These rock! Have a Merry Christmas

As far as legacy cartridges go, I like the Activision labels. But I have to agree with Tubular Gearhead, some of those homebrew labels are awesome.

Anybody could recognize what is a cartridge with a white label?
Unfortunately I don't speek Spanish and my ebay password doesn't work with Mexican ebay :/
I used Google Enhance:

Not so funny.
Noted. I'll try harder to please you next time.

I wasn't counting on a Christmas release, but I am anxious for an update binary to see some of the changes discussed.

I check this thread daily.
Same here. Can't wait to see a new binary.

BROS!
in Atari 2600
I think this is the game you're talking about:
Super Mega Bro Bro - Not a real game. It was an idea made up on the spot by Dean when the stock investor conducted an inspection of GameaVision in IPO. Possibly based on events in Dean's own life, as its protagonist is a frat boy named Dean.
Couldn't find a screenshot, however...

Just tried this out (shh.. I'm at work) and it's pretty good. Would be nice if you could have done the sides of the playfield so they aren't always the same length. Make it look more like rocky/sandy shores.
I agree w/ yuppicide. It would add some additional complexity if the user actually had to navigate through a snaking river. (see attached: Toobin_Shoreline.jpg)
A couple of additional suggestions:
1. Not sure I like how the player stays at the top. I think the player should be able to move down and back, independent of the playfield. Not sure if this is doable, though.
2. You may want to include some random sections that really speed up that are hard to navigate through (very rocky), like rapids. Would keep the player on his/her toes. (see attached: Toobin_Rapids.jpg)
3.Even pushing down, it seems as if the scrolling is too slow. This wouldn't be so bad if the game progressively sped up to make it more challenging.
Overall, however, I like it, and it's a really great start. Can't wait to see more.

Why doesn't anyone ever discover these things in Jersey?

Not to be a complete dweeb dork here, but those scores are impossible in Asteroids.

Hahaha. Nice catch. I didn't even notice that. I was more impressed that I didn't put them up crooked.
Now I have to fix it or it'll bug the hell out of me.
-B
Yeah man I think it friggin looks absolutely great except that one little fact would bug me as well
Asteroids scores are in increments of 10. I guess you can just put up a zero at the end
* Large Asteroids: 20
* Medium Asteroids: 50
* Small Asteroids: 100
* Large Saucer: 200
* Small Saucer: 1000
The sad part is that the package came with the extra dashboard/console cabinet decal that has the scoring key that you listed. I was just so anxious to get it up on the wall, I totally overlooked it. I have a few zeroes I can add

Thanks,
B

very nice.
Was the copyright atari and the ship remaining an option?
Yeah, everything comes together in one package. There's 65 pieces in all: asteroids, ships, numbers, copyright info, Atari logo. There's even the cabinet marquee and dashboard graphics. Not bad for the $$$.

Update: Got the decals and put them up in my office at work. So far, so good. Nothing but compliments on how cool they look
Hopefully the big boss doesn't make me take them down...

Sounds awesome. Are you planning on actually making this? Seems like it'd be really fun to play.

I had/have a game about Zombies in the works called "Game of The Living Dead". The name is a take on the movie Night of The Living Dead. I didn't get very far, probably because I haven't programmed in awhile. I also haven't done a game with more than one enemy updating at a time.
The game play is like the Activision game Oink! kind of. You start at the bottom and have to barricade your house in. The zombies come down the screen and try to break in your house to eat your brains.
I like this idea. Any chance of it becoming a reality?

Nice job on this

I think there's a free version of Tiger available also. Not sure how it stacks up, feature-wise, against the paid version, though.
Yeah, those emu game controls are hit or miss. I tried to play SEGA NHL 94 and got so frustrated I almost threw my phone out the window

B

Search the Market for "mame". The only thing that comes up is an app called TigerArcade(NAME) v.1.3.2. Looks like it has mixed reviews, though.
You'll also need to copy your zipped MAME ROM files to your phone in order to play, but you probably already knew that
I see lots of complaints in the game's comments from people bitching that the emulator sucks because there are no games built in...I've found trying to play emulated games on my phone is a bit clunky at best. I have an NES and SEGA emulator and, although the games run great, the controls are tough.

Hard to argue w/ that logic.
-
OK, makes sense. I like your idea. If you need help testing once you make the changes, let me know.
-B

I like the second option better as well. But why not give the player points for what is destroyed when the sector is cleared? Or, at the very least, a fixed amount -- say 50 points?
Looking forward to the next version.
