  1. After many refinements, I think I have the AI opponent just right. Very close to finished now I believe. I actually still have an entire 4K bank unused of he 16K. I wish I knew how to do music for before the game starts , like Harlem Globetrotters theme... If anyone wants to contribute a music routine I am all for it :).

Some final tweaks for realistic gameplay include allowing players and AI opponent to stop a dunk in progress by being in the way / jumping .

Note: There is a weird bug that pops up very rarely which I call the "deflated ball" , where the ball cannot be picked up . If for any reason the ball cannot be retrieved , or if you are trapped by the AI opponent, press select and the ball will be reset at bottom of screen.

I recommend reading the instructions to maximize experience.

Can you only play the AI in one-one-one? Can you play AI in Horse or Around the World?

  2. Would it be possible to break the game into stages and have a boss at the end of every stage? Even if it were the same boss it would still break things up. Also, possibly having a way to replenish your health?

Again, I have not progressed too far so some of these things may already be in the game. If they are please disregard.

    Just my two cents.

  3.

That package design is awesome, man, major props.  Would you be interested in doing the box and label art for ChaoticGrill when it's completed?

One small suggestion on how the text on the back of the box could be improved: You start both paragraphs 2 and 3 with "Hoping to", which sounds awkward. I would instead start paragraph 3 with "In an effort to" and eliminate this clause from the first sentence of the 2nd paragraph. Thus the 2 paragraphs would then read:

Hoping to seize the power crystals for itself to make its armies invincible, the evil Calamitous Cube has declared war on Gytaraxis. Using virulent vibrations, the Calamitous Cube has eaten holes through the energy barriers that protect Gytaraxis.

In an effort to fend off the Calamitous Cube, the Gytaraxians have called upon the legendary repair ship known as Gyvolver to fix the energy barriers and keep the crystals from falling into the Calamitous Cube's grasp.

Thanks for catching that! I've updated the manual and box art.

I'll have to get back to you re Chaotic Grille (which looks awesome, by the way). Busy with after-hours work-related stuff for the next 2 months at least. When are you looking to have the artwork, etc, done by?

    Thanks,

    Brian

  4. For me, Raiders, SwordQuest and Riddle of the Sphinx were the 'deep' games back then.

And Escape from the Mindmaster fascinated me, but unfortunately I didn't own a Supercharger.

Space Shuttle seemed the most complex game for me back then.

    Played it a lot.

I just watched a playthrough of Riddle of the Sphinx on YouTube the other day. I could never pass it as a kid. Not sure why I even bothered. Man, what a boring game. And absolutely no payoff.

  5. I agree with you on Raiders, Space Shuttle, and Fathom. I got seriously into all 3 & completed them back in the day. The Sword Quest games on the other hand were far too complicated for me. (I didnt even understand the whole comic book page hints & such)

Others for me included Pitfall II & Montezumas Revenge.

I could never land the goddamn shuttle.

  6. Hey RT —

Here's something I put together. Still a little rough in places, but getting there. I also added a little more to the game's backstory. Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Brian

  7. At the moment my priority list is to resume work on SpiceC, doing an updated take on Space War as the test project. After that I'll be rebooting Frantic and Timmy! to use SpiceC.

I might eventually look into RPG again, though it would be Harmony Only game as I won't offer it up for sale due to the compatibility issue. There's a couple other Bus Stuffing games in the same situation:

Thanks for sharing those. Elevator Action looks incredible too. Hopefully that one gets completed one of these days.

Yes, check the Bus Stuffing link then take the link for RPG in the first post. That'll run on a Harmony Cart as well as current versions of Stella. Do note that while you can move around to explore the world, collect coins and buy the shield and sword, it's not a finished game.

The other demos (and builds of RPG prior to June 6, 2017) will also run on a Harmony Cart. If you want to see them in Stella you'll need to install 5.0.0-pre6 or -pre7 as the Bus Stuffing routines were in flux at the time.

This is amazing. Any plans to make a full game out of this?
