I noticed that I have a few boxed synapse software titles that aren't mentioned anywhere on atarimania. Is there a complete list of all the Syn- software titles released for the atari?

It would be awesome to make a brown label for a new product with original Atari labels. You sure B&C were using an old label machine?do some research, B&C actually had Atari labels. Where do you think all those Editor Assemblers came from.
They, some time ago, made them with quality labels. Another source was Albert, he also had some nice labels (Satan's Hollow, etc). Same label type.

I can't see the base code being any more than 64KB.
Ahh, so an XE Super Cart will do the trick. Awesome!

Like everyone else here:
* may I have first dibs on everything
* can you post pics of each item and a brief description
* may I have it for a dollar
Realistically though, ebay is your best bet. You'll probably turn a profit as long as each item has some mystery and one good photo of the item in question. List all of the copied disks in a large lot or a few split lots. And PLEASE try to list hardware with accompanying software.
Now on to the good part - are there any Atari 800 cards or joystick connected devices or special carts in the mix?

-
Can you open the cart and take a picture? Maybe it's a proto or CES demo...

Sorry, I meant will it work on the SIC! With a 4-mbit EPROM?1.327 per cent bigger than it is now.

-
I wonder how big the GUI will be after conversion to rom?
-
I would, however the site requires credit card info to download the file. When I get to an actual computer I'll make some screenshots and stitch the image together.
I'll take a few pictures of the device as well

I was thinking more along the lines of terminal emulation without an 80 column card.

I was looking at graphic modes of the Atari 8-bit and noticed some interesting aspects of ANTIC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_8-bit_family#Map_Modes
Is it possible to create a 1BPP screen thats 384x240 and if so, how does this compare to the other 320x200 mode?

Any updates on this device?

Drivers are the answer. Just get rid of the default mouse driver and replace it with one which supports the fancy hardware.
Have you given any thought on how your driver model will look?
Do you think it would hurt to practice with the Apple /// SOS driver manuals?

1KHz is not arbitrary. It took months of experimentation to arrive at that sample rate. Much slower, and you get roll-back when moving the mouse at speed. The mouse pointer is drawn once per frame.
Forgot about that annoying rollback issue. If 1kHz is what the mouse uses in the GUI now, then it's perfect. It's taken patience, persistence, and many man hours to get this GUI to the excellent benchmark it is currently at. I hope not only for good health and happiness for FJC, but also that we get to use this system in the near future. Thanks Jon!

Are there minimum cycle counts to maintain interface responsiveness, and does perception of responsiveness relate to the refresh rate of the screen? For example, what is the performance impact of the scheduler running at 10Hz vs 100Hz? Also what's the benefit of the mouse pointer at 1000Hz vs double the refresh @ 100Hz?
I want to better understand different polling routines and their relationship to the GUI and what does each cost in CPU cycles.

Actually, i saw something from the same seller a couple of days ago...

I totally spaced - I've read several posts about the debugger but never registered while going through Atari roots.
Talk about egg on my face...
GUI looks fantastic Jon, I hope someday I might be able to contribute in some small way.

Do you use a trace tool? I found a tool that I'm trying to use for my own code, but please share if you know of one that works better

already looks faster than Lisa OS.

Necrobump - I'm interested in ChromaCAD
-
I was going over some older videos and this project is a testament to what can be done with the 6502 - the code keeps shrinking and more features being added, all the while becoming ever faster. Pretty impressive on an 8-bit machine to see a Graphically Advanced Management Environment.

Only within tight limits. The Os++ system disk (not yet available for public) will include an extended tape handler that offers a slightly faster mode by doubling the size of the tape records and slightly increasing the Baud rate.
Can the computer boot from this new format?
