  13. Well still working, this one little add that has only been running for two weeks now, has just produced 2 more calls from 2 girls today, one with a four switch and one with a sunnyvale, both with 10-15 games two joysticks on one ,and 4 joys and 3 sets of paddles with the other one, one atari 2600 box and some manuals and a game holder, all free!! one girl is even bringing the stuff to me, she lives 1 hour away and is coming in town for something tomorrow and meeting my down the road, FREE!!!!! I know someone reading this dont believe me, dude trust me, just place your add in the paper and watch what happens, not everyone wants to give the stuff away but most everyone that i have gotten stuff from only wants $10-$15-$20 for a whole box of atari stuff that has been in storage for 15-20 years and they are glad to give it away or make a couple of buck on it, and they usually dont have a clue what they have, just want to get rid of it, most of the stuff i have gotten this way has been allmost totally mint some still boxed stuff, just do it ok!!!!!
  14. Hey more than half the calls i got , and where i have gotten most of my stuff is from the add i placed in the thrifty nickel, so try that or your local little free classified trader paper or whatever you have there!!
  15. Went to see two people who called about my newspaper add that simply read- "atari stuff wanted, games, consols, joysticks, paperwork, boxes, working or not, anything atari related, please call *******"-- and payed each one ten bucks $10 and got, 1 darth vader, 1 heavy sixer "boxed" mint, 4 joysticks mint, touch pad, power supplies, tv switch, hand full of manuals quite a few i didnt have, game holder and 40 games mint. nothing earth shadering in the games but they are in better shape than some of mine!!! (wabbit, star trek op sim ,burmuda triangle, just to name a few) and a cool yars revenge comic book that i have never seen before, It felt pretty good, what i liked most was the vader, in perfect condition, i did not have one so when i saw it i got a tummy full of atari shaped butterflies, or something like that, " you know what i mean"!!! I will up date you as my news paper add produces more results, you better place yours now, you dont know how easily people will call and just give stuff away if you just remind them that they have it!!!
  16. Got two calls today from two different people, both had "boxes" of old atari stuff controllers power adapters tv switches games holders ext... 1 said he had 1 big box totally full of games and said just come get them you can have them!!! Going tomorrow to get them, I will let you know what goodies i find!!!
  17. Yes i play all my games, havent played all yet, been to busy collecting, but this whole thing started on december 20 just a month ago, I wanted to buy and atari 2600 and about 5--10 games and one controller, just because i wanted to play a few games I played as a kid. My first outing on dec 23, i found 5 boxes of 2600 stuff in the back storage of a game place, I looked through them trying to pick out 5 or 10 and a consol, thinking to spend $25--$50 and the guy jokingly said you can have it all for $200, didnt know a thing about atari collecting and said ok anyway just for the heck of it, it was 400 games 2 consols joysticks manuals ext... all working, and that started the hunger if you know what i mean, found atari age few days later, talked to several of you guys, and realised what i had found, and the rest is 1 month of very intense history, well buy for now, HAPPY HUNTING!!!!
  18. I placed an add in the thrifty nickol and in the local paper, in the wanted section and in the computer electronics section, you would be surprised how many people look in those sections just to pass the time, my add said, " Atari stuff wanted, games, consols, joysticks, boxes, paperwork, working or not, anything atari related, please call *** * *** ** * *". Thats it and in one week I scored some awesome stuff!! You would be surprised who if they read that add, it reminds them of thier old atari stuff sitting in storage for 15 years and they are just willing to give it away or sell for very little, "$15 bucks for 2 boxes full of stuff", to -" I have have 250 games and 3 consols and joysticks ext... you can just have it if you come pick it up" What a feeling!!! Try it and let me know how it works for you.
  19. First of all this is not to brag, totally- but as of today i have been collecting 2600 for 1 month "only" . With some of your help and advice and tips, i have been able to travel to 5 states and go to to 38 thrift shops, 13 pawn shops, 12 different game stores (mostly game x change), very little ebay and 11 responces to news paper adds ( you would be surprized at what people are willing to just give you from an add in the paper) under $1000.00 total investment as of 1-24-03, i have managed to acquire, allmost 1000 games- 450 different games and 500+ dups and 25 boxed games , 9 consols ( 2 sunnyvale 6er's 1 with box never used- 6 4 switch's and 1 jr) all working perfect but 1. 20 joysticks paddles and keypad, pair of atari remote joys brand new boxed never used, 2 game centers 1 new sealed never opened, 1 sealed boxed 10 game rom scanner game changer!!, 2 brand new brown atari 8 game closeable folder holders 150 eprom chip games with 2 different kinds of eprom carts, 300 manuals, the last huge box of games i finished going through produced some shocking carts that bring some of my rare games up to --waterworld, malagai, shuttle orbittor, crazy climber, demolishon hurby, texas chainsaw masacure, haloween, rubic's cube, atari video cube, smurfs, gremlins, and combat just to name a few. ( threw combat in just to see if you were still with me). So thanks for all your help and advice and tips, yes i will be sharing some of the wealth before to long so stay tuned for my want and trade list's coming to a forum near you SORRY IT'S SO LONG!!! DONT BE MAD
  20. Hey dont kill me if this is totally wrong, but i read an article and saw a pic the other day that was about the japan released version 2800 and they talked about the differences in the joysticks, how the japanese joystick was a little bigger and had a round grip much more comfortable to use than the american joystick, and that looks like the one in the pic i saw. I think thats right, anyone else know if that sounds right
  21. Hey i want to make a small free web site dedicated to my atari stuff, can someone help me, where to look how to start, I am web site illiterate, is there even such thing as a free web site????? Please help!!!!!!!
  22. In my experience with heavy sixers with the switch no switch problem i found, even on a new one i got yesterday, the hole was there ,on any that i have seen or had, on the right bottom lip of the console. For a while i thought there was no switch, until i took it apart, you cant see it through the hole at all unless you get a small flash light down in the hole and you have to use a little screw driver to get to it, but there it was. Now that is just in my experiences with the hole switch dilema. On some it might not be there at all, take it apart and look if you can.
