  1. Size values are fine. Possible tasks: You can make use of the 32K in Extended Basic or can now run modules requiring 32K expansion attached. Or you can simply attach the tape recorder and try out things.... You still need a RS232 card!
  2. Do you mean the program stored in VDP Ram or the program stored on disk already? shouldn't that be covered by the FILE MANAGEMENT SPECIFICATION for the TI-99/4 Home Computer? Do you simply mean the File Format Internal/Variable with Record Length of 254? Can you share the program lines that belong to the posted code?
  3. Well, i must be superlucky then, since this auction featured both cartridges: TI-Calc and Gestion Privee and those cartridges found a new home in Vienna: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/281485415461?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648 The Ti-Calc cartridge says 1/84 an on the back, so I don't know how that fits to your 1983 christmas season theory. So I am trying it with the original cartridge, and I am trying it with PC99 Light with the original module files from C.a.d.d. In both situations I am stuck on the green screen.
  4. Hi, i want to play with TI Calc but can't get past the green screen shown below. The documentation says FCTN+7 or 8 or 9 should do something but nothing seems to trigger anything. Any ideas? And 2nd thing, how rare is this cartridge?
  5. Are you talking about the sealed PEB or another boxed item? Which part was missing? BR Klaus
  6. the seller is not answering my message since 4 days about shipping 2 other items with the PEB. instead he raised the price for the PEB to 149,99 USD.
  7. think of Gram Cards, Ramdisks, SCSI Controller, Harddisk Controller.
  8. Hi! I wanted to share some notes and get your thoughts and ideas on this... I started to write a PC Tool called Web99. It allows the PC to communicate with the Real TI-99 over the serial port (or an USB adapter). The target audience is any real TI-99 User, any real Geneve User, and most Emulator Users. In the end I want to go away from Windows to somewhere else but that direction is still a little secret. For now I successfully made it do a simple chat (share Text Messages). on the TI-99 is running a simple program like it would chat with another TI-99. On the PC Side you have a chat-like window and a Textbox to enter Text. Further Web99 already let's you transfer any TI Basic / TI Extended basic program from the PC to the TI-99. On the TI-99 you simply enter OLD RS232.BA=9600 On the PC you can select the ti-file (=pc file) which shall be transfered. Now I want to extend it. I want the TI-99 User to see the content of a "directory" like a catalog for Disks. Later I want the TI-99 be able to select the file to be transfered, switch Directory and stuff like that. However the RS232 DSR doesn't allow or more precisely ignores FILENAMES after the DEVICENAME. I took the basic program for cataloging a Disk from the Disk controller Manual and changed the Open statement to use RS232, sequential records. Since the TI-99 only waits for data but does not send any data that it is in wait state, I made a button on my PC to trigger sending the Catalog data manually . It works, but its absolute not what i like. One option would be to extend the catalog program to first send over some command like "GETDIR" as Text or a control character like in Terminal Emulator. Another option would be to adapt the DSR, but this would limit the number of users quite a bit. So far I learned a lot already, but now I am unsure about the direction. In the end i want to write a WebLoader in Assembler that runs on the TI-99 side. But it would be nice to have the possiblity to do basic stuff in XBasic as well. Is it true that in order to get 38400 baud I have to bypass the standard RS232 DSR anyhow and communicate directly via CRU to the TMS9902? Is it stable like that? Thanks for your input...
  9. welcome to the PEB owners club My girlfriend hates me for it but I will never get rid of the PEB. You should be able to find people with spare cards here and on the ti-99 yahoogroups. It might take some time until a possibility shows up to get all the cards. The Basic setup consists of the Flex Interface (you got that?), the Disk Controller, the 32K Memory Expansion and the RS-232 card. If you are impatient try ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151475738372?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/151468562121?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEXAS-INSTRUMENTS-TI-99-4A-DISK-CONTROLLER-CARD-PHP1240-DISK-DRIVE-CABLE-/291298165766?pt=US_Vintage_Computing_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43d2b94406 Klaus
  10. @Gazoo: your ebay settings exclude all non-US 99ers.
  11. this sounds really "fantastic". Can this board also be used for GROM like the UberGrom board?
  12. as an organizer of events its hard to get the word out to potential guests. i highly recommend keeping it sticky. retroclouds always updated the thread when I informed him with news on my events.
  13. anyone has bought this or knows whether it contains unique content? Content that is not on ftp.whtech.com and not on The Cyc DVD? TI-99 Texas Instruments Computer 3800 Users Groups Newsletters DVD Archive: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TI-99-Texas-Instruments-Computer-3800-Users-Groups-Newsletters-DVD-Archive-/251660031768?pt=US_Vintage_Computing_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a981b5718
  14. Yes, that is exactly what I was referring to. Btw - I have started some first programming lines for my own project which goes in the direction connecting TI and the world together. It's a Microsoft .net based program I started to wrote yesterday. For now you can configure the serial port and send Text over to the TI with success. In the next days I want it to extend it with file transfer. Project name is still undecided that's why I have hidden the current codename.
  15. Good job. Going to the Web with the 99 4a is definately an aim and opens many new possibilities. Count me interested in the RS232 and Internet topic. I have just ordered this cable to improve my possibilties when connecting the TI with the other world: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00425S1H8/ref=s9_simh_se_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=search-desktop-advertising-no-results-center-1&pf_rd_r=06QQ6G1H6MAQ693H7EKH&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_p=535022947&pf_rd_i=profilic%20serial%20cable Regarding your documentation: There are two different versions of the NanoPeb (v1, v2). The Com Port is a main difference between them. So the document should distinguish between those two. Fred Kaal has built a Hdx version that works with the serial Port of the NanoPEB v1, so it should be possible to adapt other communication programs as well.
  16. We will share around the latest Gamebase on the 29th european TI-99 meeting this weekend. The community loves it! Thanks a lot!

    Js99'er

Impressive! I find it nice, how you have combined learning with passion. Can you give us some details on the javascript technology you use? Angular JS got quite popular these days, does it has todo with it? Or Jquery? Thx kl99
  23. What kind of tools do you use to compare thousands of TI-99 disk images, modules files with each other? I am currently trying to find all duplicate files in my collection. It was a complete mess before, and is getting slowly better, but it is taking ages, and whenever there is a new TI meeting, somebody shares his collection with mine, and the work starts again. Any suggestions?
  24. I was trying to get some infos about other Basic Releases for the 9900, and by accident found out that there are updated versions of our beloved TI Basic. This is the documentation for 4.1 of TI Basic: http://bitsavers.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de/pdf/ti/990/basic/2308769-9701A_BASIC_refMan_Dec83.pdf Syntax, coding, editing, even save/run/old and their use of devices is looking almost exactly like TI Basic/ XB. There are nice enhancements, the subroutines of most CALL statements are not included. The Software was released for the TI-990 minicomputers back in 1983, those machines are running on a variant of the TMS 9900 cpu. So far I found the binaries of TI Basic 3.1 Installation Disk: ftp://www.cozx.com/pub/ti990/disks/basic_3.1.0_ins.dsk http://www.cozx.com/~dpitts/ti990.html Couldn't run the linux utility to extract the single files from the DS10 disk image. Don't know if this Basic is double interpreting (Basic Interpreter/GPL interpreter) like our TI Basic, or if this is a GPL free TI Basic version that has the same look and feel of our Basic. The question is, can this be of any use for our 99/4a or even a replacement?
