I'll see your and raise you a -
Starting with yours L.E.M. is a really fun game, and I highly recommend it. -B

I wasn't even aware of that site. Once I make some high-resolution versions I'll be sure to upload them there. Thanks! -B

Nice! If your sprites don't get into a game at some point, it would be a shame. You do some really nice work with such a limited palette. -B
-
Nice! Or the sleestak from the Land of the Lost Maybe a Land of the Lost 2600 game is in order... -B I remember rushing home from school to watch the early 80's version of the show. You're right though, they do look like the sleestak creatures... just ever-so creepy. Hahaha. Me, too. I had a Land of the Lost lunch box! I was so disappointed by the Will Ferrel remake. -B

Thanks! PM sent.

Mentis Cohorts - Four Odyssey Games in One

 Awesome job on the box art! Was this artwork created from scratch? -B -
^uhh, marc paid you a compliment on page one. ^ very cool work by the way. i like them! Oops! Didn't realize that Thanks!

Hi Phil, That's not a bad idea. Do you have Marc's contact info, so I can send him a email? I'm curious as to what the pricing for something like this would be. I am thinking that I may just start with the boxes. Most likely have a poll to see which 3 or 4 people would really like to see produced. I figure I'd probably do a small run of 25? Not really sure... EDIT: No need to send address. I'll just shoot him an email through his Freelancer Games site. Thanks, -B

You won't be earning any rep points with that attitude -B

Yeah, I like that one, too. It's so incredibly simple. Amazing how two basic shapes convey eyes that are looking back in fear. I'll try one in yellow tonight to see how it looks. Thanks! -B

Thanks, pinball22. I'll fix the Donkey Kong version. As far as the Adventure boxes go, I wasn't sure what colors to use. The yellow against the black is very bright. I wound up choosing a somewhat lighter version of the green used for the walls for the Chalice, and the orange of the actual game box for the dragon. Somewhat arbitrary, but there's only so many colors I can choose from w/ the 2600 -B

Hmmm, not sure. Perhaps Al could give me some info, or lend some assistance. I may shoot him a note later. -B

Thanks, man!

Spider-Man on the Android would also port well, I think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZSZ31i11NY Very simple, but pretty addicting. -B

Because making Popeye all black made him too hard to see (He's there, trust me)

So I went to Chuck.e.cheese for the first time in 20+ years

Hahaha. Exactly. -
Thanks, Chris. I'd have to look into a printer that could print a few of these up in low quantities at an affordable price. That may be a bit of a challenge, since they'd have to set up a die cut for the box shape, which costs a good amount of money. To do a small quantity with high set-up costs would be too expensive. I'd love to take 4-5 of the best ones, to start, and do a full set that includes outer box, reworked manual, and cart label. But it'd need to be done cheaply and will, of course, take some time. Everything I have shown has been done low-res. I'd have to recreate everything high-res, even if it were just the boxes. If anyone knows someone who could print up some of the boxes in low quantities for a good price, let me know. Thanks! -B

Thanks, Ax! Yeah, a poster would be sweet. I may have to try that. -B If you do a poster in this style, you'll have my money! I'm seeing 3 or 4 of the large iconic sprites, with screenshots and copy underneath. Either way, you've sparked my imagination with these! Thanks, Rev! I like your poster idea. I had imagined a poster containing a representative sprite from each common game, with just the Atari logo centered at the bottom. But having just 3 or 4 large sprites may also be cool. Another idea could be to have the Atari logo made up of a bunch of sprites, similar to the Unilever logo: Not sure how that would look, though. -B
-
Hahaha. That's the second request I've gotten for that. I'll make one later today or tonight, just for sh*ts and giggles. Who knows? It may actual look cool -B
-
Thanks Alex! I'm doing some research into the costs/time involved with creating a box, cart label, and (possibly) reworked manual for a few of the better-looking ones. -B

Hi all, Here's some new ones. Hope you like. Donkey Kong Front and Back: Adventure Front Back (2 versions): Outlaw: Haunted House: Centipede (Front only): Making these is kind of fun. Many of these sprites make for some nice design elements. Again, any thoughts are welcome! -B

I'm in Nutley.

It's funny you say that, because that curve is actually part of a large Atari symbol. I like you're idea of having the logo wrap around the box. I'd have to mess around with it and see how it would look. I wanted the box spine to be black, and having the logo wrap around the spine would cause the spine to be a dark gray, and I'm worried the colors wouldn't pop as much. Especially for something like Space Invaders or Berzerk, where the green really pops against the black. That's a really cool idea, though Thanks! -B

D'oh! I always get that wrong I'll be sure to fix if I ever get these printed. Nice to see a fellow New Jerseyan on here. You're actually one town over from me! -B
