  1. Nice! What's the cartridge holder inside the box look like. Can we get an inside shot? -B
  2. If you do move forward with this, you may want to have the speed of the bomber be different from the speed of the buckets. Maybe even have the bomber controlled by the joystick, instead of the paddles. You can whip back and forth pretty quickly using the paddles, which benefits the person controlling the buckets. But the bomb thrower should be at a slight disadvantage, and move slower, otherwise the game may be too chaotic. Just my two cents. -B
  3. I don't own a ColecoVision, but this game and the packaging look sweet. Very professional. You did a really nice job with this. I may have to buy a ColecoVision yet...(insert evil laugh here). -B
  4. You sure the copy didn't say the game was for the Sega Shaturn?
  5. Great stuff, grafixbmp. Very impressive! -B
  6. I like the random room idea. As for the timer, it could reset for each room but the game could keep a running total that is displayed at the end. This way, you can have different times for each room, depending on difficulty. B
  7. I never heard of that game. Just looked it up on YouTube. Pretty cool. I may have to buy a copy of that -B
  8. Yeah, that one was my favorite. Press A For More was a close second -B
  9. I had an idea for a 2600 game, and I thought I'd share it with everyone, in case anyone thinks it's interesting and wants to give it a shot. The game is called DOORS. Basic premise of the game: You are a normal guy trapped by a madman inside a complex filled with a 100 (?) rooms (like Saw, or the Cube). Each room contains a puzzle, that you must solve in order to get the key to unlock the door to advance to the next room. There is a timer that counts down, adding some tension. Not sure how much time would be given for each room, or if it would vary, but you get the idea. You can walk over certain items to pick them up, and then use the fire button to set them down. If you cannot solve the puzzle and exit the room in the allotted time, you die and the game is over. If you do solve the puzzle, a key will appear in the middle of the room, and you can then unlock the door at the top and proceed to the next room/puzzle. Solve all 100 (?) puzzles, and you win your freedom back. Here's some very, very rough sample screens that I whipped up. I pretty much stole the sprite of the man, and the outer playfield shape from Berzerk, and just changed the colors. Title screen: Room 1 You start on board one that contains a checkerboard pattern for a floor: Once you step on the boxes in each of the four corners, a key appears: Grab the key, and the door at the top of the screen unlocks, allowing you to run to the next room: Room 2 Room 2 contains 4 grays squares, and four odd, vase-like shapes: You'll need to pick up each vase and drop it on a gray square. When all gray squares are covered, the key appears: You can then proceed to the next room: And so on, and so on.... Not sure if this is doable, or how much space/rom this would require. I'm not a programmer. And since I'm not a programmer, please don't tell me to code this myself. I had an idea, and I am just passing it along, in the event that someone thinks it's a viable idea and wants to run with it. No pride of ownership here. Any thoughts/feedback always welcome EDIT: One thing I didn't add, that should probably be included, is the number of the room you're in. Thanks, -B
  10. Anyone interested in opening up a video game store, this guy's selling his entire inventory: Legit? -B
  11. That's amazing. What program did you use for this? -B Sorry, I didn't mean to make it seem like I had created it. All music and the 3D model are ©Ben Anderson 2008. So I don't know what program it is. Maybe someone else here knows. Oops! That's what I get for not reading. Still cool, though. -B

  13. Lady Bug is one of, if not the best, 2600 Homebrew games out there, IMO. You can't go wrong with that one. I just picked Turbo up a few weeks ago, and it's really good as well. The retro Coleco packaging alone makes it worth picking up. -B
  14. is that a Photoshop comp, or is that an actual prototype? Either way, looks great! -B
  15. God only knows where half those carts have been before they end up in our hands (shudders) -B
  16. Well, if he's thinking what I'm thinking, it's because our Goodwills don't have any of this cool stuff, EVER! I just stopped at a Salvation Army down the road from me during lunch. Nothing classic related, or if it was modern any good. They had two Xbox '06 Top Spins. That's about it. Exactly. All I ever see at my local Goodwill are PS2s, PSOnes, and Sega systems. Never once have I gone in there and found anything from Atari or Nintendo on display. I like finding that diamond in the rough for cheap, which is something I can't do going to Digital Press or stores like that. Even the Meadowlands Flea Market sucks lately, unless I count that Super NES that the seller had sitting in a puddle of water, or the Donkey Kong Country cart that was so dirty it looked like it was fished out of a landfill. -B
