Wow! I can't believe I haven't seen this until today. What a fun game. Really nice job on this. -B

Does this mean we can expect a reworked Custer's RevEnge in 2011? -B

Yuppicide, As per your IM, here's the same packaging comp using the green box. I removed the red color from the label and manual. The red and green looked too Christmas-sy. That said, the red box seems to fit the overall Skull Island theme, in my opinion. -B

Awesome! Can't wait to see the rest. -B

This is great so far. I like your character animations. Perhaps you can have multiple levels, each one like a multi-level obstacle course. Start on one end and try to get to the other. Once you reach the end, you progress to a harder level, and so on. You might also add a timer that counts down or up, and gives you a bonus at the end based on how much time is left. If it counts down, it may add a certain level of tension as you play, forcing the user to choose speed over carefulness. You may also add powerups that you could pick up that add or take away time. Just my two cents. -B

I hadn't noticed that. Good catch. Splits would definitely make the game truer to life, and also improve player odds. -B

You could also use this type of box: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002XD1WF4/ref=asc_df_B002XD1WF41365942?smid=A12NZU21044JCT&tag=nextagusmp0384855-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395129&creativeASIN=B002XD1WF4 It's see-through plastic, and the puzzle is not terribly challenging, but it may look nice in contrast with the oak wood cart: -B

Found some sites of manufacturers of wooden puzzle boxes. They all appear to be overseas, with various minimum orders and pricing per unit: http://indiannautical.trustpass.alibaba.com/product/111665772-101775423/Wooden_Puzzle_Wooden_Games_Wooden_Puzzle_Box.html http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/wood-magic-box.html http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/235063267/Wooden_Magic_Game_Drink_out_of.html Couldn't find any in the US that were within a reasonable price range... -B

I've been looking online, but anything wooden and custom tends to be a good amount of $$$. Most of the cheaper wood boxes are unfinished, which means you'd have to stain them and imprint them yourself. -B

Very cool! I can't wait to see the final version of this.

As far as legacy cartridges go, I like the Activision labels. But I have to agree with Tubular Gearhead, some of those homebrew labels are awesome. -B

I used Google Enhance: -B Not so funny. Noted. I'll try harder to please you next time.

Same here. Can't wait to see a new binary. B

I think this is the game you're talking about: Super Mega Bro Bro - Not a real game. It was an idea made up on the spot by Dean when the stock investor conducted an inspection of GameaVision in IPO. Possibly based on events in Dean's own life, as its protagonist is a frat boy named Dean. Link here Couldn't find a screenshot, however... -B

I agree w/ yuppicide. It would add some additional complexity if the user actually had to navigate through a snaking river. (see attached: Toobin_Shoreline.jpg) A couple of additional suggestions: 1. Not sure I like how the player stays at the top. I think the player should be able to move down and back, independent of the playfield. Not sure if this is doable, though. 2. You may want to include some random sections that really speed up that are hard to navigate through (very rocky), like rapids. Would keep the player on his/her toes. (see attached: Toobin_Rapids.jpg) 3.Even pushing down, it seems as if the scrolling is too slow. This wouldn't be so bad if the game progressively sped up to make it more challenging. Overall, however, I like it, and it's a really great start. Can't wait to see more. -B

Can somebody explain why this 2600 is worth $1200?

Moving to new office and plan on getting these for back wall
Brian O replied to Brian O's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Hahaha. Nice catch. I didn't even notice that. I was more impressed that I didn't put them up crooked. Now I have to fix it or it'll bug the hell out of me. -B Yeah man I think it friggin looks absolutely great except that one little fact would bug me as well Asteroids scores are in increments of 10. I guess you can just put up a zero at the end * Large Asteroids: 20 * Medium Asteroids: 50 * Small Asteroids: 100 * Large Saucer: 200 * Small Saucer: 1000 The sad part is that the package came with the extra dashboard/console cabinet decal that has the scoring key that you listed. I was just so anxious to get it up on the wall, I totally overlooked it. I have a few zeroes I can add Thanks, B -

Yeah, everything comes together in one package. There's 65 pieces in all: asteroids, ships, numbers, copyright info, Atari logo. There's even the cabinet marquee and dashboard graphics. Not bad for the $$$. -B
