charlie, you wanna pull your listing and sell it to me? $150 and then ship it to MG?
-
BillC: sorry I only asked 'devekr' - I totally forgot about 'charliecron'
In hindsight, I will only bid on one item at a time, at acceptable bid levels.
Unless someone lists a corvus adapter. Expect a several thousand dollar bid war for a corvus adapter.
j/k

sheesh dude, your nuts?

OKAY! Okay, heh. I know when to stop. This whole thing is my fault. If I hadn't bid the $500 it wouldn't have gotten outta control. I am a serious spender on ebay, but it's all highly economical buys and mostly business related. Hell, I have $161 eBay bucks racked up for this quarter. And this has been a slow quarter for me. I never meant to stir things up this badly. This world is a fragile little place, and I must be a bull in a china shop to you guys. I hold all of you in high regard, and ultimately I hope to contribute back to the A8 community like most of you die hard guys already have. And as far as the MIOs go, I'll stop being disruptive so that actual work can be done.
Go back to browsing the 8-bit forums... Nothin to see here...

-
Free shipping? WHOO!!! SCORE!!!
Seriously, the MIO is cheaper @ $300

-
Would that MIO/RT8 combo really have changed your lives?
Well, what else can I use to hold up the short leg of my desk

-
FJC, i've looked in other related threads, saw someone had recently created an Eclipse plugin for A8 assembler, even saw something about Xedit and MAC65. Just out of curiosity...
What do you use as your development environment?

Holy crap! Thats amazing! Schematics for everything!

Pixel, I suggest you stop digging the proverbial hole and stop explaining yourself. If you have to justify, then it's not worth explaining. MEtalGuy66's logic is irrefutable, just make the situation right. Actions speak louder than words.. man I am sick of my own analogies.
I'd rather spend this time talking about something else. Just set things straight, and fix your ebay account.
-
Well, he SAID he would pay the listing fees. Let him pay, and let him fix his ebay account & atariage reputation. If the guy is a habitual liar, let's forgive him / give him enough rope to hang himself depending on the perspective. Fool me twice, shame on me. Give the guy a break, if he's apologized, let it go. If he's a douche afterwards, then we'll know. Either way, it's my money. Whether you're buddhist, christian, muslim, athiest - still got to treat one another like were dealing with the man in the mirror. It's the only way to move FORWARD --->>> Forward --> ...forward

However, the fact fibrewire wasn't offered the item as the second highest bidder still requires explanation.
Here ya go, straight from eBay Messaging
Dear devekr,
Why didn't I get a second chance offer the first time you listed the item? I had bid the same amount as the "other" bidder. Why not just sell the item to me?
- fibrewire
Dear fibrewire,
No idea what a second chance offer is? I dont do this very often.
WTF? Ask a stupid question...
-
Reputation matters and I have been on this forum long enough to know that it is the Court of FiberWire, MetalGuy, FlashJazzCat, and Candle. Judge as you will. I expect MetalGuy's offering to be...colorful.
Seeing how the situation has been resolved, MG comment may be like "unbelieveable" if any comment is made at all.

EDIT: I removed any personally identifiable information from all related posts. Thanks for playing!

Son of a ***!!!
I saw the condition of that Atari 800, would have been MY prized machine

People go through predisposed actions as part of their personality. One of them is making a fuss after someone does something 'wrong'. Think of the worst thing someone has done to you, and think about how it's completely irrevelant to carry a grudge forward into your current life. Instead of going through the motions for a year and giving you a hard time, why not just skip to the end where everyone is friends again. I wish more people were like this, and the best chance to find people like that is probably here on AA. It's all about problem solving, and it's the situations you CAN'T find the problem that cause the most trouble. As far as I'm concerned, problem solved, you are forgiven

Who wants to have on their tombstone "Always held a grudge" - life's too short to get caught up.
-
Hey everyone makes mistakes. If you really work in datacenters, you know at what cost lying and covering up comes. You should ALSO know that it's easy to be forgiven, just don't drag that krap out for everyone else to suffer

Oh, and fix your damn ebay account. I insist.
-
hell dude, for your honesty ill GIVE you the MIO if i win it
:D
:DDefinitely not bidding over what it's at now though...
-
I can use Eclipse to make Atari stuff??? Nice!

-
MG: do you still fire up Oregon Trail?
I would

Two types, shielding and shilling.
Shielding is:
The dishonest person is the bidder in this arrangement. There is an item for a low price. The bidder bids astronomically above that low price, but a proxy bid is placed only for the minimum starting price. By using a secondary fake account, the bidder bids over his own actual maximum bid only one time. In the last few moments of the auction, after everyone has been discouraged from watching that item, the fake account retracts it's bid (or cancels his account), dropping the price to whatever the proxy bid was for in the beginning, effectively shielding the bidder from a bidding war with other bidders, and making sure that the bidder pays the minimum price. This only works if nobody else bids.
Shilling is:
The dishonest person is the seller in this arrangement. There is an item for a low price. The bidder bids astronomically above that low price, but a proxy bid is placed only for the minimum starting price. By using a secondary fake account, the seller makes incremental bids until the top bidder is overtaken. The seller then retracts the top bid from the fake account (and accepts the retraction seeing he owns both accounts), which causes the bidder's last successful proxy bid to take the top position. The bidder then wins the item, and the seller collects the maximum monetary value from the top bidder.
There are some exceptions to this though. Shilling can take place without besting the top bidder. The majority of people have a habit of placing bids on the order of whole numbers. Bids increment differently depending on the price. For example, in the MIO auction I detected a shilling arrangement, and figured the guy had bid on the order of a whole number. Since bids increment by $5 or $10 at a time after the bid reaches $400, I knew that when I bid $500, I was outbid by $500 meaning that the shill bidder's maximum bid had been reached, otherwise I would have been outbid by $505 or $510. The way to defeat this is by placing item pricing and bids fractionally below what you want to pay. If the auction had suddenly hit $316.43, I would have been much more cautious with my money

Eh, I already got the stuff. If it's trash, I guess I'm stuck with it. I just want to see what's fair to you guys. Truth is, if I get screwed, then oh well. I only draw the line when I win and don't receive. Integrity is all I have

-
AHH S**T!!! I already bid, but just the minimum. Sheesh, how come I didn't realize that!?!
*sighs*
Well, I'm bidding on the other one, too. (The MIO was relisted.) Also minimum bid...
I'm tapped out right now, too. This just isn't my week on eBay... that reminds me...

Done. Awating a response full of BS.
