  1. It's not rocket science. MEtalGuy66 is totally right, but the designer doesn't seem to be open minded. The fact that this argument is drawing out like this means: a)Designer is missing some piece of info that will make the design change take place. b)Designer likes to argue. c)MEtalGuy66's bloodpressure is rising. d)Designer has unforseen insight incorporated into the design that needs explanation. It seems like a nice product, but if it isn't going to be changed then adapter it is. Maybe the designer could make a video of the device attached while tilting his 800XL backwards?
  2. The easiest thing to do would be to make an adapter card. One that plugs into the board and reverses the pins, thereby eliminating the conflict between the designer and users of a ribbon cable. Common sense FTW!
  3. The guy's name was Ward from Florida. Found this in another auction by the same person.
  4. Just got one of the Atari 800 hauls from ebay and this was inside. Looks to be a 32K module, is this the Mosaic 32K board? EDIT: Identical to the MPC 32K board
  5. Zero ohm resistor is used instead of jumper wires because it would require a separate welding machine to hold jumper wires at the manufacturing plant. EDIT: Link to Wikipedia
  6. i know that, but saying "MFM" is cooler than "ST506/ST412" - Kinda like saying "Cloud" is cooler than "High Availability/High Reliability/Virtualizaton Stack" Obfuscation
  7. Is that an Amdek? I remember dreaming about owing one, when I used to use a shit-ass garage sale black and white TV (most of the time) in my early 400/800 days. Abssolutely! This is my 2nd Color I, and I also have a 300A with the anti-glare screen. They match Atari beige perfectly.
  8. nice to know who i was bidding against, and yes, shopgoodwill.com counts - both it and ebay are functionally identical

  13. I've never had a problem personally, I just noticed people complaining matches my recent experience with them. They always get the stuff to me on time, and this is all NOS anyway - I'd be a fool to expect 30 year old hardware working perfectly, 100% out of 100 orders. I just thought maybe someone would know of their specific issue. I got my answer. MEtalGuy66 is: Weaponized empirical information. Wouldn't have it any other way
  14. Considering the average Atari 800 user started in 1979 at age 15, that would leave most die-hard 6502 guys in their 40's... Considering B&C is a husband and wife team, and customer service has not been up to par, and in the last months he has told me the same story, that "he has tons of orders to do by himself" - did his wife die? Did he get a divorce? Hospitalized? Has anyone asked?
  15. On a side note, there's that little clover again on the interface. It's on all the Corvus PCBs - was that the company logo?
  16. Besides games, I can't imagine anyone doing anything else BUT programming with A8 stuff.
  17. As I'm making a schematic of the Corvus interface board, I thought to myself "These high definition full color prints belong on a wall. I wonder if anyone else would like 11x17 full color glossy prints of Atari 800 stuff? Are there any A8 photographers out there?" Post your high resolution professional style photographs of Atari stuff, and I'll print those pictures for you, free of charge. Shipping is negotiable. EDIT: This picture really doesn't do the prints justice. These were printed on HP 48lb 11x17 Glossy paper using a HP CP6015dn in ImageREt 4800 mode
  18. I just purchased it. There were no pictures, and I bought it from D'antiques - they have a lot of disk/tape/cart for all Atari systems. Excellent service, too
  19. Votre anglais est bon pour un homme francais. Prefereriez-vous des photographies haute resolution?
  20. ouch, i should've waited. I just bought Telelink I - NIB for $20 I do however have the atari communicator II in box with all documentation... one of the first things i bought from one of those other weird auction sites. Has grey foam instead of Styrofoam for packing material.
  21. says "Stop looking at my profile and talk to me!"

  22. Has anyone found one of these? What's it worth?
