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy according to difficulty
DJ Clae replied to mbd30's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I gree with the OP. People seem to exaggerate the difficulty of the first one. My brother and I beat Ninja Gaiden 2 the day after we got it as kids. For Ninja Gaiden 3 the only way to compare it the other two is to play the Famicom version. The enemies do twice the damage in the international release, and there are limited continues. It's just ridiculous. -
All Your Console Favorites, New In The Boxes!
DJ Clae replied to blainelocklair's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Just wanted to say I love this thread. Thank you. I haunted Babbages and the like with my brothers a lot as a kid. We would save our allowance money, and later PT job money, every month or so to go to the mall in the city. I bought one of those Genesises with Sonic back in the day. It wasn't our first Genesis. My younger brother got a launch model for xmas that we convinced him to sell later (regret). -
Why is the Xbox One Dashboard experience so horrible?
DJ Clae replied to DracIsBack's topic in Microsoft Xbox One
I don't have any problem with the current incarnation. I'm used to it. The PS4 dash gives me more anxiety at this point. Probably because I have less experience with it. -
I started playing the ultimate edition last week. Haven't had that much time to play. It kind of feels like just going through the motions at this point, having 3 games under my belt. They added stuff, but it feels like more of the same.

Gamehut on how hard it was to code for Saturn
DJ Clae replied to deepthaw's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Lazy Saturn programming is wasteful. You're wasting all that power... The power. The POWER! -
The speed traps can be fun when I'm there with the right car and ready to try until I get it. Otherwise I don't want it bugging me on the map all the time. The drift zones can just go to hell. Honestly, the first Horizon was my favorite partly because the game was so finite. The setting and the length made it best capture the mood of being at a festival. The others are too bloated.

Consoles that make owning other consoles redunant
DJ Clae replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Only because the OP's statement about it was profoundly ignorant.
