ClausB: Never mind, I figured it out.
Do any of you have Atari libraries / projects for use with Eagle Layout Editor?

Sorry, I'm still wrapping my brain around this. Im transitioning from an Atari fanboy to actually understanding how this all works. This includes a simultaneous lobotomy involving a crash course in assembly for the 6502 AND learning how digital circuits function beyond logical operations (Vol 4 @ allaboutcircuits.com)
Can I convince you to make a more legible schematic of your mod?

My end goal is to make two 128k boards for slot one and two. Also how does using EXCEL impact other functions of the A800?
Thanks!
EDIT: Actually if i could figure out how to use the two Atari 64K ram modules with minimal modding would be great

It's an artist's interpretation of how the creativity and imagination that was necessary for early video games has been lost to sensory overload from spoonfed 3d cgi trash. One would have to read the instruction book and look at the artwork on the package to get a feel for the game. So this lone guy in his boxers is fighting the proverbial videogame boss who looks to be 'Ascending' to '3D' (as seen by his image separating into the primary colors R,G,B - much like an Anaglyph). The videogame boss first must destroy the princess of 8-bit. I thought it was fitting because some of the soundbytes and the ending animation of the boss being defeated goes to 16-bit, nes style 8-b, Atari 800 sidescroll 8-bit, then a final demise of the boss in pong form.
I still like my PS3, but thats my take on it.

Could a memory controller card be created for slot 3 that could use slots 1 & 2 for larger ram modules?
-
So the EXSEL line is connected to all ram slots, yet it isn't used?

Check out item #6 on this list here for SIO2SD cases
EDIT: Somehow i posted here by mistake, crosslinked, Matrix 'de ja vu', blackout, timewarp, etc. - so i went with it

An engineering joke that waits 30 years for the punchline? Make it good

Agreed, and I really don't see why this is so hard to understand. As a semi-casual 800XL user, I would not buy this interface if it meant that I'd have to have it sticking up in the air out of the back of the computer. Similar interfaces on other machines (such as the CF7 for the 99/4a) have had much the same issue, and it's the kind of poor design that will steer people away, even those who might want what these interfaces have to offer. I'd just as soon stick with my internal MyIDE board.
It's not rocket science. MEtalGuy66 is totally right, but the designer doesn't seem to be open minded. The fact that this argument is drawing out like this means:
a)Designer is missing some piece of info that will make the design change take place.
b)Designer likes to argue.
c)MEtalGuy66's bloodpressure is rising.
d)Designer has unforseen insight incorporated into the design that needs explanation.
It seems like a nice product, but if it isn't going to be changed then adapter it is. Maybe the designer could make a video of the device attached while tilting his 800XL backwards?
-
The easiest thing to do would be to make an adapter card. One that plugs into the board and reverses the pins, thereby eliminating the conflict between the designer and users of a ribbon cable.
Common sense FTW!

Zero ohm resistor is used instead of jumper wires because it would require a separate welding machine to hold jumper wires at the manufacturing plant.
EDIT: Link to Wikipedia

i know that, but saying "MFM" is cooler than "ST506/ST412" - Kinda like saying "Cloud" is cooler than "High Availability/High Reliability/Virtualizaton Stack"

Is that an Amdek? I remember dreaming about owing one, when I used to use a shit-ass garage sale black and white TV (most of the time) in my early 400/800 days.
Abssolutely! This is my 2nd Color I, and I also have a 300A with the anti-glare screen. They match Atari beige perfectly.

Not quite ebay, but I've got this on the way.
Mainly because the 800 is my favorite and I want a cart that uses the right slot.
That's a lot of Basic carts.

nice to know who i was bidding against, and yes, shopgoodwill.com counts - both it and ebay are functionally identical

i'll let you know when it gets here
